I’m still married and agree completely that it is emotional warfare. We have two kids and I have committed to sticking this out until they’re 18. The great part is she’s aware of my desire for her to get help. Over the past 25 years I haven’t been perfect, neither of us have but now that the kids are complaining about her behavior it helps reinforce what I’ve been saying forever. Years ago when we were in our mid twenties we had an issue happen that she would never let go. Somehow she’s held thi…

Correct except you can use that in negotiations. Don’t tell her she can have everything else, yet. If the truck is half hers that’s ,$12,500 hers. If you can come up with $12,500 worth of assets that are yours you can probably negotiate to keep the truck. If it’s yours from before the marriage keep it and split everything else. If that comes to $10k value you can split the items or buy each other out to a roughly equal amount.

I think there’s only so much a man is willing to take. I find it really hard to believe that there were no conversations or warning. I’d also like to pause and examine what might force him to leave. Think about it ladies. We don’t just wake up and decide that we need to upend our lives, live with half the income, give half the retirement and extend our retirement age from 55 to 65. Appreciate what you have, accept a few annoying traits the same way we have. We’re not looking for a mom.

Agree, run. Imagine living with a women that is so set in her ways (which she absolutely will be because of the kids) that she can’t adapt to your needs as well. It ain’t lasting long unless the kids are almost out of the house. It sounds like her ex isn’t going to be in the picture for the foreseeable future. You’ve got your answer.

That made me laugh because it’s so literal. I think she meant that was the reason she has 100% custody. Ex dude sounds like a winner.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
