I'm not sure that that's relevant to what I said. My point was that the OP left out all of the things that people think make TRP misogynistic. In my opinion, he left those things out for one of two reasons: 1. He doesn't agree with those things, or 2. He agrees with them, but purposefully left them out in order to portray TRP in a better light. If he doesn't agree with those things, it might be that he doesn't think they work and so he doesn't use them, or it might be that he thinks they're prob…

This is a sanitized and vague description of TRP, in my opinion. I imagine that the average person who is unfamiliar with TRP would read this and think "sounds good". For people who view TRP as misogynistic, we're actually familiar with what TRP means when they talk about "the motivations and desires of women" or how to "behave in a manner which women find attractive". Perhaps you don't agree with things like: women should be treated like children, or that it's in women's nature to cheat on you …

Well, I don't disagree with that, but there's more to TRP than just setting healthy boundaries and being assertive/standing up for yourself (I think most people would agree that those are positive things). There's also the stuff about maintaining frame (never showing weakness), dread game, etc. I've seen posts like this one It ended because she said I was too cold, distant and not giving her enough attention And these types of posts are often downvoted or deleted, and/or the OP is basically told…

I don't think unhappiness is necessarily the only reason someone might implement TRP ideas into their relationship. Another possibility is insecurity. For example: A man was cheated on in his previous relationship. He starts a new relationship and everything is going great. He stumbles upon TRP and thinks it explains why his last partner cheated on him, so he decides to implement TRP ideas in his current relationship. He's bought into the idea that women are predisposed to cheat and he wants to …

I think there exist both men and women who will put up with a lot of negative traits in a partner because of other positive traits (e.g. dating someone with an awful personality because they're hot). I also think that there exist both men and women who will put up with bad personalities, or mistreatment or abuse from a partner because they have low self-esteem, think they can't do better, view that treatment as normal (e.g. they lack an understanding/rolemodels of healthy relationships), hope th…

I think that in most cases, if you're attracted to your partner, then you think that other people would be attracted to them too, without them needing to show you by flirting with other people (or doing other things to show you that they have "options"). I know my partner has other options. He's an attractive and awesome person. If your partner starts flirting with someone else in front of you, for many people, it's going to make you feel insecure. People have different levels of insecurity, and…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
