Men want arm candy > someone we're attracted to is nice a boost in social status > only insofar as "smart and nice" is a boost comfort, nurture, stability > who doesn't want someone kind and loyal career success > most men don't care and excitement > no, you want this If men can only exhibit this 2% of the time you're dating exclusively sociopaths. You're either exaggerating or picking the wrong dudes. Maybe try dating older or consider you could be the problem.

I read this in the sad female voice-over from V for Vendetta to make it more painful

You can go coddle up with the old women mate

I imagine the virginity thing is due to STDs and disease, which can be passed on but also make women infertile. It's a hardwired thing. In the modern age they can be tested for and treated. It's also insecurity. Any man who would insist on that is either hyper religious, a red flag or both. I wouldn't be concerned with what they believe or want

Yeah, I don't see why anyone would hold out for reasons that weren't religious, so anyone who would make that demand I think it should be reasonably expected will only be part of the religious community who shares the same values. If not, claims of abstinence are pretty suspect. This person clearly did not deserve to be cheated on, no one does, let alone to be humiliated. That said they're powerful hardwired biological urges and suppressing them is impractical for most people.

Uh, no. I think it's perfectly possible for a man to love a woman and also hold a reasonable expectation of having their sexual needs met, as opposed to suppressing basic sexual needs for 2 years dating, 1 year of engagement and hoping nothing goes wrong.

Who said they did. He was a jerk, you get off to violent gore involving a real-world person. I'd say he dodged a perhaps literal bullet

No sex before marriage is too big of an ask for most men, sans devoutly religious men.

The kind of woman who fucks a construction worker after being whistled at would never find Reddit.

I, of course, agree with this. Not the method listed by op, however. Implying you're well off enough to take care of your partner is fair game.

It could just be the person willing to share their sexuality online is less likely to elsewhere or exhibits some trepidation over the risks of in-person sexual behavior.

So you want to only be nice and also be unfunny and ugly and have no other redeeming traits, your words, not hygiene, physical fitness, career, anything. I'm sorry but niceness is the bare minimum, there are plenty of nice people out there. And as the original post states, oftentimes niceness is mistaken for just saying yes to everything, which is hard to respect or find attractive.

This is your life story. You cheated. Do better next time. Get over it. "Hey we're breaking up. We're roommates now." Any threat > restraining order. It's cowardice. Let me guess, dissatisfaction leading to coldness and communications breakdown then the guys suddenly out of the blue gains an alcohol problem. It's showing someone basic respect to treat them like a human being and yes there's a risk involved.

That's why men cheat too, we're dissatisfied with the lack of sexual novelty. It's no excuse. Break up.

I don't like it when guys complain about female shallowness as if they too aren't shallow, like the woman we find attractive in popular media, adult film, everyday life, etc. Physical fitness is hot and symmetry indicates health. They play it off by saying they're okay with the ugly and out of shape women but that's often lust and not their preference. Women have an innate advantage in dating because they select for attractiveness but also competence, as pregnancy is a risk to their health and t…

That would be unfavorable to you, yes. Might have to work harder to find men with similar interests who are also sexually disinterested.

Is it worse though? I believe it's simply different. If someone wants intimacy and companionship, sex or kids, they will be compelled to behave different and perhaps better toward that person. If not, it could be argued as a waste of time. So it's not necessarily the pessimistic view of treating someone worse, but being more tolerant and understanding of a person's behavior if you're aiming to build something beyond friendship.

You ask why things can't be platonic, but how much control do you have over your attraction? Should a person deal with pent up desires and unrequited love? If friendship is based on honesty, and you have feelings for a person, do you lie and pretend they don't exist? What if a person's idiosyncrasies or general personality isn't appealing enough to you unless sex and romance is involved? And bringing up respect, it would probably be easier if some women were up front about their intentions inste…

As a guy, this is dumb as fuck. Women have a much higher risk called pregnancy. If you can't go a bit of time to get to know someone before risking a child with them, they're right to deny you.
