A few years ago, my mother starting talking all serious to me, even though I was only around 18 and not in a serious relationship of any kind, to make sure to get a prenup and protect myself once I get married. I thought it was silly at the time; prenups were for the filthy rich and their trophy wives, right? Now I see, she is quite the wise woman.

Well, Mondragon is run by anarchists and basically where I imagine people like the College liberal meme girl would hang out, so there's that for a bit of context

Yeah, the only reason why we are hearing about her reaction is because everyone is reacting to it. She is trying to get people off her back, wouldn't you do the same? That doesn't mean her actual intentions regarding parenting are suspect and that she's a bad mother.

I completely agree with you.

Wow, why are you assuming she's full of shit? And why is everyone upvoting this sentiment? You don't know anything. Kids can sometimes be shitty fucking kids despite being well-raised and having good parents. And as far as you know, she is genuinely upset about it and will be trying to remedy the situation.

I think it does bring up some interesting ideas, about masculinity in today's society and how it can have an effect on the mental health of men. I also disagree with the overall sentiment in this thread that it is an attack on men - there is a mental health issue that seems to primarily be affecting men.

When I first started thinking about the double standards and the issues brought up here, I felt guilty and conflicted myself, and thought maybe I was a sexist asshole or something. I'm glad I found this and realized that there is nothing wrong with the questions I pose and the ideas I was to discuss.

" Comedian Dave Foley jokes about child support". I don't see where the joke was, that was fucking heartbreaking.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
