You don't. She's in a relationship, so either be her friend because you genuinely want to or wait until she's actually available.

The fact that this comment got downvoted is enough for me. I'm done with this subreddit.

I said no "true feminsist". Feminism is equal rights. One person can never represent feminism, just like one asshole who makes outlandish statements and calls himself/herself an MRA doesn't represent all of them.

I didn't feel I needed to write a perfect, flawless response when I was only attempting to explain the general motivations of most people and the post I was responding was extremely loaded and accusatory. No one criticized all of the problems in that post. I don't see why he/she is allowed to say that feminists never ever have compassion for these men and have no place in influencing politics, but I'm not allowed to accurately explain the reasons for this not being on the forefront of most peopl…

It would be nice if someone were to answer my question instead of simply downvoting all of my posts.

Any number of rapists that go unpunished for their crimes is disgusting.

I will definitely do so, thank you for the information. Is it not still correct to say that it was never so frequently or widely practiced as MGM? I believe that if a similar religious practice was as common and traditional for female babies, we would be facing the same problem still trying to get rid of it. I am not saying that they should not be compared, only that they are different in many ways which explains (not justifies) the sexism regarding the law.

Generalization without scientific research to support it perpetuates stereotypes and hateful thinking. Even with real evidence, it should still be carefully used. Men may be more likely to commit murder, but to say "men are murderers" would be harmful and paint a negative picture of men.

I am speaking about the situation in countries like mine, America. There is no religious, traditional, or medical history of FGM. That is why FGM is illegal and MGM is not.

‘This might be due, in part, to greater ability of a longer penis to stimulate the entire length of the vagina, and the cervix.’ I find this incredibly confusing. Stimulating the cervix? What?

Discussion: The target is accused of making generalizations or supporting unwarranted stereotypes about women. Examples: “I’m not like that!” “Stop generalizing!” “That’s a sexist stereotype!” Response: One may point out that feminists and many other women make generalizations about men. Quotations from feminists, for example, can be easily obtained to prove this point. Also, one should note that pointing to a trend is not the same as overgeneralizing. Although not all women may have a certain c…

I don't know what you're referring to, but I don't feel you have any right to complain when every post I see in this subreddit has people complaining about feminists. Both groups should stop this counterproductive bitching about each other and work together to achieve equality, or isn't that the point?

I already stated that morally I feel they are just as wrong, but the situations are different. In our country, we have religious, "medical", and traditional reasons for circumcision, but not with FGM. It absolutely matters, because these differences are what will make it so difficult to eradicate.

Thank you for providing this information. It always bothers me when people place FGM and MGM side by side when they are in fact very different. I think both are unquestionably wrong, but it's inaccurate to claim that they are identical.

As a woman I am adamantly against circumcision. I think any medical data they produce for its benefits (usually inconclusive, anyway) is just a pathetic excuse to justify mutilating children. The only understandable reason is religious, and that still doesn't make it okay. A YouTuber that I really like, Laci Green, suggested that since a ban might be too difficult to push through, we should start by making parents read unbiased and informative materials on circumcision. I think it would be a gre…

Women are taught to expect it the same way that you've been taught to do it. The problem lies in our society that still teaches archaic and sexist values. Do not blame all women, their attitude is merely a product of intense conditioning. You have the choice of whether to pay for them or not, and if they don't accept that, there are plenty of other women who will. In my experience, I have never met a woman who was unwilling to at least pay for half of all couple-related expenses. Don't let it ma…

What are you talking about? No true feminist would ever be okay with this. Feminists do not think that women never lie about rape. They lie about it not happening more often than they lie about it happening. Of course they have compassion for men in situations like this. You have to remember that of the actual rapes that happen (to both women and men), a vast number go unreported. Of the reported cases, a disgusting number of rapists walk free without even facing any jail time. The number of men…

This is exactly the kind of anti-feminist attitude that gets you grouped in with other MRA's like in this article.

I agreed with you until you started railing on feminists. There are real statistics that prove discrimination against women AND men. I don't understand why you would claim otherwise.

Rape is rape regardless and instead of bitching over stats and trying to manipulate them to make a case, how about we all band together to stop it so no one, regardless of gender, rapes or is raped? I can't believe the amount of bickering over this data that happens. Imagine if we put that time and energy to something actually useful like raising awareness and stopping rape, rather then having these great FEMINISM VS MRA debates every single day? I completely agree. Although, if it is true that …

If we define rape as forced penetration for women and both forced penetration and being forced to penetrate for men, we can find these statistics by looking at the lifetime data. 21425040 lifetime female forced penetration rapes (perpetrated by man) 414960 lifetime female forced penetration rapes (perpetrated by woman) 1475073 lifetime male forced penetration rapes (perpetrated by man) 105927 lifetime male forced penetration rapes (perpetrated by woman) 1133808 lifetime male forced to penetrate …

Why not look at this article as a whole instead of applying everything in it to only one of the cites referenced (yours)? Many of the cites linked do fall under the general criteria listed in the article, and though it may not make up the majority of this subreddit, some those attitudes still do exist here. You guys are upset that this article grouped your subreddit in with other anti-feminist cites, yet respond by criticizing and blaming feminism. I would think the proper response would be to d…
