Im a bourban guy. Try michters. Its a sour mash bourbon, kinda peaty and smoky, and a bit sweet. As for wines malbecs can be too raw vegitable tasting for my liking, but that depends on the alititude its grown in. Props for shiraz. Such a under rated varietal.
