How is it diabolical? I dont think it should ever be assumed that everything ends in marriage. Meeting each others families is pretty serious to me, but being that serious is not the same as being married which is much more serious. its generally very financially advantageous. your mortgage can only decrease, not increase, unlike rent. a good chunk of that mortgage is just paying yourself. youll have to replace stuff, but so does your landlord, you dont really avoid the cost by using a middleman, its just more spread out. maybe you could do more with the money with some other investment, but the security of fixing such a large expenditure while also attaining a large asset is pretty appealing.

if you like her, and expect her to make sacrifices in order to stay together (like moving because you found a job). or vice versa, you are willing to make that sacrifice. if youre financially going to be tied together. like if one of you is supporting both of you while the other goes to school to get a higher paying job. or if you want kids, you might as well.

…its a fantasy. who is the female romantic lead in transformers? romantic love at the center of a fantasy being more appealing to women doesnt support the argument that women only like the benefits of love rather than love itself. that would be more consistent with fantasies about the benefits themselves, with the romantic part being secondary.

money isnt yourself. what if he got robbed of all his money? he maybe has ability and can make some of it back, but the money can go. if “being yourself” counts as a condition, this debate is pointless, since everyone has this condition, both men and women. if youre going to compare who has the more pure love, loving someone for being themselves is as pure as it gets for humans.
