7	Yes, yes, yes and yes I saw someone answer this recently... basically there's no 'men's' chess, just open. But there's women's chess to allow people from cultures where it may not be okay to mix men and women to take part and also having a women's champion promotes the game to women and encourages participation, rather it continuing to just be seen as a man's game.
