Jake Gyllenhaal is someone who I find very attractive, specifically when he was younger. Liam Hemsworth is also up there for me. Maybe I have a type tho

Yeah, nah, that pic isn't helping your argument for me haha. I'm not saying he's unattractive, just not very attractive. He does look older though so it's possible that he was a lot more attractive when he was younger maybe. I'm genuinely curious what you find so exceptionally attractive about this guy that you'd consider him a 9.5?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/21 07:32 PM

I’m not normally nit picky about looks but that guy has way too big of a forehead/receding hairline to be considered a 9.5. Like, I don’t think I’d even consider him an 8 because that one main flaw detracts so much from his looks IMO. He needs a better hairstyle or something. Lol that I am being downvoted because I don't consider some 40-something year old football player to be one of the most attractive men in the world.

Yeah, I’d rather die alone than willingly subject myself to emotional abuse. I have way too much self respect for that shit.

With my SO, some people might think I’m compromising with his height because he’s “only” 5’8. But I prefer his height and having a man tower over me has never been a priority for me. He checks all my boxes for what I find attractive so I’m quite happy. Maybe some women “compromise” on a guy’s voice but it doesn’t feel like a compromise to them much the same way as I do with a guy’s height? Dunno. But yes, to answer your question, in that scenario I would continue to date good looking men of aver…

Idk, most men seem to think that I’m at least cute. Some men find me very attractive because I think I fit their “type.” I’m a short, petite fair skinned white girl with blue eyes and dark hair. I have posted pics of my face on Reddit.

Depends on the circumstances. I started dating my SO only a few weeks after my ex and I broke up. We broke up because I found out that he was cheating and lying about it in order to keep me around. Basically I realized that he was a total shit individual and that there was no reason to mourn that loss off a relationship. So I decided that I would date for fun while I worked through some of the insecurities and baggage that my last relationship caused. I asked my best friend to set me up with one…

Possibly! I don’t think men are really any different than us though. I’m obviously generalizing here but usually a physically attractive but “butch” woman doesn’t register as attractive to hetero men either.

I do agree that a guy’s “persona” also plays a part in my attraction but it can be hard for me to differentiate it with physical attraction. Like, my SO presents himself pretty masculinely but it’s not like he tries, that’s really just the way he is. Same thing with the way he speaks, he is very articulate and of course that’s attractive but I’m pretty sure that I’m mostly attracted to his deep voice vs exactly what he’s saying, ha. I’ve met attractive guys whose voices just sounded too high or …

If she’s incredibly physically attracted to him, it can easily be built back up. I would know, I’ve been frustrated with my SO numerous times but it’s like I can’t turn off wanting him. He can say something embarrassing or annoying, act unadmirably or “unmasculine”, make me cry, etc but he still never registers as unattractive to me. I’ve been attracted to him since the moment I laid eyes on him and since then, it’s like a switch that can’t be turned off. It’s honestly sometimes annoying because…

Not the OP but I masturbate when I’m stressed/anxious! I don’t always think sexual thoughts but it often does speed up the process. Also this is probably tmi but it’s super easy for me to orgasm when I have to pee. Does anyone else experience this or am I just super weird haha?

I responded to you in a previous thread but just to reiterate: I’m a woman and I get spontaneously horny during specific times of my cycle, most particularly during what I believe is ovulation and then also sometimes when I’m on my period. During these times, I crave and fantasize about sex unprompted. I’m in a relationship and this is when I often initiate sex with my SO. When I was single, I would watch porn and I often dabbled with sexting to curb my sexual urges. I’ve never had casual sex, n…

I have no idea what my testosterone levels are (I don’t have PCOS and I’m not very hairy though if that’s any indication, haha) but I definitely get super horny for 1-2 weeks during my cycle. Like, very stereotypical “spontaneous desire,” I will crave/fantasize about sex unprompted. I believe it’s during ovulation (but also during my period) that I get horny like this. My cycle has always been like this, regardless of if I’m single or in a relationship. We have so many hormones involved in our c…

Depending on where I’m at in my cycle, I definitely get horny and crave/obsess about sex. If I was single, I’d probably fuck random guys if it 1) wasn’t dangerous and 2) didn’t have any negative social consequences. With that said, when I was single, I used to sext with random people to fulfill those urges. Not my proudest moments but hey, I was horny and sexting was an easier, safer option that at least somewhat fulfilled my urges. I get horny like this during the week that I’m ovulating (at le…

I once had a guy neg/pull what I suspect were red pill tactics through FB messages, it was really odd and honestly made me laugh. He was kind of on the outskirts of my friend group (I don’t think he had many “real” friends), that was how I originally met him. He randomly messaged me and invited me to some kind of event at a bar while also putting me down. I told him I had a boyfriend and he told me to bring him while once again putting me down. It was such an odd exchange but I recognized the ne…

Unfortunately there are no guarantees. I've had friendly, 'safe' conversations with men who are in relationships, only for them to assume my interest and tell me "ugh I wish I didn't have a girlfriend, I'd love to take you out!!" So scummy, and it's why I don't believe men when they say that girls show them more interest when they are taken. The vast majority of men have no idea what the difference is between being friendly and showing interest.

Sharing resources is the point of getting married and having a family which is what we intend on doing. We are going to combine our assets and money to fund our future family and our lifestyle, live an awesome life together and hopefully pass on whatever we can to our kids so that they won’t ever have to financially struggle. I’ve already said this but the majority of those financial assets are and will most likely continue to be provided from me. I’m okay with that risk because I love my SO, he…

I’m not relishing in anything, he’s the man that I’m going to marry, that’s what fiancé means. No one in my family has ever been divorced and I have way more assets to lose than he does in the event of a divorce. Not sure what the point is that you’re trying to prove. My Reddit name is from a line from a song by the band Brand New. You’re trying way too hard to read into things.

I was stupidly shy when I was younger so I never dated the guys who I had crushes on (so the ones who I was actually attracted to). Even if they did show interest in me, I always messed it up by intentionally ignoring them and “playing hard to get” because I was dumb and insecure. I dated my ex because we had a lot in common and he seemed to have a lot going for him, he was what should be “relationship material.” But I never got butterflies around him, never really enjoyed kissing him and never …

I’m a woman and even I failed to realize how much looks matter for (my own) sexual attraction. I think women being in relationships with men that they aren’t sexually attracted to is fairly normalized in society (I.e. “duty sex” with husbands). Sexual attraction always seemed to be low on the priority list for women’s LTRs, and I personally did have to unlearn this (because it really is miserable being in a relationship with someone you don’t even want to makeout with).

I'm 29 and I find men in their mid 20s the most attractive. When I find men younger than 25 attractive, I often feel guilty about it. I think it has to do with me being aware and self conscious about my own age though, like since I think that they wouldn't be attracted to me then I'm not going to allow myself to be attracted to them.

If we don’t view sex the same way (I.e. feeling that sex should be reserved for relationships), I’m not going to feel like I’m “enough” for him. I also might develop a superiority complex that I view sex the “right“ way and that I wish I had a partner who was “on the same level” as me in regard to our views. This will likely lead to issues and resentment in the relationship. I’m mostly referring to an “insecure” relationship where those insecurities are rooted in incompatibility, not personal in…

My n count is 2 and I strongly prefer a partner who also has a relatively low n count. Since I am attracted to sociable men, I understand that they will most likely have a higher n count than me. I'm mostly interested in weeding out men who have casual sex, largely because that incompatibility would lead to insecurities in the relationship. If my goal is to eventually build a life with someone then having the same views on sex is an important part of that foundation imo. N count was brought up i…

I’m 29 and my fiancé and I started dating at 25. We will be 30 when we get married (would’ve been 29 if we didn’t have to push our wedding a year due to Covid). I can only cum by grinding. Oral feels nice but unless I’m mashing myself against his face and grinding, I’m not gonna cum, haha. I also dislike being fingered, if I’m wet enough to be penetrated then it better be a dick going inside, not fingers. For me, sex isn’t about cumming, it’s about being super turned on from foreplay (mostly making out and boob play) and having awesome piv sex. I can cum so easily by myself that orgasms honestly don’t seem that special. Being ridiculously turned on, sop…

I don’t need a guy to cum, I can easily do it by myself. I do need someone physically attractive in order to turn me on enough to have enjoyable piv sex though. It’s impossible to get wet from foreplay with someone who you are not attracted to (sadly, I’ve been there). Should probably mention that I never use lube. Personally, I feel like if I have to resort to using lube, then I’m not turned on enough and shouldn’t be having sex with that person. I have no problems getting wet if I’m into it bu…

Are you a woman? Because the above is pretty much correct for me. I don’t rely on my partner for my orgasm during sex though, if I want it, I’ll just go for it. But I can’t get turned on by someone if I don’t find them physically hot. If I can’t get turned on enough then I can’t have piv sex, it would hurt way too much to be enjoyable. If I’m not turned on, I don’t really even want to cum.

Yes, those are also common erogenous zones.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/20 09:13 PM

It means they can be sexualized way more easily than body parts that are not erogenous, yes. That was my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/20 09:05 PM

Makes sense! I’m actually somewhat afraid of breastfeeding because I don’t really think about my body in that context. I think I’m even resistant to the idea because my breasts are a body part that genuinely give me a lot of physical/sexual pleasure. As silly and unnatural as it sounds, I don’t want that taken away from me, haha.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/20 09:00 PM

True, I might just be biased because it’s my #1 hotspot haha. It’s surprisingly difficult for me to not view my own breasts sexually because they are so strongly linked to my arousal.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/20 08:39 PM

This is a bad analogy because boobs/nipples are a common erogenous zone for women which makes them inherently sexual (or at least in certain contexts). Lots of women are aroused by having their breasts stimulated, teased, played with, etc. Are people just forgetting this or what?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/20 07:32 PM

Breasts/nipples are a fairly common erogenous zone for women though.

The flip side to this is that she might eventually wonder what sex with someone else would be like and if it would be better than with you. My fiancé has a slightly higher n count that used to make me feel insecure for similar reasons to the ones you listed above (he's obviously a man though). I then considered that if he hadn't explored his sexuality with other people before me, then how would he know that I'm the best person to settle down and have sex with for the rest of his life. I have no idea what the point is that you’re trying to make. But of course my fiancé and I have had discussions about getting married and having a family together and what that means for us, anyone who is considering getting married should be doing this. We tell each other what characteristics we value in each other and why we believe that we make a good team together. It’s not “post-purchasing bias,” it’s called communication and building a life together with someone.

Well yeah, if someone with strong values chooses you to be their partner and parent of their children, that is a compliment towards your character. This is how I feel about my fiancé and how he feels about me.

Yep, this was exactly what I was referring to. Some men I’ve gone out with were obviously nice towards me but would make insensitive comments about others or just treat others not nearly as nice as they treat me. I perceive this as a red flag.

I don’t understand what exactly it is that you are responding to in my post. I never told men how to think and I’ve never made a man “second fiddle to a series of men.”

Yeah, I didn’t really date within my social circle until I was 25. Dating friends or friends of friends always seemed messy to me so I avoided it. But once I decided to go for it, I went out with the man who I am now engaged to. It does seem to work!

I think online and casual dating tends to expose you more to people who you don’t necessarily have values in common with. People who want serious relationships with likeminded partners are probably more likely to find them within their social spheres. This was at least true for me, I met my fiancé through my best friend (he was her husband’s good friend). My best friend’s values overlap with mine (hence why we are best friends) which obviously overlap with her husband’s which then overlap with h…

Interesting! Because this hasn’t been my experience in regard to most people I know, men or women. I’ve met a lot of people who have demonstrated these values, sure, but not that many that really stick to them. Hell, my ex even demonstrated some of these values until I spent enough time with him to realize most of it was a facade. I learned that if it didn’t benefit him, then he was willing to toss his “values” aside. I’ve noticed lots of people do this and I personally expect more from the pers…

Hmm I like this question! Being told that I would make a “good mom“ actually makes me really happy, it means (hopefully) that person views me as a good role model for young children. Being told that I would make a “good wife“ kind of puts me off, if only because I think I have a negative connotation in regards to who I think would say something like that. I would assume they meant that I am submissive and domestic which I do not view positively, lol. Ultimately the “good wife” comment would depe…

Loyalty, compassion, integrity, intelligence, empathy and curiosity. My ex lacked several of these qualities which is why I ultimately was unable to be happy with him. When I considered if I could have children with him and it was a “hell no” because I didn’t view him as a good role model, I knew something was definitely wrong. It’s funny because lots of guys seem to be afraid of being “settled for” and regarded as “marriage material” by women. For me to consider you “marriage and father materia…

Creative professions are the most attractive to me too. Creative people just seem more special and unique to me. One of my crushes in college was a skateboarder (which added to the swoon factor) who was an illustrator with a very unique drawing style. I doubt he makes very much money but it's still very attractive that he can do something his way and that cannot be replicated by anyone else.

I think those are your own personal views on sex. The reality is that if sex is consensual, we both have equal control. He can tell me to stop and I have to stop, I can tell him to stop and he has to stop. Just because he can more easily overpower me physically does not mean that he is more in control than me. If I want to be on top and in control and he wants to continue to have sex with me, you can bet your ass that he is not going to “dominate” me. I will note that I understand what you’re sa…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 08:34 PM

Yeah, I can follow that logic, it’s like the “ultimate submission” to be coerced/forced into sex. And I guess regardless of how that sex act looks, it would still be submissive. I.e. If a man was being forced to perform piv sex on a woman, that would still be the “submissive” role because she is the one ultimately “in control.” I just don’t think rape should be compared to normal, consenting sex. But the above is how I would define it if I had to.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 06:27 PM
1

So yes, my logic follows that I would consider that the dominant role. I don’t understand your last question? Rape is when someone is forced or coerced to perform sex acts that they otherwise would not do willingly. I don’t think you can apply dom/sub roles if both people are not consenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 06:13 PM
3

I mean it would ultimately depend on the position I guess? If the girl is pegging then you would think that means she’s controlling the guy’s pleasure so that would be the dominant role? If he was using her to peg himself (can this even happen lol?) for his own pleasure then that would be dominant? And how do you even define dominant/submissive roles in oral sex? Are you submissive because you are giving sexual pleasure or are you dominant because you are controlling sexual pleasure? I think it …

I actually prefer fucking my SO (I.e. being on top) to being fucked? It honestly sounds like you people have not had a ltr with regular sex if you believe sex has to follow such specific rules, lol. Sometimes my SO fucks me, sometimes I fuck him, sometimes we fuck each other at the same time.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/20 04:39 PM
11

Personally, I don’t agree that a woman being on top is submissive just because it’s PIV. When I’m on top, I have more control over my pleasure and my partner’s pleasure which makes me feel more dominant. Having control over another person is what creates a dom/sub dynamic imo. For example, sometimes I feel dominant during oral with my SO because I am in control of his pleasure. I think because men are stronger than women, they are naturally more “in control” during sex. But by letting your girl …

Yep, I learned masturbation was something to be done in private because my parents would tell me to "stop doing that" when they would walk in on me in the living room (important note: I can masturbate through my clothes, idk if this is common with other women either). So embarrassing, I never had an actual conversation about what it was that I was doing though so I was always kind of confused. It wasn't until I was going through puberty and watched porn that I started making the connection that I'd already been masturbating/orgasming (was still very confused why my way looked so different though). I have to be wet and aroused to enjoy PIV. PIV sex when you aren’t both wet and aroused isn’t very enjoyable but it’s tolerable. I don’t orgasm from PIV sex but when I am wet/aroused, I do genuinely crave the feeling of a dick inside. Like, when you are really aroused, it genuinely throbs down there and you get the feeling of “wanting to be filled.” Now, as for what turns me on, the easiest and surefire way is a lot of teasing and boob play. When I am aroused and wet from that then I want PIV se…

If women are “the gatekeepers of sex” and men are “the gatekeepers of relationships,” then a man whose n count is higher than the number of relationships he’s had just means that he lowered his standards to have casual sex. This is, in fact, a very off-putting and unappealing quality to think about in a prospective LTR partner.

Miscarriage and stillbirth increases risk of breakup or divorce, that was my point. I'm going to bet that you don't know of anyone who has had a miscarriage before (let alone multiple miscarriages), it's a huge burden on a relationship. Personally, I would never have a baby after 40 because on top of the risks, I'm 100% not interested in being pregnant at that age. But there are plenty of women who have had normal, healthy pregnancies in their 40s (especially so if you have had a successful preg…

I didn't know how old you were, I guess I assumed you were younger. I was just trying to clarify the risks associated with older fathers which lots of people tend to either ignore or be misinformed about. My point was that younger guys should not bank on starting a family when they are older just because they think they can partner with someone younger. If you are older and serious about marriage and having a family then yeah, you kind of missed your chance. Good luck to you though!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/20 09:41 PM

I think you totally missed my point (on purpose), everyone should be aiming to have kids relatively young to offset the risks. If you’re older, you already missed your best chance to start a family. I planned accordingly so not my problem!

Idk how old you are exactly but I want to mention that it is harder for women (regardless of her age) to conceive with an older man (35+) with rates of miscarriage also rising with the man’s age. If you want kids and also don’t want to fuck over your partner during their pregnancy (note: miscarriage rates are correlated to divorce rates), you should try to have kids relatively young. When I go to the gyno, they have specifically asked me the age of my partner in order to predict how easy concept…

This reads like the girl was just being nice and was quite happy in her relationship. I also am nicer towards strangers (particularly men) when I'm in a relationship because I don't feel the need to intentionally act unfriendly in order to keep them from hitting on me. Fortunately, my fiancé and I’s jobs are fairly flexible and our parents would be willing to help out with babysitting. So we will likely attempt to both work when we have kids. If that proves too difficult then we will discuss one of us becoming a stay at home parent for a few years. Weird, 25 was the easiest age for me to date. I got out of one relationship and got into my current relationship in like, less than a month. We are now engaged, couldn’t be happier. Worked out just fine for me, I’d highly recommend it!

Yep, I've been looking at guys' butts since I was a teenager. I like slim/toned guys with small butts, and not a lot of body hair. Honestly, if you meet these standards and your clothes show it, I probably find you attractive. A good looking face seals the deal. I am not sexually attracted to chubby or overweight men, regardless of how attractive their face is. If I'm being honest, even slight chub/softness turns me off. Men's bodies should be strong and hard. I would never feel comfortable open…

Personally, I find Pete Davidson really cute. I found him attractive on SNL before he dated Ariana Grande. He's tall, outgoing, funny, "edgy," and in regards to his mental health problems, lots of girls probably like the idea of being able to "save" a guy like him.

Yeah, I definitely have a type. I can tell when I’m immediately attracted to a man (although voice can be a deal breaker/turn off). I definitely notice men who are tall-ish (I’m short so average height is okay), slim, deep voice, nice laugh/teeth/smile, small butt. Think skater boy physique/style and I’m likely immediately attracted to them. When I met my fiancé, I was immediately attracted to him. Like, instant butterflies and blushing when I was near him, talking to him, etc (and I had a boyfr…

Yep I’ve noticed that too! My ex came from a divorced family and he was definitely the latter, he desperately wanted a ltr. But again, it’s like he didn’t have the skills or mindset to be in a healthy, trusting and honest relationship. He couldn’t trust me and he was very selfish to the extent that he would lie and manipulate me in order to keep me from leaving. I’m sure it stems from abandonment issues but there’s no way I would ever subject myself to that again. My fiancé comes from a similar …

We all have our own issues! But yeah, seems like people that come from divorced families have serious trust issues. It’s extremely difficult to have a normal, healthy relationship with someone who doesn’t know what that looks like.

In my experience, people that come from divorced families don’t make good ltr partners. Ya’ll have a lot of baggage and issues to sort through before you can make a good partner.

The way he looks, sounds and acts. My SO caught my eye because he fit my “type” but hearing him talk/laugh, seeing him smile and watching the way he acted around me and others are what made me actively think about fucking him. Oh, smell is also important. My SO has always smelled good to me, it makes me want to be close, kiss, make out, etc with him. I’ve experienced lots of guys try to kiss me who do not smell nearly as good to me and it always ends up no bueno. And I’ve actually discussed this…

I’m not really sure if I know what a “feminine-looking” guy would look like, haha. I admittedly do have a type which I don’t think necessarily qualifies as “traditionally masculine.“ I like skinny guys who are average-ish height with “above average“ eyes and teeth/smile. A good head of hair is also very attractive. Basically, I always had a thing for “skater boys” as a teen and never really grew out of finding that physique and style attractive. My SO very much so fits my type. Edited to include…

Correct. If a guy comes across as too “feminine” to me, I have a hard time maintaining sexual attraction towards him. I feel kind of guilty about it because it doesn’t seem very “PC” of me but I like what I like. I’m not going to date men that I don’t find sexually attractive, that only hurts both of us. And in regards to my mom, it was definitely a neutral observation. I think she thought my ex was my type so she was surprised when I started dating my SO because he was so different. My mom actu…

A woman should only date men who she would want to have sex with on the first few dates because that means that she actually finds them sexually attractive. No one should be trying to get into a relationship with someone who they aren’t sexually attracted to, that only hurts both parties. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that she should have sex on the first few dates if she really likes that person. Having sex with someone you really like (when you don’t know/trust how they feel about you) wi…

Haha, I personally wouldn’t call it stupidity but I agree with you that risky behavior in men can absolutely be attractive. I consider motorcycles stupid/risky but seeing my SO on his made me smile like an idiot.

Sure, I wasn’t specifically talking about physical features when I was defining “manly,” but you’re right. Broad shoulders are attractive in men, at least in comparison to the rest of their body. And I do find that very attractive in my SO’s physique.

Honestly, guilty. I love my SO’s voice and laugh, I could listen to it all day. It absolutely turns me on. It’s not that deep though, just deep enough. Idk what you mean by shouldered. I think “manly” just means a man with an attractive demeanor. A man who is confident (I.e. you can’t push him around) but inviting (I.e. he can get along with anyone) is attractive, hence “manly.” I’m sure people have different ideas of what “manly” means though, this is just mine.

His voice wasn’t very deep (I realize how important this is to me now, in terms of sexual attraction) and he just didn’t act very masculine? I think it had something to do with how confident his body posture and language was. I remember my mom mentioned how much more manly/confident my current SO seems in comparison to my ex, so it wasn’t just me who noticed it. I do think some women don’t care about that kind of stuff though because I’ve met very physically attractive men who I just can’t get p…

My ex was physically attractive (as in, he had attractive physical features) but his mannerisms and voice were too feminine for me to find him sexually attractive. I’ve met quite a few men that I’ve felt this way about.

Sure? It is really unusual for someone to not start dating until their 30s, male or female.

Someone with the qualities you listed would already have an equally awesome wife by the time he is 40. If he is unable to accomplish that then that’s a red flag that something is awry.

I’ve only ever heard straight men say that Leo is still attractive. I find that his looks peaked in his early 20s which is pretty rough for a celeb who has financial access to skincare, diet, fitness, plastic surgery, etc. I truly don’t understand why he aged so poorly.

I’m 29 and I’ve had two serious relationships. I met my ex at 22 and we dated for 3.5 years. I met my SO at 25 and we have been together for 3.5+ years. Both relationships were/are “good” in that I learned a lot about relationships and myself. My current relationship is pretty much exactly what I want in a relationship, I’m very very happy with him. I learned that attraction/chemistry and willingness to compromise are key. I was never very attracted to my ex and I hoped that my attraction would …

I choose to hold off on sex with someone I really like because I know that sex will only further strengthen and complicate my feelings. I do it to protect myself from further disappointment in case they don’t feel the same way about me. And while I’ve never had casual sex, I can understand why it appeals to people. If you don’t really like someone but are horny/bored then why not, there’s no risk of getting your feelings hurt, it’s just an experience.

The vast majority of my peers are married/engaged/settled down by the time they turned 30 (which means that most were dating their SOs in their mid 20s). My SO and I are the same age and started dating when we were 25. I never would’ve dated anyone in their 30s when I was 25 because I would’ve assumed they had some kind of baggage that was preventing them from settling down. Obviously this is anecdotal but it’s what I’ve observed among friends and family so it seems abnormal to me and a possible…

I've never understood the logic behind this. How can someone who claims to be "okay" with their boyfriend jerking off to other women consider themselves secure? Knowing my boundaries, expecting my boyfriend to treat me with respect and not accepting anything less than that? Yeah, that's because I have high self esteem and know my worth. Being a "cool girl" to appease your boyfriend? Now that is the ultimately form of insecurity.
