I had a tough childhood but I didn't view it that way till I got older and met more people who lived really "normal" lives. Normally harsh conditions can make us mature faster and though it might not seem traumatic. I dont think trauma is always subjective. Objective trauma is normally used to describe events. how you described your childhood, most would call traumatic, but this doesn't have to mean you are traumatized or experiencing trauma. If a child were to see their father get hit by a car …

Women want a more experienced man. I'm sorry but this isn't true.

Plus, men with high body counts are men who usually try hard to have a ton of sex with different women, which is usually indicative of low self-esteem and desperation for their peer’s approval, something I personally find very unattractive Completely agree! I wish more men understood this. I've explained it to some and some just don't get it or think I'm lying. I've turned down plenty of men who had a promiscious past.

yep! i think on the internet or some people in general make it sound like no men like that exist or no women in this day and age exist and I think that view is just pessimistic and kind of arrogant. Ive met both men and women who choose to wait.

I don't think that's always the case. I've seen women like Op get shamed by other women or mocked for having their preferences. I've met other women who also want a guy who doesn't have a promiscious past, (Of course the men who expect women to remain celibate while they get to sleep around are delusional.) I think point of women like Op is because that is their personal values and they expect to meet a man who holds similar values and I've met a good amount of men who do. I see both men and wom…

I don't think one guy can speak for the majority just like I don't think one woman can speak for majority. Guys will always use an example of one bad girl they dated to show that all women are cheaters and don't want a nice guy etc etc. I think normally both of these types have their own issues. whether it be a mother that neglected them or a father. I've met men like your ex who say one thing but do another. Some people just don't know what they actually want and need to work on their past issu…

the why doesn't change the outcome. if he hit her, it would still be abusive. We don't know if she is toxic but even then, there are other ways to deal with these things. healthier ways. the man not knowing how to control his alcohol is also telling, seems he isn't the best with self-control and this is 100% not only the wifes fault.

thats not how it works, at all. if you used this same logic with other things, you could easily be in jail lol. Everybody thinks they are right, doesn't give any excuse to be calling your spouse those names. There are better ways to solve things. resorting to name calling especially how the husband ( who has issues with alcohol) is verbal abuse. if he hit her would you say " she might have deserved it " ? the logic doesn't work. it's simply immature and in this case abuse.

if he called kevin samuels himself , kevin would not have nice things to say to him. For some reason lot of men like to cherrypick this content, and only watch when they talk specifically to women but ignore the hard advice he gives to men. Also the women that would go on the show, were specific looking for men with 6 figure salaries and wanting to be stay at home moms and he would ask them what did they bring? and then women would get mad. Does your mom sound like any of that? chances are she's…

I honestly think it's a lottt more intimidating at the start but once you learn the basics, it'll come easy to you and you won't need to even look at a recipe, you can throw something good together off your head. I think the phrase " you need to learn the rules before you can break them " can be applied with cooking. Find simple recipes that look good and get use to making them. I think the youtube channel Tasty is good for this. Everyone makes mistakes when starting off. Maybe look up a Chili r…

It's a lot easier said then done and viewing things from a third person perspective isn't ever the same as experiencing it first hand. I don't think we can judge you or blame you for feeling the way you do. but voicing how you feel to him, letting him know you don't feel appreciated, isn't a bad thing on your part. you're communicating. An understanding man would take it into consideration, understand he's not perfect himself and maybe he doesn't thank you enough. He should care more about how y…

you sound like you're in love with him but it seems unrequited. He doesn't respect you. respect is a must. you are not ungrateful. you don't mention much about the fights and things you two were fighting about but being alone out there with no friends or family to talk to. you think he would be a little more understanding of your own needs. you're not a robot, you're a human with feelings. you cut off your friends because he didn't like them? it's toxic. you became co-dependent on him but it was…

I'm not saying to break up but not to expect him to change. Since your relationship is still relatively new, these things may not seem that big of a deal now, but a year or two down the line it will be. 8 months is still what people call the honeymoon phase. you should be happy that's good but he should also care about your feelings, especially this early on in the relationship. you clearly care about his, you're reluctant to speak on how you feel cause you think it might upset him. I think the …

there's nothing wrong with you being irritated for that. it's normal. what isn't normal s him making these comment or digging for a reaction 8 months in. it shows lack of maturity on his part. He should value you and want to gain your attraction. you have all the right to feel skeptical. it's expected. Its like adding 2+2 but being surprised it led to 4.

you can't change people. you can change your response though. I don't think whether she responds negatively to him or positively it will change him and his insecurities but for her own well being she should use your method. That said too many get into serious relationships with men hoping they will change for them. They won't. As you grow older you need to learn how to set proper boundaries in relationships and then act on it. Don't just say something but also mean it. It teaches others to value…

you've been with him for 6 years and he talks down to you like that? why is he with you then? what does that say about him? he's spent 6 years with you and is still undecisive? it says a lot about him. this man is not meant for marriage. he is just making up excuses and lacks maturity. He is being manipulative and trying to make you think he is the best you will ever get. it's insecurity on his part. he does not speak for all men either... my friend was in abusive relationships in her teens beca…

it's easier from a third person perspective to see. she's in love with him and hurt. needs a little wake up call.

He might make it come off that way but I think a good man would be understanding because he should worry on those things too about you. Don't come at him aggressively. If he gets very defensive or upset or acts like there was nothing wrong with it, shows signs he might want to try it again. "just with the boys" then take caution. there's nothing wrong with you being concerned. Women have to be picky.

Look I think the female instinct is strong for a reason. Trust your gut. easier said than done cause some people brush it up as just being emotional. I don't think you are. this is something that happened and it shows you a reckless side of him. It's important to figure this stuff out before you make a serious decision like marriage. I know women who ignored one two many small incidences like this only to be stuck with a man they later found they didn't like all that much. I think it is a major …

crusty musty might not be best description cause it makes it sound like its only women who don't take care of themselves or the quiet ones. ive met plenty of attractive women that take very good care of themselves, that appear very social, that are still incredibly insecure and competitive with other woman. 0 confidence despite all the work they put in.

oh no, I think this is honestly terrible advice men are receiving. I really pity men who take it so literal.

Him saying he wants to exercise his options when you two are already engaged shows immense immaturity on his part and lack of respect for you. He doesn't seem to know what he wants at the last minute. you're right it would not be wise to bring in children with a man who wants to mess around like a teenager still, what often happens is the woman is left to be a single mom. What if he contracts an STD? How much effort and time is he putting into "exercising options" often times it's a lot and almo…

I think you bring a good point. two people working but the wife doing all the work is a mix of modern relationship and old fashion one but it's unfair to the female to keep up with both. if the woman is doing all the housework the man should take on more of a provider role to show his appreciation. issue is that doesn't always happen and everything is 50/50 but the woman is still expected to pick up after the man. it doesn't have to be said with words but in these relationships it often comes of…

I think the ben franklin affect is real and works, you see it in job settings often when a boss asks one specific person for a favor, but also seems like talking about two different things. often the woman who complain their husbands aren't helping out enough are also working full time jobs along with their husbands but the husband expects them to do housework on top of it. a lot of woman on this sub seem to want to be a housewife but it isn't always an option for people with lower incomes. if t…

he had an ego moment. it was a narcissistic comment. you weren't being overly sensitive. no it isn't okay for him to say. he should learn to control his own emotions that being his ego. He wanted to come off like this tough guy who can have his way with a woman if he wanted, including you but you're "oh so lucky" he didn't do that to you. your intuition set up some red flags that it wasn't okay, and you were right. no it's not okay for him to say. if it's the first time then.. you don't need to …

at the end of the day I think everyone kind of wants the same thing. Humans are not meant to be lonely. In a world of billions you;d be insane to think you are the only one who wants a partner the way you do. It's out there you just gotta look in the right places. It's better not to actually go looking and to live your life. work on yourself, your confidence and all and eventually you'll stumble upon right person. just don't think you'll find them at a bar.

I've been in your friend's position a few times. Where my friends have had a crush on a guy and he will end up crushing on me. It leaves me in an awkward place and often times my friends will take it out on me. Though I wasn't always very feminine nor did I dress really well or wear any makeup and this would happen. In fact, I actually did the opposite at one point because of this. I'd dress down. Now I don't care and just dress how I want but I think the biggest thing is just having confidence.…

I think the best thing u can do is work on yourself as a person and let it happen naturally. If u are actively looking for a significant other, guys catch on to that and usually find it off-putting. I find it off-putting if I notice a guy is like this. Live your life as you would, maybe try joining some club in your area of some hobby you enjoy. Try not to focus on finding a man. Usually, it's moments when you're just living your life that people seem to find their s.o. I don't know much about y…
