And I hate when people misuse the term "gender" when what they really mean is "sex," which is the only term that really means something biologically.

It doesn't force good form at all though. No, bouncy momentum reps aren't good, but most of the muscle building, pump creating action is in the positive portion of the movement, focusing on contracting the correct muscles in a natural motion. I've seen a lot of gym idiots doing slow negatives but clearly not getting a good contraction and never making progress (i.e. the infamously mediocre Ian McCarthy). I don't think it's particularly helpful and I also think Mike Mentzer was a mildly insane id…

Same here. I've been experimenting and poring over nutrition science studies on a near constant basis since I first got into bodybuilding, and especially when I hit my early 20's and had some health issues. At first, I didn't even understand the value of fiber aside from colon health. Now I recognize that fiber is not only crucial for the health of every tissue in the body, but that every source of fiber has essentially its own unique effects (not to mention the thousands of accompanying phytonu…

I think that's definitely true, but some guys are also not very perceptive or critical when it comes to the effects of things they're eating. My gyno was reversed with tamoxifen and avoiding estrogenic foods, but when I had it, it was very clear which foods were making it worse by binding to those estrogen receptors. Soy, cheap refined fat foods with no fiber (which probably had an indirect effect on endogenous estrogen), too much stone fruit, and plastic were all extremely clear culprits when i…

I really hated that initial post acting like plastic water bottles would turn you into a sniveling soyboy (although you can bet your ass that heated greasy food in a plastic container will confer noticeable and measurable estrogenic activity... I, ahem, had a short bout of gyno which was extremely responsive to anything estrogenic, and those suckers stung and doubled in size within an hour of eating lasagna heated up in a cheap plastic sandwich tupperware). I didn't have the time, energy, nor wh…

I didn't mean single moms; I meant mothers who are fully supported by the husband and whose sole responsibility is looking after the kids. If a man were in the same position and he was as effective at that job as most stay at home moms are, his provider wife would demand a divorce. I totally agree with you that being a mother is the most fitting and important role for a woman, but the reality is that, ignoring the financial support perspective, they still need ample help from the father to do it…

I never said women are dumb and I certainly don't believe that, but the best way to break this down is with a bevy of common sense, and the best place to start, much like when you're first beginning to learn nutrition science or medicine, is with a fundamental understanding of biology and its functions. And, of course, we're somewhat aware of the history of men and women across thousands of cultures over thousands of years. Women tend to want to believe that socialization is everything, and they…

This applies to both the bottom 5th percentile and the 95th percentile subsections of the population. Genetic quality being equal, there are global differences between men and women that can be particularly challenging for men to accept. Acceptance really is key, however; otherwise, for the rest of your days, women will challenge your sense of self and what your rational mind tells you is right. I strongly believe most divorces boil down to these underlying, fundamental differences and the inabi…

I agree, the comfort with risk thing is why women will always respect you when you go straight in the pooper without asking.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
