I don't see why you insist on bringing up this point, as it is obvious that infants are not sexually active, no one would ever assert that they are. It is to provide protection later in life, as evidenced by these studies being done on the transmission rates of circumcised men not circumcised infants. I don't see your point - people make mistakes (having unprotected sex with someone with HIV) and reducing the chance of him getting infected by over half seems significant to me, among the other STD's and penile cancers that the article mentioned. Yes there are a lot of studies in africa but there have been some in the US that were mentioned in the original link i posted. It also mentions UTI's as being significantly less likely among circumcised men, among other things, but i do agree that STD's is a common concern. According to the CDC, circumcised males are 44% less likely to acquire HIV (up to 71% less likely in high risk populations, which i'd say is very significant).
