It sounds like you have a lot of blessings and good things in your life. Practice gratitude daily—that will open your heart to your husband more than anything else. And maybe practice a little stoicism—meaning, remind yourself that you are mortal. All of this could end tomorrow, you know? Everything is temporary. Maybe your husband will advance in his career in ways you never expected, or perhaps you’ll realize your dream of working from a home office and feel less stress—true! I hope that works…

“I feel I only get recognition/bonuses promotions if...” That’s not a feeling. That’s a belief. So evaluate: is it a true belief? From what you said about being promoted quickly, it doesn’t sound like it’s true. It sounds like you are valued and recognized. Don’t let your minor frustrations become resentments that blind you to reality.

Totally disagree. “Politeness” is socially constructed. In his circles and among his friends, bringing a bottle of wine to a dinner is not expected. Who even made that “rule”, anyway? You know who cares the most if we buy gifts and cards and shit for other people? The consumer industry. I like this guy’s simplicity. OP, there are many ways to be nurturing that don’t require giving gifts to others. Look for that in him. Does he have a generous spirit with his time? Does he help a friend in need? …
