You should also create a subreddit for Kansas City seddit. Take a look at the side bar. We have ones for New York, SF, Tokyo, etc. This will become more than a one time meeting and you'll meet tons of friends.

I wouldn't make up an excuse about the friends bailing. If anything, this is a DLV since it implies that you are friends with flaky, unfun people that may have not cared to inform you until the last minute. Just be honest if the topic comes up. People respect honesty especially if you decided to go your own way and come out to a bar on your own.

All these mind games you're playing with the paying and the not talking to her seem completely unnecessary and risky to me. Maybe you're going after low self esteem girls if they're willing to put up with jumping through all these hoops. IMO momentum is the greatest asset you have when starting a relationship with somebody. Make her feel good on the first meeting and at the end tell her about the epic adventure you guys are both going on for the next date while you've got her hooked.

JihadDerp, I love humor as much as the next person, but I would rather downvote most attempts to be funny because honestly, Reddit has a hard time handling humor. Take a look at the front page for example. Serious topics have joke responses, memes or other nonsense as their most upvoted comments. Comments that are serious responses to the initial post degrade into joke threads by typically the 3rd comment down the tree. It wasn't always like this and I don't want to see this happen to seddit. Have you tried this on complete strangers or only people you already knew a little? The paying part would be way easier to pull off if you already knew the person. Another way to get them to pay (if you're really intent on taking that risk; there's always splitting the bill) is to tell her she can get this one and you'll get the next and then mention the next date right there and then. Skip some headaches and keep the momentum of the interaction moving.
