1	Why all this matters. I don't think anyone realizes the almighty physical reality of childbirth until they're holding their screaming little bundle of joy. I never bought into the whole Madonna and child aspect of having a baby; I knew that for a few years it was going to be a long, messy slog punctuated with a few giggles and coos here and there.
