Not worth the conflict to me. I would rather maintain the peace in co-parenting than get a few extra $ that I don’t need. Also I already set up 529 and am kind of wealthy such that my child will inherit millions

I have 100% custody of child, so pay no child support (and also never bothered trying to get child support from her). Also pay $0 alimony. I had a pre nup and also she had an affair so was in affair dog.

I had a prenuptial agreement. While I could’ve enforced the infidelity clause of the prenup and gotten $100k (she was the one who insisted on putting the clause in), I chose to forego it in exchange for keeping the rest of the prenup intact. Also got 100% custody of the kid, no alimony and no child support (since I have the kid). So walked away with basically everything that was mine including my retirement funds, properties, cash, investments etc

Fight the misdemeanor and argue that when you asked your wife who that strange tattoo covered man was and she replied with “who?” Her response made you think that no one else was supposed to be in the house. You assumed he was an intruder and not a house guest, which prompted you to take action to protect your wife and kids. You did nothing wrong.

Ooh you should’ve waited 2 extra months and you could’ve saved that $30k. Mine finalized in August of 2024, So there was too much time to wait it out

yeah....like when I file my taxes and can no longer check the "married filing jointly box". Now I have to pay thousands more in taxes every year. :(

Disagree all that goes to show your wife’s lack of judgement which could endanger the child

My ex spent $2k on lawyer fees. I had 3 free consults just to verify my opinion on my stance on certain things. I spent $400 on the filing fees. I also spent $500 on a prenup. Ultimately I knew the prenup could be challenged but used it as a negotiating base to give up a little bit in exchange for speed and certainty of a negotiated settlement. Ended up with 100% custody no alimony or child support and kept all my retirement and all my assets. I was cordial and fair in my negotiations and my ex …

I begged too. But I don’t regret it. At least you tried everything, now you can move on in life without wondering “what if” and regretting that you tried harder. Now the full blame will lie with her and she will be the one to regret in the future if her life goes to shit. Also your kids will know you tried your best and will place more blame on their mom.

I am in the same situation. But my divorce has been finalized for 4 months now. How do I tell HR to remove my ex-wife from insurance (small company) without the rest of the office knowing?

She was a stay at home wife. Zero income. I have low six figure salary + about $3 million equity in real estate. She had zero income + 2 million equity in marital home she purchased. Infidelity clause is usually tossed because it’s hard to prove. But I had videos so it could be proven. Just not worth my while to jeopardize settlement and custody over $100k especially since a protracted legal fight would swallow a lot of that $100k. I was simply rationale while she was in her affair fog. Plus I t…

I Spent $350 for filing fees. Ex wife spent $2k on her lawyer. I negotiated a settlement privately with pre nup as a base. I could’ve pursued a $100k infidelity penalty clause on the pre nup but choose not to in the interest of keeping things simple. I pay no alimony, walked away with all my properties, 100% custody but I didn’t bother to pursue any child support. She kept the house she paid for. I guess I won the divorce even tho I feel I lost myself and my marriage. No real winners in divorce …

Also forgot to mention on the income side….no change either since ex wife never worked and was a stay at home wife (I don’t say mom because I was doing most of the household chores and child rearing as well). These days it actually feels easier just taking care of myself and my child. Now I have one less deadweight wife to take care of

I am at 120% my prior finances. Divorced a few months ago. I had a prenuptial agreement, I don’t pay alimony and have 100% physical custody of child so I don’t pay child support either (she doesn’t pay me child support either). She kept the marital house that her family purchased for us as a marital home - which was costing me $50k/yr in taxes and insurance. Now I can use this $50k a year on my own smaller house (2/3 the size of the old house) for upkeep and taxes and still have about $30k lefto…

Which 3 dating apps do you use? And do you use the paid versions? or just the freebie levels?

You should have the guy contact the judicial ethics department as that is definitely improper and the judge could get disbarred for that

I would have to say the OP took the right approach to an extent. Up to move out date, he continued showing her exactly what she lost. There is no greater revenge than forcing the cheating spouse to live a life of regret for her actions. But, Op should start giving less of himself to her and minimize helping her out going forward. I am planning to do the same with my infidel stbx. Once the papers are signed, I am completely out and will try not to help her. But before then, I will continue being …

Don't tell the AP. Let him suffer as he made you suffer when he and your wife plotted against you. Eventually he will find out, then your ex wife can suffer too.
