Positive gender role characteristics aren’t the ones you listed though. It might be considered traditional for a lot of families but if the father has good values and beliefs then their son usually believes and values the same thing. Same as a single Mother would pass on her values if the child’s father wasn’t in their life. Which is why I said that she could take on that role. I think a mothers role is harder to fill because of the instant attachment the child has to her. The biological father could do it easier than others if he wanted to but it takes time for someone else to build that connection to provide the emotional needs for a child. Maybe that’s why a lot of people relate to having an “evil step-mother” :’)
