Get a lawyer, file first, establish custody. Treat this like a business transaction, cause it is. You want to be in a secure position post divorce to be able to heal and provide a life for yourself and children. Keep emotions out of it and deal with those in private or with counseling. Her situation is not your problem anymore, your situation is.

Because divorce has become to easy. Back in the 50s the court wouldn’t grant a divorce unless there was abuse or extreme circumstances. Judge would tell them to work their crap out and be responsible. Now the term “walk away spouse” is prevalent. Marriage is too much work. If people worked as hard on their marriages as they do on their careers we wouldn’t have these situations. Take it from a divorcée married 23 years. It’s too easy for them to walk away.
