Fellow therapist here. I am actually leaving academia (sociology) because of research I did on the men's rights movement that made me recognize the vacuum of mental healthcare for men and the suffering they experience due to expectations you describe in the original post. I have heard from many male friends on the left that they experience conflict and confusion over their socialization as men and their values as leftists but feel they have nowhere to turn because they reject the treatment of masculinity by those in the redpill-oriented manosphere and find that open discussion of men's struggles with norms and behaviors around sex, relationships, dating, etc. is dismissed on the left.
