Sure, the mentally ill can’t be held accountable in the court of law, but if they intentionally work against their own interests like that, they might as well be left to suffer the consequences so that they can learn. Or, we can act in their best interest, taking away the choice for them, which would likely cause more anger but nobody would be hurt.
