3	What the fucking fuck?! Woman fatally stabs a man from the backseat of the car he's driving. FOUND NOT GUILTY. Simple explanation: journalism. No one would read about these things if they said the jury was presented with X, Y, and Z as evidence which, though it suggested defendant was guilty of a crime, was not entirely conclusive and the jury accordingly acquitted because they were not persuaded the defendant was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I would bet that child abduction/kidnapping/whatever is a specific intent crime, meaning that the action alone is insufficient to constitute an offense--you would need some kind of intent to keep the child or deprive the parent, etc. Jury nullification wouldn't even come into the picture, there's a clear reason to acquit since the intent is obviously lacking given that the kid was trying to find the mother.
