First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to reply, plenty of good stuff there. But yes I agree with you on just about everything. I don't think having friends and social life is that important if you are secure with yourself and continue to work on yourself too. Similarly every group has its cracks and before you know it you start to play games to one-up each other. The reason however this stuff can be important is that it helps to keep your mind healthy. I like you don't drink, do drug…

I am hearing this quite a lot that group study is a waste of time. OTOH you are bound to get stuck on a problem, wouldn't a group really help in that regards? Also studying on your own can get boring, how can you keep yourself motivated and on track?

I was going to say this, studying in groups is great for getting answers but the truth is you have to put in the time yourself to truly get it. I am studying a physical science at university so I do have a lot of conceptual learning. But yes, this 80/20 issue, when it comes to understanding things first time, what are some good means. I recently got taught to try and be more active when revising, so for example explaining things to myself has really helped.
