I think a group of people (men and women - why not?) walking silently in handcuffs would be a pretty poignant statement. The best social equivalent to high heels I can think of for men is a necktie, but that's just not very evocative.

Thanks for the reasonable response. I actually agree strongly with the second half of the article, but I found myself rolling my eyes at the outrage over the demonstration itself. It seems unfair to indict these guys for doing something they likely saw as noble.

Hey asshole, I'm a guy and a supporter of men's rights in general. Re-read my comments without your head in your ass. wait...did I just get trolled? fuck.

No need to belittle my comment. This kind of reactive offended bullshit does nothing for men's rights. Just because this march is useless doesn't mean it has anything to do with discrimination against men, and the blogger's outrage is laughable and unnecessary. "In fact, the men gained nothing." Of course they gained nothing - they were marching to support a cause, however unnecessary that cause may be. Would they have gained something if they were marching to support cancer research or environm…

Who cares? They weren't forced to do it. Violence against women does happen, and while we're all very much aware of it, these guys were just doing something to feel like they were contributing. If you're offended by this, go ahead and organize a march to raise awareness of violence against men, and when no one gives a shit, THEN your complaints will have merit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
