Nope. most important word ever. You need to spend some time with kids. They have no fucking problem saying "no" to start out with. The PARENTS need to be taught that beating (not literally) that out of them is the problem. Sometimes kids are just being perverse, but other times it's totally legitimate to say "no". Teach them to distinguish between the two, not just blanket override it out of frustration.

Yeah, I was thinking that little girls would equally benefit from those terms. Hell, I'm a grown woman and sometimes I feel overwhelmed -- I don't imagine that spontaneously started later in life. Words (communication skills) are tools everyone needs.

Depends which accusation you think was the last straw. CBC isn't talking and we just have that list of potential issues including verbally abusing an underling, and that oh-so-kooky sharing homemade porn with his bosses. Either of which should be problem enough.

A couple of thoughts: wouldn't there also be more lesbians. Have you never encountered gay men who wanted kids? I'm thinking the top tier of men would still be having all the sex and women would raise kids in conjunction with gay couples. I'm basing that on the near bidding war that arose among my gay couple friends when we thought I was knocked up a couple of years ago.

I would question the judgment of anyone who thinks it is appropriate to bring self made porn into the office and share it with your coworkers even if it's to prove it was consensual. I cannot begin to imagine how awkward that meeting was.

If I need something done I will typically ask man of I'm going to ask anyone regardless of what advice is needed. Try formulating a fucking sentence, for a start. I'm not remotely interested in being your equal. This is a case of "the variations within a sex is greater than between the sexes." There are men who are smarter than I am, but you aren't one of them.

Then you should probably expect to get dumped if you act out from the stress you are bottling up and hiding. You may not have to give her details, but if she has no clue shit is even going on, then you can't expect compassion. I say this as someone who learned to let people in -- not the other side of the equation. It took a good long time for me to accept that if people didn't know that I was stressed, they really couldn't understand why I lashed out when they added just that one more issue to …

The better question is: Why are you willing to settle for one of those women (who aren't)? Seriously, it sounds like a lot of men find themselves in relationships where they could be replaced by a money making sex robot the second that becomes possible. I don't get why people let themselves be with others (I was going to say "partners", but they aren't) who are only interested in them for the function they serve rather than the person they are. Unless they are also doing that to the other, in wh…

I guess it depends on your definition of vulnerability. I would say letting her know that this was happening is being vulnerable, not just sitting and whining about the effect that is having on you. It's not weakness to say XY & Z happening to me right now, and a sane companion can figure out that this is a stressful situation. Pretending to be strong by keeping it entirely to yourself is not actual strength.

Society in general has been sorely lacking in its response to mental health issues. Think about PTSD or "shell-shock" or other disorders associated with men returning from war. It's all of society, not just women.

women, most women even if you follow AWALT, will hold MH against you If MH refers to mental health, may I point you to those who say, "don't stick your dick in crazy." That's not women making all the judgment.

if someone is judging my character by using my stats to associate me to some average group rather than getting to know me, there's something wrong with their interpersonal skills and relationship values, surely? I'm still new to the sub and I guess I am still stuck back on why people care. Forgive me, but, does "hypergamy" refer to marrying up (social levels) or trading up (potentially a constant thing)? Because, as a former serial "other woman", men also can be poached. That is not strictly a woman thing.

They desire families and children more than men That desire apparently decreases by 25% with every 15 additional IQ points over 100, and is also correlated to education. I have literally never wanted children in my entire life. To the point of not playing with baby dolls as a small small child, which perplexed pretty much everyone. I think I assumed I would one day get married, in a weird and vague kind of way, until the proposals started coming in, and then it shifted to, "Yeah, i don't think t…

I feel like I should drop this turd in here and run away: Women with higher IQs are less likely to have kids, research suggests And I tell you from personal experience, when you don't want kids, that husband thing doesn't really have the same draw. It starts to sound like a lot of extra work for not a whole lot of additional benefit. I mean how hard is it for women to get laid? What do I really need to be doing your laundry for? It's not about fighting another woman, its about the woman taking the relationship for granted Ooo. You guys really don't understand how that works, do you? As someone who has been the "other woman" (more than once) let me tell you, the need to "see what she looks like" has less to do with him or the relationship than knowing who might be taking away her toy -- regardless of whether or not she wants said toy. So would saying, "I need some space and time to think about things," without the whole "destroying the trust foundation of the relationship" factor. I have seen that a certain percentage of women will feel compelled to fight for a man they think is being stolen from them, so I know it works some of the time, but some women also get really really angry and want to hurt you (back). Do taller men have a different "neural setup" than shorter men? OMG. I have to tell you you made me laugh my ass off. That is now my all time favorite answer to someone who clearly does not understand that the difference within a sex is greater than the difference between the sexes. Some people clearly think their penises give them magic powers.

As a woman who doesn't do "vulnerable" or "fragile" particularly well, I can tell you it's more of a pain in the ass to see men responding to it than you can possibly imagine. You can gripe about women playing that card all you like, but it works. I see it all the fucking time. I WISH more men were better than that. It's a tiny little pool of men that I can date because I just cannot do the whole helpless thing and still respect a man for falling for it.

Frankly, you should be punished for that behaviour. I don't think that letting men get away with slapping women would qualify as fixing anything anymore than caning women in Singapore, or making women register for the selective service in the US, or any other number of ideas that would "even things up" in the wrong direction. He (your bf) should also dump your ass ASAP. You're toxic.

They're usually older men (like 60+) and I don't get the feeling it's about hitting on me as much as just deciding that somehow it is within their purview to have me not walk around with a frown on my face. It's annoying, but not threatening.

To be fair, if he's catcalling, he's hardly likely to be "Mr. Right". I'm trying to picture, say, Sean Connery or someone else equally suave, catcalling. I (female), also cosplay, and while most of my coworkers know about it, it was my choice to tell them, AFTER they got to know me as a person. If someone wants a real relationship with you, and you can't give them that, they have every right to walk away. I agree, it was entirely his prerogative. My only point was that I didn't "friend zone" him "because he was too nice". There can be a thousand other reasons why a friendship doesn't progress beyond that stage, and most of them don't involve "I would rather be dating a jerk."

Not that women owe him sex or a date, but it does get confusing when women say "we want x" and when a guy does everything to become "x" and there's a lack of women in his life, it is quite frustrating. Or, there is a nice guy who is also hot. Nice + Hot men exist, they just are typically on the market for about 3 seconds. Did I itemize anything and/or go on at length about it? I don't know, maybe there is some weird manly tradition of having a virtual circle jerk that I don't know about and, frankly, would like to resume not knowing about, but I've only ever gone to that level of detail with the person in question, and typically in the context one of us being far away.

Most men don't give a shit about muscle. But women don't want to date "most men". They want a hot guy. It's only logical: if I want to be with someone hot, I have to put effort into being equally attractive, no? Women are super-competitive -- they mostly fight over that 5% of men and that requires work. I know most men think that women are passive, but they can be quite aggressive with the right motivator (I said "they" because I'm always aggressive, which is atypical; I'm not much of a "wait an…

Some men care about the things I'm about to mention, obviously. But they're the minority. Looks like it depends which steroids you take and whose research you buy. This information is all over the map. :-/ There's even a woman who is insisting they made her clitoris grow to the size of a small penis. As far as optical illusions go, I can't imagine having thighs as big around as my shoulders can help anything look big in comparison.
/r/MensRights01/03/14 06:14 AM

my point is it is possible for a woman to have a completely passive stance and still be sexually successful. Okay, I can see that as a possibility. My experience with women is they are too competitive to actually do that, though.
/r/MensRights01/03/14 04:55 AM

Steroids also make their penises shrink as well as the bad moods. Though, I can imagine that sheer giant-thigh: penis ratio doesn't flatter a guy's junk. I might objectively be able to state that "beefcake" looks good, but I'm not physically attracted to it. I like toned men, but not excessively toned.

Georges St. Pierre Until this thread, I had no idea who he even was. So, uhm, not fantasizing about him. I will tell you that many women do not require a man spend hours and hours in the gym, and are in fact a little off-put by it. For the most part, we just want men who look healthy.

Georges St. Pierre No, I think Niall Matter at this point in time is about as muscular as "perfect" gets. Social ostracism is the very definition of the geek. No. It just meant non-mainstream. There is no necessity to being ostracized, you just had to have the "odd" interest. What's to fucking pretend? If she's dating someone else, how is that pretending? It's like every goddamned community that Madonna turned into a trend in the 80's & 90's (remember vogueing anyone?). The spotlight comes, the spotlight goes. If you're gaming because you ACTUALLY ENJOY THE GAMES, who the fuck cares if "the masses" romp through and out? Most of the women who have been gaming for years don't even identify themselves as female -- because of the high dickhead ratio in the "community". T…

I'm in Canada. I don't need a weapon. I also wouldn't use the term unless it was legitimately warranted, as in someone should have backed off by now and hasn't. Being glanced at wouldn't qualify, and not knowing how long it takes you to "scan" women for sexual characteristics, that could go either way, depending entirely on how long it takes, TBH.

I think you might be oversimplifying things. There is looking at someone, and then there is staring at them. If you have stared hard enough that the other person has gone through the "do I have something in my teeth? Is my skirt tucked into my underwear or something?" phase and is now in the "trying to stand so that there is a pillar between me and this weirdo, but he keeps moving to continue staring at me" phase, I think we can safely say she is within her rights to decide it's a problem. These "cues" that many women insist are blazingly obvious, even if explained to most men, the men would scoff and say the explanation is idiotic. This is not men ignoring obvious cues. I mean making it physically difficult to even approach. It's kinda like when white people decide that something is racist on behalf of black people, or able-bodied people decide that something is somehow anti-whoever, I just feel like that needs to be said out loud so that people don't start bitching at the wrong people.

I have to say that intent is all the difference. I don't care if you call me "hon" when you call everyone else on the planet that. An absent minded "hon" may as well be "dude" for all the meaning it has.

There are lots of things men's rights should be doing -- defending assholes and asshole behaviour isn't one of them. Let the downvoting begin.

For the record, some women either don't care about the quantity of body hair (grooming is another matter) and others actually prefer hairy men. Body hair has nothing to do with finding a woman. If you are having issues, that isn't it. If there are no kids, there should be no alimony. (And I say this as a woman who doesn't want kids, so clearly, I would be removing myself from eligibility for alimony.) If there are kids, it should depend on what she was willing to give up in order to have and raise them. If a woman screwed with her own earnings potential, then she should be compensated. On the other hand, I also think women who want kids are insane. There are no logical reasons to want kids, only hormonal ones. But I guess som…

Oh, I in no way disagree that her looks are not part of the equation when it comes to the workplace. I was focussed on "over-political correctness continues to be a workplace issue that creates undue tension for men who are simply trying to be nice, or cordial" -- particularly the "undue tension". There are some men who just shouldn't because they are not good at it and no good will come of it -- at least not without some serious practice, possibly involving a video camera.

If you are really interested in fixing that, try the "drive-by compliment" technique. Pick something tangible to compliment, say it and walk off without waiting for a response. Like: "Nice job on that presentation earlier!" keep on going It can be confusing to women, but it's usually the lingering pause that causes the "what does he want?" response, so eliminating it will train the women around you that that's not what it's about.

I don't want to go to baby showers, and I am female. Also: leaving me in the room with the wives/girlfriends is grounds for being dumped. Not kidding about that. You make me spend the evening listening to tales about other people's kids/wedding plans, and you will never see my fine ass again.

I want to know where all these men who don't want babies are. I know quite a few women (and I am one) who have zero intention of having kids, who have never wanted kids, and who clearly are not going to want them in the near future, and we always seem to end up accepting that certain relationships are just going to be temporary because sooner or later, he's going to want to run off and breed. How is it that all these men who don't want kids keep marrying women who do? Better still: why? (Also, I…

It has invested a lot in talking women into it too. Furfuxache, you get marital tax breaks for no really good reason considering you are already saving costs of second housing and supplies. (Tax breaks for dependents, I understand. Spouse, not so much.) I say this as a woman who has zero desire for children and (possibly as a result) not so thrilled about the husband concept either. Singles are weirdly threatening to the status quo.

Well that sucks. But if enough people who see this shit happening are willing to risk it, sooner or later something has to be done. It's not about you, it's not about me, it's about the welfare of the child :/

And of course men don't pretend to be someone else during the dating phase and then -- or hell, not even pretend, they're just into someone at that point and then slack off putting the effort into the relationship. Point is, if you actually get to know the person you are with and not just project some sort of ideal onto them because it's convenient, then you won't end up in this state. Ironically, marriage is an insane decision to make while in the thrall of love. And I say the same damned thing…

I was just going to say we always leave it completely closed (for precisely this reason) and so the idea that THAT'S "more convenient" for women is eradicated. It's really not that hard to tell them to shut the hell up, if you are really willing to let them go. I know, I did it. Just by being aware that you can replace them with less toxic people seems to put you in a better position to get them to respect your wishes. I've never wanted kids a day in my life, not even as a little girl. No interest in baby-type dolls, so I never got it from my parents directly.

Women are more likely to think about the person who finds them, whereas men don't care how big a mess they leave. When men commit suicide it's all about them, and when women do it, it's all about other people. Oh wait, I'm just pulling that out of my ass, like 90% of this thread.

I'm always perplexed by how men (and it is men who do this) cannot hear the difference between "someone might turn out to be a rapist" and "someone might turn INTO a rapist". The first is a pre-existing state, they just look like everyone else. If they looked like the crazed character in TV shows, it wouldn't be an issue, would it? Also, if I get dressed up to go on a date, it doesn't mean that is for every man I pass on my way there and home.

Two things: First, (Western?) society is getting more callous toward everyone -- women are told to put on their big girl panties or other such phrases (and there are times when it is deserved, but I notice the phrase coming out more and more when there is a legitimate complaint). Possibly people are more stressed and unwilling to take on other people's stress at this point. Though in your case... You have terrible taste in women. I'm glad you dumped her. What a strange undertone to the article. I finally realized what it was: normally when an article refers to someone by last name, it "Choi" or "Eerbeek" but that one kept giving "Ms." and "Mr.". It's subtle, but tweaked me enough to wonder wtf the writer was up to. Also, this sucks, not just for men. As a confirmed spinster (and I don't care what that says to you), I disagree with it fully. "Why are you stopping" indicates consent. It's probably wiser to wait for that question than to blindly push through. I'm a woman and I wouldn't say, "I don't want to" unless I didn't want to. You cannot extrapolate from one experience with a human being to the next. If your last girlfriend liked beets, it doesn't mean every woman ever likes them. Same thing.

From what I've observed, it's less about the looks and more about concern for the person finding the body. I had a friend who found her friend's body (he'd put a shotgun in his mouth), and it really fqd with her head. For a long, long time after, she had flashbacks. That's fine if your impetus is spite or to make people sorry for not treating you better, but if you're just tired and want out, you don't want to leave a big mess for someone to clean.

And which figment of your imagination would say that? I'm not sure if you missed that I already think she should rot in jail (for the regular justice reasons) and was simply pointing out that there aren't too many people who wouldn't. You clearly aren't going to be happy until someone backs up your delusion, and I'm not that person no matter how much twisting you want to do. So you two feel free to rile each other up about all the evil vagina-havers. I've got better things to do.
/r/MensRights26/12/12 11:56 PM

That depends on whether you think the law should be for punishment only or as a deterrent. And the reason I chose that possibility was because there is no situation in which a sane person should want her going free -- even the most selfish self-interested feminist of your feverish imagination.
