I said what I had to say. I don't think this is a men's rights issue as much as it is simple whining. I don't think this thread reflects well on the community as whole. I think we should pick our battles wisely. The community as a whole appears to agree as this post has been downvoted to oblivion. 2	Success story, albeit minor, from a longtime lurker. Oh yes. I agree whole heartedly and thing it's also fairly unnecessary at this point. But, as long as it remains in place I don't think it's fair to men or women to force only males to register. 7	Success story, albeit minor, from a longtime lurker. As a woman who grew up wanting to go into the military, this really hits home. I'm now in college and it really isn't an option, but I was very happy to hear that combat roles had been opened up to women this January. I just hope the selective service evolves to include women also. Before pitchforks are distributed, are you sure this is the blog of Arianna Pattek? In this article, she is said to be a culture and politics major, while the blog clearly states that the author is a women's studies and philosophy major. Edit: Also, this article makes it pretty clear that she was in high school six years ago. The blog says she completed her doctorate in 2012. As for why it makes it seem as if the risks women took that day were somehow not equal to the men, that's pretty easy to find: For everyone that says men and women are equal in every way, sure, they're perfectly capable of being equal, but obviously, they're not they don't act equally. The video he posted only showed the site of the first bomb, and if you actually look at pictures and other video from the event, you will see a fair amount of women. It makes it seem as if the risks women took that day were somehow not as important as their male counterparts. Beyond that, this isn't a men's rights issue. 15	Releeeease the Radfems!!! Yes. I think it really helps the image of this subreddit to differentiate from radical feminism and regular feminism.
