girls as young as four believe they are cleverer, try harder and are better behaved than boys of the same age. Some things never change.

Holy fuck, this is comedy gold! In our day-to-day lives the only males we really have any contact with are the bratty 2- and 3-year-old sons of friends of ours. And we hate being subjected to the sight of their penises and just their overall male presence in general. and I should say that I’ve never been to MWMF, but my girlfriend and I have discussed perhaps going in the future.

Don't you understand?! This is just another example of the deep-seated gender bias in our society! Men would never ever laugh about a guy being beat up by a woman! Only women do that.

And that's the thing you don't get: the entire reason feminism is a figurative four-letter word - why the majority of young women don't even identify themselves as feminists - is because of exactly the same behavior that goes on here. You want your bitter little pity party, that's fine. But let's not pretend you're doing it to protect my rights.

Why not just rename this place /Misogyny and get it over with? I know this subreddit is ground-zero for every spurned boyfriend, husband, and guy who can't get a date but has it really gotten to the level that you're willing to blanket label your own mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and coworkers 'immature, petty, vindictive, entitled, self-centered, shallow, untrustworthy, morally deficient, disingenuous, and indisputably fucking dangerous' (but, hey, not all women are like that 'if you ins…

Wow. I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see this subreddit endorse forced abortion or the legal right to abandon a child. You lot might be males but you sure aren't men.

yojetak, hackiavelli: Congratulations, you're banned from http://www.reddit.com/r/MensRightslinks home of the men's rights reddit that doesn't tolerate misandry! Congratulations, I guess. No loss for me. The misandry allegation is quite stupid though. I'm male and very happy to be so. To steal a line from Louis C.K., if it was an option I would re-up every year. I'm just not a big fan of pity parties and don't think there's only enough room for one issue.

Christ, are you guys really so petty you have to take hundreds of women burning themselves to death to escape systematic oppression and twist it to your own pet cause? It's not like male suicide is ignored. The military in particular has received recent coverage.

That's downright embarrassing for Scientific American. Even by the looser standards of online blogs "stuff it up that hole of yours" isn't exactly appropriate for a leading publication. Jesse really needed a friend or editor to tell him to put the issue out of his mind, go home, and tackle it again the following day when he's not so emotional about it. And as a poster pointed out, a 2426 word rebuttal for a 308 word blog post is overkill. A little brevity and humor would have gone a long way. So…

It's a prime example of the feminist blogosphere's tendency to tap into the market force of what I've come to think of as "outrage world" Don't worry, the guys are catching up as evidenced by this very subreddit.

war against men There is no war against men. It's an excuse used by slackers, burnouts, and underachievers that strokes their ego and doesn't sound as immediately bullshit-y as blaming all their problems on the lizard people or international Jewish conspiracy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
