1	Can someone please provide some explanation or analysis over what the hell is wrong with the men in Japan, and what exactly happened to them? Very surprised to see you on here. Productivity is practically synonymous with GDP per capita, for obvious reasons if you think about it. (Short of floating on a sea of oil, where does a country's wealth/money/stuff come from? To whom does it go? And you want per capita to eliminate the population issue.)
