I left France a while ago and "mental health day" wasn't really a thing... Somehow, people did not need mental health day 15 years ago. No it wouldn't work because it is obvious it is cheating the system. It wouldn't work in front of an employer, wouldn't work in front of a judge and people would be upset because they know that abuse would lead to legal changes, that would be more restrictive.

If you take n=more than 2 days in a row you NEED a doctor's note. The taking one sick day right before taking time off is a little suspicious so people don't do it. Finaly, there is a minimum of 5 weeks pto per year... less incentive to add any by cheating.

People just don't abuse the system. It is fairly easy to know when someone is sick or not. Not saying that there is 0 abuse but all in all it works fine. Someone who is sick Monday, Wednesday and Friday would be fired pretty quickly.

I am not a teacher but something I noticed with Montessori teaching is that a lot of concepts are presented in a physical way. The kid can interact and visualize the concept. This is very true for mathematics. They can touch and see quantities. They can see that 10^2 is a square of tens. As opposed watching an explanation on a blackboard by the teacher. I agree with all you said but the pattern used to find the "prostitutes", some of them as young as 12, is really shitty. I think that guy was a POS but it is sad he did not face justice. The real one, not the mob justice.
