We're talking about what determines whether one makes it (pressuposing you're trying to make it), not what determines the pool of possible people who make it, which is obviously down to social, cultural and historical factors. The point was that the two terms of the analogy are not functionally identical, therefore the analogy doesn't hold: the difference between hacking off a limb and surgery is nothing like the difference between shaving a female and male head precisely because the difference in skill, technique, time, risk etc between butchering and surgery is far greater than that between shaving a guys or girls head. no identify of relation, no true analogy.

I definitely agree. From my experience, there are plenty of women sympathetic to issues affecting men. The last thing this movement needs to become is some red pill varient, floundering in adolescent misogyny and false profundity. It discredits the issues we're trying to get noticed and makes us no better than the ideological form of feminism which is halting progress.

I'm not sure you understand how pay works. They don't pay certain people more for the funs; pay is determined by forces of supply and demand. Also, a lot of men are traditionally 'pushed' towards relatively low paying jobs too (manuel labour, plumbing etc). I agree that we shouldn't be overlooking true and legitimate feminist issues, but the pay gap just isn't one.
