This is so disgusting. My ex that raped me stalked me irl just to tell me that he hopes every boyfriend or man that gets close to me rapes me. why do men 🤨
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/06/21 10:02 PM
14

We're both 20 and only a few weeks apart. I have been preyed on and he told me he was preyed on before, but this one was a choice...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/06/21 07:11 PM
18

He said this right after someone called me the "mom friend" of the group. This made me think what your comment mentioned exactly!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/06/21 06:40 PM
19

That's also what I was thinking! He kept saying that he knows what he wants and also wants a partner who does too, which is realistic yea, but literally you can be 47 and not know what you want lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/06/21 06:39 PM

[me reading these comments going into law school 😳😳]
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/06/21 01:22 AM

Yes!! In my culture it's disgraceful if the woman or her family put any money into the wedding unless it's her wedding dress. Honestly when I see the opposite or where I live now, I can say it's one thing in my culture I approve of

This stuff is so corny 😭😭!! A grown person that does not know how to cook or clean is not a reliable adult, let alone capable of a mature relationship 😐
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/05/21 07:34 AM
5

I WAS GOING TO POST HIM TODAY, literally the whole reason why I watched the adaptation of Shadow & Bone 😭
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/05/21 09:09 PM
11

I swear I've seen this happen before. At least that's a clear sign of gaslighting and victim blaming to go and run 😭
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:41 PM
5

Hello!! Thanks for responding!! I absolutely agree that it shouldn't be discussed, so I was asking how I could close it with a "I don't want to talk about it" without giving my details bc it'd be someone new.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:40 PM
10

Helloo thank you for responding! I didn't want to share those details, personally i think it's rude for someone to ask about it (such as a body count), but I was asking what a vague phrase to shut down that convo could be. None of my friends even know about it, I wouldn't tell some guy that would use it against me or find it as a way to create a new recipe of hurt
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:39 PM
5

Thanks for responding! And yes, I wasn't going to bring in all the details I was wondering how to get the conversation to close instead of me giving those details, because I don't trust anyone with them, let alone someone I'd vet. I wanted a vague answer equivalent, bc i dont feel confy sharing it at all lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:37 PM
4

Hey love thank you for resonding! i've read the handbook, i wanted to know how to shut down that conversation on my end bc I don't feel comfortable giving out those details, but also dont want to say something like "my ex was a scumbag". Imo, I don't like people asking about ex's because they're using that info as a new way to hurt you. Sorry if my comment sounded inappropriate for the sub 🙏🏼
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:34 PM
5

Thank you for your response! Oh yes obviously I wouldn't say the details, so what would be my vague way of shutting the situation down? Imo and because of my experiences, i think it's rude to ask about someone's ex, we're here now and healthier, so why? or maybe that's just me 😬
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 02:31 PM
41

I loved your post!! I do have a question for our side tho-as someone who has been assaulted by every ex i've had, is it unfair to claim the same phrase? My aim isn't to smear someone's name but to show that I haven't had the best xp and i'm not sure how to describe that in a FDS-aimed way
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 07:36 AM

Tb to the good old days of watching his shows w my parents AHHH
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 07:32 AM

Oh no!!! Is there anything besides sharing we can do to help? Like anyone in that area suffering as well?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/05/21 07:30 AM
58

Hellooo! I'm also a muslim woman and this made me feel so inspired! I noticed the culture around our religion mixes too frequently, making it seem like we're SUPPOSED to get married early, when really we are have our own independence that we deserve. I hope you're safe on all your travels and you never stop being the sunshine that you are ☀️💕
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 06:30 PM

Dude that doesn't sound like much a friend, why is he still in your life?? Block his ass

As you should!!! So proud of you🤍
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 04:22 PM

I hate that they've used these tactics on you, and I hope you know that is never your responsibility and you should know that people that are mentally available and healthy to be in a relationship will be self-aware and never use it as an excuse

15

This. This. This.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 07:36 AM
24

I'm so sorry you went through that. People always think bringing a common situation is how they connect, but it's such an unattractive feature in people to make it about them. I hope you're getting the help you need and you are leveling up as you deserve 🤍
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 07:35 AM
21

Yes!! The so different about you is bait to make you feel special when it's just to trap you into listening for on and on
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 07:34 AM
95

I remember this and it's very heartbreaking that women are blamed for this when it is no one's responsibility to hold someone's life and everyone deserves help in those moments, not the immense hate she got and still gets!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/05/21 07:33 AM
24

I agree!! I feel women are less likely to weaponize their issues and are more mature when they express these topics

I'm so glad you had such lovely influences in your life!! I do notice that as well, and I hate that she may view me as a threat that challenges her than a positive change in the world. Hopefully the future holds brighter days!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:49 AM
7

I've noticed this before!!! It's nore admired to sacrifice like our mothers than change, and I pray those aren't her intentions, but then again, that is a cultural learned trait and would not blame her if it was.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:48 AM
5

Of course, i'm sure everyone acts ways for a reason, and I can only pray and hope that she grows to be more comfortable with her decisions knowing she did her best with the tools given to her at the time (i have the information from the internet and FDS, so)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:47 AM

Yes!!! I feel it's been so difficult in such a culture to havr this mentality and I am trying my hardest to break away from that (which unfortunately had me rejecting my culture for a while) thank you for this comment, queen!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:46 AM

I will still keep my hard work up, and I know deep down she must be a HVW without the tragedies that surrounded her mentally and physically. I hope that as I grow older it can be a place of comfort rather than resent, thank you so much for this🤍

I'm so heartbroken that happened with you. I hope you know you deserve all the "high" standards that you had and that you live your life to the fullest on your own terms..stay safe love xx
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:43 AM

I feel so bad that she went through so much, but this seems like a likely coping mechanism to all of it :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 06:42 AM
17

Oh! Well i'm also pretty sorry to hear that :( I agree with all your points! I think it's said that the ending is when the male orgasms as i've noticed is an inconsiderate approach honestly.... Sorry I don't have a lengthy response, but I was very interested reading yours and completely agree!! I wish you all the best and that you have a safe and comfortable experience next time with the right person!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/03/21 12:13 AM
28

No worries! I didn't take it that way anyways!! I think foreplay is sex and is a part of sex and that most of the time, sex is just seen as going in/out. I think sex starts with the buildup, the passion, and hands/tongue and basically anything that's not direct penetration? Correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not a sex expert as I never had anything consensual as my xp lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:19 PM

I'm so glad you feel comfortable in your relationship down to these small things, I hope the respect and encouragement continues into HVM qualities in the future:)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:16 PM

I think it matters how you define smart as well, we all get rejected and are naive at some point, but there are also opportunities to get education that some gender may have an upper hand. I have not met many smart men in my life, maybe like 3.5 really intelligent and well rounded men, but I haven't been to the whole the world and don't want to assume that. I think anyone who wants to try, and puts in effort, can be smart. Many different cultures also play a factor when encouraging development o…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:14 PM
103

I always wondered this as well!! It's almost as foreplay is nonexistent to these people :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:10 PM
12

I am so sorry you had to go through that, i hope you know you deserve to be happy and put your life first! What I told her about wasn't a boyfriend, it was a friend that raped me and she claimed that I was stupid for dating, when I wasn't. I do think she has a alot of regrets we spoke of before, and I know she definitely feels defensive at the feminism because of it. Your guesses were pretty on point and i really appreciate your comment, as you are not alone and you deserve the best🤍
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:08 PM

The nickname in the end....I am convinced they copy these from somewhere because it sounds so familiar. You sound like a great human being, and I'm glad you've left someone that had qualities you don't stand for, that takes a lot of strength! You deserve the best and to not settle for compliments that string you into things. Take care x
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 11:05 PM
12

I am so sorry to hear where that relationship drove you, but you are not alone. I felt I was reading my own journal entry reading your post, and I think it's important to stay out of relationships until you are able to love yourself enough to nurture your amazing qualities of intuitiveness and intelligence!! You must prioritize yourself, even if you feel you don't deserve it, you have to convince yourself that you DO deserve good things. Just because someone is unhealthy and familiar doesn't mea…

So sorry this happened to you and you don't feel safe!! Just know that all good deeds don't go unnoticed and I hope deep down she will realize it and gets out. Until then, please take care of yourself and try your best to move forward. It was kind of you to try and help out, but she knew she was helping him cheat, so i'm not sure how far that kindness may reach. Please keep safe and file a restraining order if possible, and get something to become aware (cameras, dog, security) when random peopl…

It's a way of stringing you along to keep you hooked emotionally, and they can come back with a sorry excuse when they feel like being a partner again. If someone isn't communicating to you early on about small things, that can be your sign in the future. Until then, block & delete and know you are worthy of so much better🤍
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 10:49 PM

Damn girl I'll buy you the same shoes just so you don't have to give in to the pity letter!!! I literally got the same type of email from an ex and i am APPALLED that we must've dated the same man ahah...hope you are safe and glad you know your worth🤍

Oh my god this show was spectacular I was so sad they didn't take her seriously (even tho it wasn't completely real)

I don't use it very often anymore (<1 hour a day to talk to friends in DM's) and I found it hard because it breaks down everything even in that time and I was looking to overcome that. Of course I love to keep well rounded by reading, do school work (a lot 🥲 ) and exercise/hang out with friends and take care of family. I just wish the fraction of time I use on SM didnt cause this damage it makes me feel fragile tbh
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/03/21 07:26 PM
1

I try not to stay on social media <1 hour a day, because I use it to message friends, but I fee even then it's exhausting and I wanted to overcome this rather than have it broken down in a split second :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/03/21 07:24 PM

HEEEEE feels disrespected??? Girl good for you that you dropped his ass. I hope you learn healthy intimacy and heal from this garbage behavior and never settle and lose years on some NVM :(🤍

I just saw this because the sub reopened, but thank you so much! I am trying to get in a better place and people like you on FDS have helped me get there🤍

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:42 PM

This is such a sad truth. It's so hard for even women cops to be protected for these same reasons of not being taken seriously
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:41 PM
134

Throwback to when my ex left me because I was raped :))) He kept pestering me asking why I didn't want to be touched or do anything and when I didn't gave him a "satisfactory" reason, and I opened up about what happened to me, he said it was disgusting and I lied and we broke up. I hope everyone knows that you deserve to feel safe and to know it's not your fault and you deserve someone who is strong enough to help you get the support you need rather than more judgement<3
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:40 PM

(adding on to another comment here) "I was joking" I said something stupid and when you were angry with me, i'll gaslight you into thinking you're wrong
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:37 PM
38

I do this and one time I read that we've become accustomed to this because men will respect other men before they dare to respect our boundaries...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:35 PM
59

This is horrendous. So many women and young aren't even protected by the "defenders" they report to :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 08:34 PM

I might be a newbie but when I was told my rapes weren't my fault, I got a different type of closure. I didn't downvote you either, because you have a great point. (Sorry if my comment came off rude in anyway) I agree that the girls and one boy should not have had their PTSD triggered, and I wish there was a way to teach it without going through this. I'd love to hear from you as to how I can educate myself on how we could better to teach these things without triggering survivors. I'd love to ha…

They are children (he mentioned 14 year olds) and they did not feel safe enough to seek help until he educated the class on the topic. Of course we don't want to trigger survivors, but the problem is there are more survivors than rapists at this point and we need to let EVERYONE know that what happened to them is not okay, and perhaps this was the first time these girls knew that it wasn't their fault. I hope he made a bigger difference than damage...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/21 06:45 PM

That is so horrible, you can rven see how scared she was. I'm glad there was an observant prosecutor that helped her. I hope she's safe!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/03/21 06:16 AM
21

I hope she finds a way put because this is so disgusting and terrifying and I feel should be illegal??? An ex NVM said he "enjoyed" thinking about me because I have a baby face and a "voice that sounds like a kid"...absolutely terrifying. I pray she is able to get out soon and this "trend" fails
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/03/21 06:10 AM

Too bad she used a that abuser as an example in the beginning because she had a good point

Thank you for sharing!! I always think having a great support system within ourselves is beneficial, but when we are hurt, having others to lean on that are strong is vital. I hope everyone has the opportunity to form those connections!!

What's sad is that people demean you for having a great role model, but don't understand that you are only human and trying your best. I hope you know that you are your own person and deserve better than you were given! Also I hope your plants are okay now lol 🪴🌻✨

This is so sad...there's huge pay gaps all across the world and women are shamed when they make more and/or made to pay the bills AND be a SAHM. I always love the wise words of Cher, "I am a rich man" 🥰

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/03/21 08:20 AM

This brought back memories in a way. I would respond with the same "..?" Vibes and then it's just gaslighting. No need to waste your time on someone that will make a big deal of a response that even he deletes. He could have easily roeeated what he sent instead of all this lol. You're obviously much smarter and better off. Good for you!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/03/21 08:19 AM

So proud of these young women not taking shit!! I hate these self-proclaimed male feminists they always turn "liberal" and tell me how empowering degrading rape sex is for me. It's just a manipulative tactic to victim blame yourself. Stay safe !!

OH i get you. I'm a non-native English speaker, so I love that you meant that! I think people assume readers go to the article and translate. Sadly, that's not always accurate:( I am totally sympathetic with that view, as I have been a victim to a these character traits as well. However, when rape and porn are discussed, it still somehow stings (even though, as I mentioned in this same thread, I work in criminal justice and hear these terms often). This reminds me of "The Shining" (1977 i think?) where how the main actress was traumatized from the director. It's almost as if he depicts her trauma and stress for men's entertainment
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/03/21 07:52 AM

I think some words deserve to be blurred tho maybe none of the listed above, but some people have traumatic experiences or are currently going through them. Maybe this was taking that extra precaution? I'm not sure
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/03/21 07:49 AM

Thank you for sharing that with me. I'm so goad you found what helped you heal! Personally, sometimes even just someone touching me/hugging me triggers me, so I will definitely check that out!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/03/21 03:10 AM

I am so sorry that happened to you!! I don't know why but for some reason the descriptions trigger me so much sometimes that i have panic attacks of memories:( it's funny because I work with criminal justice so these words are SO common, yet they still sting some days. I hope you are able to feel safe and know that you are worthy of so much, and I pray peace makes it way to you💕

Saw this on Instagram like this and assumed it's because there's some people that are triggered by these words :(

I agree, but why don't people say he himself is attractive rather than Nate if that is the case?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/21 06:43 PM
15

Exactly!! It reminds me of something like Ted Bundy. People are more conditioned to be more forgiving when someone is a bit more attractive than average (not like I saw it with Bundy, but it was proven) and it's so sad. We should be aboe to gold the same standard, and a part of me wishes TV portrayed it better like you said
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/21 05:14 PM
13

Thank you for your response!! Like the other comment on here, I think it's more important to like the actor then, even if Nate is a fictional character, what's worrying is that someone like him is NOT fictional. There's plenty of conventionally attractive men that act the way Nate does and girls are fed this information that this type of guy is OK, when it's not.. The guy from You was on an interview and he said something along the lines of, "how much are we willing to let the white man get away…

Good for these women! Happy, healthy, and doing what they love. Just proof that there's men that can't stand women being a queen on her own without a male influence heavy in her life...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/21 04:35 PM

I wonder if this mentality was created to encourage women in the patriarchal communities to dress well and look good only for the basis of men 🧐
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/21 04:31 PM
107

Part of me wonders if it's just being attracted to what is familiar. I know that before I got healthy, I assumed all men were like that and I should just settle for the abuse, narcissism, manipulation, etc. Another part of me worries that young people that watch the show believe that behavior is acceptable. (Then again, it is rated R, but they can always find a way to watch it so I don't think it's a solid barrier)

I am currently financially independent, so it wouldn't matter. However, I cannot, in good faith, leave my mom and my brothers with him and just leave. Unfortunately, culture & religion play this big part in my life that makes me feel that I can't bring myself to do that. I will be heading to law school in short period of time, so hopefully I will move then. I think perhaps it wasn't very smart to post here, as you have offered terrific advice that I greatly appreciate. Thank you again, and I hop…

I'm about to be 20 and my mom says I shouldn't let him bother me as he refuses to leave. I currently have each of my close friends living way too far away and/or back in my home country (i came to another one for university) no worries for all the questions! I appreciate your concern. I will hopefully be moving out when I go to grad school and be able to take care of the rest of my family then. Thank you💖

I wish I could hug you back, I'm so sorry you had to go through a situation like that!! I hope can live knowing that you are strong and you deserve to feel relaxed and comfortable. I currently pay for my university and everything else so I am financially independent, but I would not want to leave the rest of my family at the expense of my own comfort. I am going to law school after I graduate u dergrad and hopefully then things will be better. Thank you for responding, I wish you all the best💕

Thank you for this! So sorry you lived with some gross psycho, I hope you are safe and in a home where you always feel comfortable. The whole part of minimizing your feelings: I CAN RELATE! I even opened up to my mom about that night, and she said I was crazy and should calm down and that I shouldn't give him the power to do that because he isn't scary. I do that with a lot of things in my life and seeing your comment really opened my eyes. Thank you💕

Thank you :( and not exactly, most of my close friends are going through similar issues and I don't want to add on them. I'd love therapy, but I can't afford to go out and do it as I am financially independent from him and have other things I need to pay :(

Thank you for sharing this with me! I am so sorry your dad is like that and I pray that whoever is still at your home is safe. Also, I am already financially independent (i work, pay for my university and have a scholarships, and I don't need to drive rn bc COVID) however l, i want to bw there for my mom and my family because they're so important to me ans I don't want to give him the power to take that away from me. Definitely ~25+! The time to be a teenager and you g adult should involve having great friends and building the foundation for her life decisions. Of course everyone wants to "fit in", but maybe we can help change that narrative and it becomes normal for girls to build each other up and love themselves before indulging in a relationship with a boy who has a 99% chance of being immature and ruining her growth process. I started earlier and ended up getting taken advantage of and having to deal wi…

Oh my gosh, you sound like you live in my home county where I was raised EXACTLY and it scares me that it continues to hurt innocent people like yourself. It is totally 10000% okay to not like sex, and just know that when you do decide to have it, it will be with the right person that will make you comfortable. You shouldn't feel ashamed for your beautiful body because of the stigma society tells you to have, and I know that's easier said than done. I know that after reading your post that you s…

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Just know that you ARE beautiful and you shouldn't have to change or adhere to that standard. There are still men that are porn-free, and good HVM exist, and I pray they make their way to you because no good man should separate beauty and attractiveness from each other. However, YOU are your own soulmate and regardless can be a badass with or without anyone and you don't deserve to be disappointed by anyone. Have you standards to the maximum and raise the…

Thank you for this comment! I do believe that women may impact other women more than men effect young women, but I think it is because women are mor open to communicate and (in my experience, which is not like everyone else) the women are more mature and even if they are mistreated and don't have a HVM, continue to be a HVW. The culture is what keeps the LVM in tho :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/01/21 05:35 PM

I love this perspective! I also felt that when I read this article it completely forgot the idea that people have many different types of parental figures which is unfair to say this. I believe that a child in a healthy and strong environment will prosper and be confident earlier than someone who has gone through LV examples and must achieve this confidence from within & therapy. Thank you for your comment!

Honestly it was a small fraction of everything, we were both college students, so I didn't expect for him to fit the whole financially independent part of what I wanted, but because I was it was a bit annoying that he'd spend a lot of money on League of Legends for skins and buying people skins, I got red flags really quickly. He was pretty lovely the first few weeks we started talking, and then it flipped 180°. He started to make fun of how much I cared about school over video games and wanted …

I also agree with your point, of course all circumstances are different and i think this article excerpt is bad because it sets a standard of somewhat that you can't grow to be your own confident person on your own, and I believe you cam, no matter what challenges you may face. Therapy and practicing self care and also surrounding yourself with a healthy support system will hopefully help you on your journey!

I think this invalidates all the work a mother does, and me, who has had a closer relationship with my mother because my dad is a LVM and I feel this can be false. However, as much as he degrades me, belittles my achievements, and is misogynistic to me (that's besides how he treats my mom), I feel that if he was a HVM, I would have had an easier time being confident and stronger. Right! Like i'd love to support a cause someone devotes all their time to, but being rude and whiney the whole time will not get you there bro...Happy gaming tho! Most girls I played games with were playing for their LVM ex's so now i'm just sticking to fun games for myself (stardew valley and undertale on steam are super fun if you haven't played them already!!)

I hate that you had to go through such a thing, and thank you for sharing that with me. I hope that you never have to experience anything even remotely traumatic again, and that better things are headed your way, because you deserve it!! I have been asked multiple times about my past and history by past S/o's in my Pre-FDS life, and always was assured it had to do with our shared religion. I always started to cry and have panic attacks, shake, and really feel forced to speak about something I di…

Thank you so much for this, I feel that this is also something I needed to hear. I really appreciate your kind words and I hate that many people had to go through things like this in order to realize it is only societies way rather than a healthy way for ourselves. Thank you again❤️

Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I am so proud to hear that you have healed and/or trying to. I definitely agree that I should avoid men because this can make me feel vulnerable AND look it...I guess some part of me fears that someone will define me by my past, and I have to start caring if /i/ define myself by my past. Thank you for this again💖

I am so proud of you, and I can tell by your comment alone that you have come so far and I hope that you do truly believe that the circumstances and environment definitely effect the unfortunate events that took place, and i'm sorry you had to go through that. I felt that when you said that we should learn to accept ourselves and even to try and feel empathy for myself it was something I never thought I deserved to try. Thank you for this and for sharing your piece and thoughts. I appreciate you…

I am so sorry you had to go through that, this whole thing brought me to tears honestly...I pray that you have a peaceful and easy road ahead of yourself after all that unfortunate stuff you had to go through. Thank you so much for sharing this with me, and also for other people reading these comments, I know it touched my heart in a way that made me feel like I'm not alone and that if you could move on from your trauma hopefully I can too. Thank you again❤️

I feel now i definitely can see the signs, especially thanks to FDS and lots of time to recollect and think about these situations. Despite acquiring this lens, I want to give myself more time to heal from this rather than moving into something else that could cause even more mental damage for myself or even a future s/o...thank you for this💕

Hey, queen!! I feel moving forward is definitely the healthiest and best option, and this really motivated into myself doing so, thank you. You really brought a smile to my face and i am grateful for HVW like yourself!! Also, I am trying to find a good therapist in my area and in the meantime I am trying to heal and surround myself with better people all around and try to improve my self-talk. Thank you again for all this 🥺❤️
