If you got to the end of the second page and through the mess, the final two paragraphs of the article accurately summarize the issue: William Deresiewicz, a former academic and writer, published a 2007 essay in American Scholar discussing the professor-seducer stereotype, tracing its literary roots and arguing that it has largely supplanted the once pervasive notion of the absent-minded professor, due to various cultural factors. People realize its going to cause suspicion. Thats why this subreddit exists, because the suspicion is irrational and idiotic and permeates our culture. Maybe blacks should have just sat in the back of the bus forever, you know, because thats how it is, and something being wrong isnt a grounds to change it.... oh wait.
