There is part of me that feels like I am asking for too much. The part that’s most frustrating to me is my wife saying she is willing to work on this change with me, while her behavior is quite ego centric and often more superficial than genuine. Another layer that is my contribution is my occupation. I work in mental health and carry this unhelpful belief that it’s my job to fix the marriage. Her family seeks willing parties and most marriages look the same with her siblings. Deeply reinforced.
