I'm currently not married or in a relationship, and I started watching her podcast on YouTube. I've learned a lot! I want to bring in these tools into my future relationship.

I would also advise listening to Focus on the Family . They give great advise in how to handle life situations from a Biblical perspective.

She obviously wanted validation. In her other comments, she's painting him as the bad guy

Out of curiosity, what should she have done from the beginning?

I like plants especially house plants and I do research in how to properly care for them. I like having fresh cut flowers, and I wanted to keep them fresh as long as possible. I did research and I can't recall where I read online about the penny. From what I remember the copper and zinc in pennies give minerals to flowers and sugar provides the food.

Yeah try it out and let me know if it works! Some years ago I bought some flowers as a gift and I did the sugar and penny thing and the flowers lasted about 2 months.

What I do with real flowers to make them last long, I put a bit of sugar in the water, stir it, and one penny. They tend to last for me.

Bullseye. It's about boundaries and respecting the person's relationship.

Exactly and his fiancee won't be jealous or her friends won't be spreading rumors why you hang out with your male friend alone. It just prevents drama.

When I meet up with a male friend (if they're in a relationship) , I ALWAYS meet in a public setting. I make a conscious effort to not be alone with them, not because I don't trust them or myself, because I don't want rumors to start. If I'm unable to meet in a public setting, I bring another friend with me.

Thank you so much! I have always known that I needed work in the domesticity area. I have recently started to talk to a man in his mid 40s and this will be helpful.

There's a video that haunts me today and I can't find it. It's a father outside an abortion clinic, WAILING for his gf not to kill the baby. It broke my heart just seeing the man falling apart and begging her not to do it. I did find this video and I'm glad this dad is trying to do something about it. lawsuit

Yep! It's just sad and it needs to change to help fathers and the children involved.

Agree! What's more sickening is that some single mothers use their children as pawns to get what they want, but they're bad karma will always come back. I have an aunt who had a drug addiction and she treated her children, my cousins, poorly. Now they're adults and they lost contact with her. At times I feel bad but then I'm like you reap what you sow. One day she sent a family group text asking for someone to deliver her groceries because she was sick and didn't have food. I called her and she …

Oh no, that place seems disorganized. Since you filed a protective order, distict attorney and law enforcement have advocates. Maybe try and see if an advocate can work with you.

Yeah it's strange that she called me on the day her electricity was turned off. She didn't call me when her bill was at $100, not at $200 or $300, $400, $500, $600. She called me when it was over $700 and the power was off and her last payment was made in December. Her steps came tumbling down when she realized her electricity was off and sadly enough her child was caught in the process. Now that she's caught up with everything let's see how her baby steps go for her. Yeah I should stop disrupti…

I'm currently in that situation. I'm working with an individual who was assaulted by his neighbor and scared to return home. I'm trying to work with him in getting him a hotel and housing resources. Right now it's a waiting game for housing to return my call.

Yes mental trauma is a challenge in trying to over come certain situations and that's why social services exist to help people to overcome the hardship and to become independent. My mom used WIC with me when I was a baby and it did it help her (us you can say) once she was financially stable, she stopped using it. Social services is meant to be a stepping stone, not a way to live off. Don't you think it's more empowering for a victim to be independent? I would think so. Lol okay buddy, yeah you'…

THIS!! I have people call me ashamed of either asking help or that they're a victim of a crime. I do my best to make them feel safe in providing me information so that I can best offer them services. Pre covid, there was a increase of DV from men and that was the first time I was aware of the limited assistance for men. I began to talk to coworkers and friends/family about the situation and have them aware.

Because I asked her what was her plan for the upcoming months and her response was to notify the court that she didn't receive child support. Also to add, I provide a list of resources to her that could potentially can help. She called me back and said she either wasn't eligible or had used their funds previously. In the past, I've had victims who were creative in how to make money. One lady didn't have money for groceries and she decided to make tamales and sell them. I was able to step in and …

It does! It drains our funding! About two years ago, my management started approving requests left and right that wasn't related to the client's victimization versus clients who did have evidence needing assistance due to the crime. I was scrapping pennies for these individuals in trying to find every way and being creative in how to get my clients funding for their needs because ours was drained out. I was ready to quit because I couldn't handle the caseload and the lack of leadership from my m…

I agree electricity is important, but the fact that it wasn't paid since January bothered me. I asked why she didn't pay it is because she was expecting her child support to pay for it. She never had intentions of paying it and I think it's not fair were I have other clients who are in great need. Hers was accepted without questioning her health and safety that's specifically stated in our emergency funds guidelines related to her victimization. My management saw that she was a single mom and th…

Thank you for discussing the issue. There has been times I want to comment, but I'm scared I'll be attacked for my opinions and prefer not to speak. Don't get me wrong, I have learned A LOT from this community and I have been discussing the issues with my employer as a victim advocate. I want to keep defending men's right, but lately I'm scared to. As a woman, how am I to offer support when I'm pushed aside....??

I see that you're frustrated and rightly so. I'm not talking anyone out of recording, only to proceed with caution. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want in means to protect themselves, they just have to understand what those results maybe from their actions.

I'm disappointed in your reaction. I'm trying to offer support and instead I'm called a "troll". How do you expect me to feel when I'm trying to be on your side?
/r/MensRights04/08/21 09:45 PM

I would be cautious with recording because you can be fined with recording without consent. What I would advise is never be alone always have someone else in the room and limit physical contact to only a handshake.

I would be cautious if from the outside the man looks discipline such as the examples you listed. I met a man with those disciplines and I fell head over heels. Little did I know that he had a gf and was playing the both of us.

Oh wow, that hurts me. I'm learning that everyone has different ways of healing and I hope you found your way of peace. I was also abused as a child and had some issues come up as a result of what happened to me.

First off I want to say I'm sorry that this happened to you and I'm sure it was hard to remember such awful experience. I hope you have healed from the experience if not, I hope you reach out to a therapist or some agency that focuses on men's health to begin your healing. Thank you for sharing and if I could, I would hug you.

Honestly I don't know if you're some kind of troll or what, but this is not the post to talk about BLM. I just want to bring attention into how men survivors of sexual abuse are placed into a box are offered limited, sometimes no resources in healing from sexual trauma. We can talk about race on another subreddit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
