Much of the internet these days is toxic af in all directions. The prevalence of normalized misandry is pretty high on Reddit and probably a lot of other social media. This is why I mostly stay off social media these days. I just ignore the online bullshit. It doesn't make any of it right, but it's also not real life. There are lots of women in real life who like men and don't automatically assume you're a bad person for being male. Most of the shit you see online are from terminally online peop…

The tl,dr is that I think she felt slut shamed by society and tried to resolve that shame by trying to convince herself that I took advantage of her. I want to write a very detailed account of this because I believe it is a good case study on how this stuff happens and is the kind of thing these studies are examining to learn more about. I also think sharing my experience will be helpful for others here who have been falsely accused and hopefully it will help both men and women who read this to …

I agree. The real irony is that the term was originally coined by a lonely young woman struggling to form romantic and sexual relationships. She wanted further research on it so that she and others struggling like her OF BOTH GENDERS could get the help they needed to be able to form these connections and relationships because they are vital to good mental health. Often people, again both men and women, struggle with this due to issues ranging from social anxiety and autism to childhood trauma an…

Well this helps to validate my experiences after being falsely accused twice, once purely due to embarrassment (she apologized and asked me out a week later after dragging my reputation through the mud to all mutual friends), while the other was due to a desire for attention and getting to be sympathetized as a victim (again, destroying my reputation and making me a target for physical retribution from long term close male mutual friends, mostly at the urging of their girlfriends, all without ev…

I watched my mom go through three marriages, the first two being horrible and the last ending in his death, but that marriage was toxic as fuck too. My bio dad left the country when he couldn't get 50-50 custody of me because he was a lying, manipulative asshole. I have zero desire to ever get married. At age 42 now, I'm watching multiple marriages fall apart, often with kids being fought over. I have exactly one close friend who's in a happy, childless marriage. Personally I'm good. People say …

That's because he's become so enlightened about gender and identity politics that his cock has literally gotten so big that it now hangs low. Before he had this epiphany, he was Professor Nocock.

This is a huge part of the problem. Data shows that Gen Z males are more conservative on average than their parents, something that hasn't happened in 80 years. Meanwhile, Gen Z females are even more liberal than previous generations. The left tells women and girls that the patriarchy and men and even boys in general are the cause of essentially all their problems and they promise an easy fix, giving the green light to "get revenge" on men as reparations for millennia of misogyny (as though west…

One of the bigger subs (can't remember which one) auto banned me awhile back because I'm subscribed to this sub. The auto message stated that this was a hate sub.

I think a major issue facing men, mental health and good male role models/mentors is that, if you grow up without a father figure in your life, where will you find a good male role model, especially one you can talk candidly with as you would with any good father figure/mentor? Most teachers are women. 75% of therapists are women. The courts overwhelmingly favor giving kids to mothers rather than fathers. Over half of all marriages end in divorce. Many of those failed marriages involve kids, and…

How about we say that sexual assault is pretty fucking bad given how much it fucks up male and female victims? We can still say that AND say that society cares a whole lot more when it happens to women than men. You shouldn't pontificate about how bad you think being a victim of sexual assault or any other crime is when you've never experienced it yourself and you shouldn't give your opinion on what is the worst part of SA if you haven't experienced it yourself. The truth is that it's different …

As a man, I would rather meet a bear in the woods than a woman. I have been trained on how to deal with bear encounters in the wild and they are actually more scared of you than you are of them. I have actually encountered bears in the woods multiple times without incident. Women are way more of a wildcard than bears. She might falsley accuse me of physical and/or sexual assault for monetary personal gain or simply an ego boost or she might have others with her who will rob me. She might be help…

I got auto banned from r/offmychest for the same reason. Actually someone had posted a story here where several people including myself felt like he was intentionally leaving out some key details in his post and I simply stated I was reserving judgement until OP provided additional details. This was enough to trigger the auto ban, stating I posted in a red pill sub and they don't allow red pill posters to post on their sub. Something tells me I would have been ok if I'd posted on twox or a femin…

Cool, so let's stop fighting with each other. We're on the same team here, we've both been subjected to discrimination due to our gender, and we're both working for the same goals.

As I said before since apparently you can't read, I speak out in real life regularly about my very personal experiences being discriminated against as a man in order to raise awareness, even at the detriment sometimes to my personal reputation. I also don't blame other men who have been victims of discrimination for being male for being responsible for their own discrimination. So now I ask you again, what have you done for men aside from treating some of them like shit for no good reason and di…

All I'm saying is that other groups, such as Blacks and homosexuals as just a few examples, are far more marginalized than men in general. I have never had to worry about a feminist KKK trying to lynch me. My male ancestors weren't murdered in a holocaust just because they were men. I'm much more scared when dealing with cops than most women are because I'm male, but I'm not nearly as worried about a cop shooting me or something since I'm white. There's someone in this thread who says he's Black…

Exactly. Just another example of discrimination being treated as a zero sum game, which it almost always is not and certainly is not here. It's responsible to run commercials making statements that insinuate one group gets treated better than another group, especially when the latter group statistically gets dismissed more than the former group.

Hey btw, I'm sorry if I came across as dismissive of your experience. That is absolutely fucked that that's all you got for testicular torsion. I was just emphasizing how neuropathic pain disorders require docs to believe you have it since they can't test for it. Under medicating with analgesics for a clearly diagnosed condition, possibly due to gender, absolutely happens. I'm going to try to find data on this. I'm sorry you had that experience and I hope you're doing better.
/r/MensRights12/04/24 06:59 PM

Yeah I get where you're coming from here and don't entirely disagree, but men have already gotten less attention for neurological pain than women because various neuropathic disorders are slightly more common than women. We definitely don't need this bullshit that has female patients baselessly claiming they think men would get treated better than them. I fear that this kind of thing, where they explicitly say men get treated better, does more damage than good for men suffering from these things…

Yeah, the real issue is that these types of pain get dismissed by the entire medical profession regardless of the patient's gender. That should be what we're talking about here. Men aren't being taken any more seriously than women with these kinds of neuropathic/idiopathic pain issues. It's not at all a gendered issue, but this commercial makes it into one with claims that they don't even back up, literally just women saying they "feel" they'd be taken more seriously as a man. Have they seen how…

Unfortunately with the ongoing opioid crisis, docs are often more hesitant to prescribe pain meds, especially when there's no definitive underlying condition that shows up on scans, which most neuropathic pain does not. Instead, you're likely to get treated as a drug seeker or a hypochondriac. This is not a gendered issue though. You're likely to be treated like this if you suffer from chronic neurological pain with no identifiable underlying cause, regardless of gender. This commercial heavily …

Many chronic neurological pain conditions are refractory to pharmaceutical and other interventions, plus they don't show up on any scans or tests which leads to doctors dismissing the patient and their symptoms. The thing is that this happens to both men and women suffering from these conditions, so making it all about women as though men don't receive the same dismissive response from docs is incredibly disingenuous to the point of being overtly sexist. The one woman even says something to the …

Wow, I'm a man who developed neurological pain since 2021 and have dealt with these exact same issues, although of course I wasn't told it was a women's issue, but rather just that I "shouldn't be having it" (gee thanks multiple docs), I would love to explain that to these women that this type of pain gets dismissed by docs regardless of gender, and even more so for male patients since women make up the statistical majority, albeit by not that much. Why does chronic neuropathic and other forms o…

So I want to preface this by saying that I don't think I'm a major victim due to being male, and just about everyone deals with discrimination to some degree, but there are some specific instances that come to mind regarding this. When I was a freshman in college, I went with a bunch of hallmates, mostly female, to walk down the very crowded downtown street where it's tradition to walk there on Halloween. We're all shoulder to shoulder because it's so crowded. One girl in my group suddenly screa…

Also the massive gender disparity in the homeless population is probably worth talking about as well, even though it's never mentioned.

I'm reserving judgement until we get more info and I understand how it might be hard to articulate stuff if emotions are high, but going out of his way to not say what his joke was is usually what people do when they're trying to minimize what they said or did just like you said.

Exactly what I thought when I read that. The guy's reaction was a textbook example of how victims of abusive relationships react when someone confronts their abuser.
