....except this is in Canada, not America. And if you're saying it's still the "American way", then you don't have respect for Canada. Go ask a bunch of Canadians how well they like being lumped into the "well, it's pretty much America, anyway" argument.

Yeah, great movie. When it first came out I dismissed it (not having seen it or read the book) as a brad pitt often shirtless movie. I watched it for the first time at a friends house around 16 y/o. I was floored and each subsequent viewing gave me something more. Incredible movie, infinitely relatable, eternally haunting yet refreshing.

yeah for sure. give it a shot man, its pretty good stuff. i don't know, but its basically the first recorded discussion on self-discovery/journeys/etc. i hope you like it. i've found a lot of comfort in philosophy. i guess it just helps me to know that people much smarter than i have struggled with the same questions and issues.
