Thank you, these are really great examples, I think the problems I'd been thinking of were far too big to be honest.. These are really useful day to day examples to bear in mind - particularly thinking about the stressful situations and how stepping back and letting him lead will support both the situation itself and the long-term. Thanks again for the insight and examples!

Hi, thanks so much for this advice, honestly super helpful to see it laid out like this. Do you have any examples of this: ‘actually step back and let him lead and solve problems for you’. Just as I feel this will be an area that I could struggle, to not do it for myself on autopilot and it would be useful to start practicing.

Hi, given I’m so new to all of this I wouldn’t want to give any advice. But to share a bit more context on the issue I found with my husband, it was less around the difference in salaries and more that we were dependent on mine. It meant that if we had had children, it would have been a real struggle for me to take any meaningful time off work with them. Equally, he had potential to command a much higher salary but lacked the drive so that was also a frustration for me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
