Amazon is apparently making a prequel LOTR TV series. I don't see signs of it being overtly feminist, though, as the cast seems quite diverse. However, I'm confident the writers will still manage to fuck it up somehow. It's impossible to separate modern writers from the societal issues that surround them, so even if the show isn't consciously feminist, issues like that could still reflect in the show's subtext. I hope I'm wrong, of course, and the show is awesome, but I won't hold my breath.
