I had a long-term ex, who I dated after I extricated myself from a severely emotionally abusive marriage (so even the bare minimum seemed amazing to me). Once during sex apparently I made a face or sound that indicated more pain than pleasure, and he stopped. But then he made this HUGE deal about how he stopped. Like no joke he must have talked to me for about 20 min about how he’s the “type of man” who can’t stand when a woman is in pain, and point blank asked me “isn’t that amazing?” Like I ha…

A female artist who was in the studio with Kanye said he had the Kim K video playing the whole time in the background. I think this was before they officially got together but I can’t remember completely. I just remember being grossed out that a man would be watching porn around other people, while he’s essentially at work.

I babysat for my next door neighbors as a teenager, and the father would often get home from work first but tell me to hang out until his wife got home so she could pay me. While we would wait he’d watch aerobics videos sitting on the couch. It was… deeply uncomfortable for me.

Ok wow! Again! A lot of men took advantage of my absolutely broken sense of self worth after my assault. But not many of them knew about the assault itself.

Wow! I am a survivor of sexual assault. Maybe I’m extra sensitive to this? This is the worst thing I have read in… I don’t even know how long. I am sending you all the love in my heart, you deserve it every single day.

Of course there were red flags, the relationship wasn’t perfect and this was almost 10 years ago. However, we had discussed all the things in this post and he didn’t stay true to the things he said before marriage. In some cases, like with financial expectations, his stance on that mutated into financial abuse against me. His sexual expectations completely changed, suddenly he needed porn to have sex, every time (which was only once every 3 months), and yet he’d rape me when it came time.

Discussed all of these things with my ex husband and he switched it all up after we got the marriage certificate. Some men are just saying what they think you want to hear until you’re stuck with them.

Oh do I have a story about this! It’s sort of the most extreme version of what OP is describing but I swear it happened. I was dating a guy back in 2008 and the two of us with his group of friends went to a state park for some hiking. At one point we came to a river that was clearly flooded, and the water was opaque from all the extra dirt in the water, and it was flowing extremely hard. It’s important here to note that I was in college at the time and a member of my school’s swim team, I’m not …

It is one of my favorite books, if not my top favorite. Nothing I’ve ever read has hurt as much as that book, I couldn’t put it down.

I started going to therapy right after I had “the talk” with my ex-husband, which was me telling him that the months of me saying we needed couple’s therapy and him refusing had led to me falling out of love with him. It was difficult to explain to him that it was never going to come back, and that yea, I was 100% positive of that. I still had compassion for him, but he made even that impossible by acting like a spoiled child after I left. Suddenly it was like every tiny, little nice thing he ev…

Something really similar happened to me while I was leaving my ex husband. For the entire relationship he emotionally abused me, he financially abused me, he subjected me to incredible public humiliation, and as a result of all of this I really developed this warped sense of self. I would try to tell him that he was hurting me, but he would convince me it was my fault and that he was doing what was best for me. When the switch flipped in my brain and I saw the reality of our relationship, it was…

I didn’t see what subreddit this was posted in when I read it, and I was just like, what the fuck is this? Trash.

You only get to keep the health insurance (tricare) if you stay in for 20 years and complete a traditional military retirement. You still get to use the VA if you serve for over 2 years and are discharged in good standing, but similar to Medicare you only get regular health services if your income falls below a certain limit. If your income is above the limit you have to get health insurance for coverage of non-service-related health conditions.

I am in my 12th year of Active Duty service in the Air Force. I just really, desperately need health insurance, so I stay in. I’m only just now working through all of my traumas I’ve experienced, and continue to experience in the military. I’m trying to get it all documented so that when I get out I am compensated through disability payments. I have been raped multiple times, sexually harassed on many occasions, blackmailed for sex, an NCO picked up my phone while I was busy during an inspection…

My ex husband remembered all of his emotional abuse. After we separated (I initiated the separation) he was telling our mutual friends how it was all my fault and tiny details of all of my flaws, meanwhile he asked me to stop saying he was emotionally/verbally abusive and addicted to video games because he found it embarrassing that our mutual friends knew that. So he just wanted me to once again sit back and take his abuse, just through our friends as third parties.

Fake woke!!!! Good lord that is exactly it. The last guy I dated who proclaimed himself to be a feminist, was THE most judge mental person I have ever met, and much of that was him projecting his deep insecurities onto women. He even negged me a few times. His apartment was absolutely filthy, too. Acting like he’s a catch. He also got drunk and told me that he frequently has unprotected sex with men when he’s drunk but that I shouldn’t worry. When I broke up with him he was a gigantic, spiteful …

I’m in the military and I got assigned to a way better place, I’m currently in a small town with nothing to do.

A few months ago I was a wreck after finally blocking someone’s dusty ass son who had been causing me a ton of stress for over a year. I haven’t dated since then. I’ve spent my time massively leveling up, and in a little over a month I am moving to a relatively large city. I’ll get there in the best shape of my life and I am starting martial arts when I get there as they have a Muay Thai studio near my future apartment. Men? Never heard of em.

After we had separated my ex-husband admitted to me that he was just completely miserable in this life and that he believes he should have been born in the past so he could have fought and died in WW2. I don’t even.

There’s a documentary on this called the 13th Step for anyone who is interested. I think I watched it on prime video.

All that I can say to anyone reading this from any of those libfem subs is that I am a woman nearing middle age who has had extremely self-destructive, and codependent relationship practices my whole life until I found FDS. I am not going to be a man’s sex toy ever again, I’m not going to be his punching bag during sex, and I’m not going to go halfsies on meals when he is trying to court me. This place has helped me immensely, and I still have a lot left to internalize and practice.

The last two LVM I involved myself were both terrible at sex. This subreddit is the only thing that finally snapped me out of repeating this ridiculous pickme cycle. I’m taking a LONG time off from men to just improve my life and my relationship with my single self.

I work with a woman who says catcalling isn’t harassment and we should be “grateful” for the compliments. So gross.

I would never, ever, in a million years date a man who I knew had contributed to a cam girl account.

I worked in hotels, at an upscale hotel in my hometown (where I no longer live) and men would get so inappropriate there. Apparently frequent traveling businessmen have these theories that women who work at hotels moonlight as prostitutes for the guests. It was shocking and disgusting.
