It was partly meant to be an encouragement. There are too many people on reddit who are sad, miserable, negative, pessimistic, and reddit is an echochamber that perpetuates these negativities. Also what's wrong with encouragements? Do you want me to trashtalk OP or what?

I feel like you are having a pretty negative outlook about these. Here is what I think: Dating apps can work if you put some effort into your profile. Confidence, great pics, humor goes a long way. Online dating is a competition, but I don't think all men are disposable for women even in online dating. What is true that there are many more thirsty guys online than thirsty women, so that's why you feel that men are "disposable". I would try dating IRL if you can. Easier said than done but maybe there is someone you get along with well.
