I used to have an oral fixation and would tell guys because I knew it would make them think about me sexually. I was so desperate for male attention in my early 20s… sad.

I once had a guy describe a sexual fantasy to me where I'd look into his eyes as I slobbered all over his dick (sorry for the visual, lol). Not sure if it was the eye contact thing or the slobbering thing or both but to me it felt gross and pornsick-y. Seeing as he's your ex there's no way to know why he liked it but tbh even if you asked him, he could easily lie and say that he likes the intimacy when really it just reminds him of 99% of blowjob porn scenes.

One of the main things I look for in a man is his willingness and ability to give shoulder rubs so this is an absolute no go 😂

I remember when I first moved to London seeing several ads for free accommodation where the offer was sleeping in the same bed as the other tenant (a man, of course). Or sometimes they wouldn’t explicitly say they wanted to share a bed but the listing would only mention 1 bedroom despite there being another tenant… or they’d say something like “there’s only one bedroom but we can figure the details out later”. These guys are really trying to trick vulnerable women into prostitution!

Getting honked at is the absolute worst. It startles the shit out of me and makes me jump out of my skin because for a second I think I’m in danger of getting hit by a car or something. And what for??? Congratulations, asshole, you got my attention. Now what?! I hate this shit!

Ugh I feel your pain. Today I walked to the ice cream parlour for an afternoon treat as I have a fever and was generally having a shitty day. I was wearing an oversized T-shirt, shorts, and Birkenstock’s with my hair looking crazy and my face looking all red and flushed. A man drives past in his car WITH HIS KIDS in the back seat and honks at me while leaning out of the window and giving me a disgusting smile and wink. Then another guy who was sitting on a park bench was leering at me as if he h…

My little brother's friend came over for dinner the other day and brought ice cream for everyone and a separate vegan sorbet for me. A HVM in the making :')

I'll never forget that time a bunch of friends and I were invited to a friend's house for dinner when we were 15/16. Her dad was cooking and I checked in advance if he'd be able to accomodate me as I am vegetarian. He said "no problem". When I got there, I politely checked again if there would be a vegetarian option and if not, I'd be happy to help prepare something. He said there would be vegetarian food for me and not to worry. So dinner is served, and we're all sitting around the table, I tak…

The prospect of damaging/losing my teeth is enough to make me not want biological kids. Teeth are the one part of your body that do not repair/regenerate themselves! And dental work is sooooo damn expensive and hardly any insurance plans cover it so I don't play when it comes to my teeth.

One guy I matched with on Tinder when I was 23 had his age as 28. Met in real life and I immediately told him he looks way older (lol, no shame) and he confessed to being 38 and changing his age because he hardly got any matches when he used his real age. Cry me a river! How that wasn't a HUGE RED FLAG at the time is truly mind boggling. I also came across a male acquaintance of mine on OLD who uses a fake name and a much younger age. So gross.

The last guy I dated wanted to know about my childhood trauma soooo bad. I’m proud of myself for sticking to my guns and not telling him about it but it’s gross how pushy he was. It’s as if he felt that he had the right to know EVERYTHING about my past yet he would rarely tell me about his own childhood. He didn’t want to be vulnerable yet wanted me to expose every part of myself so that he’d have the power to use my trauma against me? No thanks.

A “Dom” I was involved with a few years back is a trauma surgeon. I’m not going to try to diagnose his mental illness/personality disorder but I can confirm that he was the biggest asshole I’ve EVER dealt with. Completely insane and lacking in empathy.

Thanks for sharing this! After dealing with recurring sexual health issues during my prime Pickmeisha days, I feel so good about my decision to remain abstinent for the foreseeable future. It's been almost 1 year since I last had sex (with a NVM unfortunately) and let me tell you, this kind of inner peace is priceless. I used to worry about STDs and pregnancy all the time... and for good reason! I got HPV and my cycle used to be all out of whack because of morning after pills and general NVM-ind…

I think you should focus on building up your self-esteem. Maybe find some women in their 30s to look up to and get inspired by. I used to be so scared of being older than 26 lol... but I'm now 28 and feel more comfortable and confident with every passing year. This society is so toxic and makes women feel like they start losing their value as soon as they hit 30. It's all bullshit and a man of value will be able to see through it. Love yourself and learn to appreciate how far you've come in your…

Word. A guy I briefly dated 4 years ago tracked me down on reddit (I forgot that back in the day he knew my username) and just messaged me to tell me that FDS is an echo chamber, that it's just like the red pill, and that I'm bitter blah blah blah. The fact that I haven't spoken to this condescending, pencil-dicked rapist for over 3 years and he felt the need to write to me to offer his unwelcome and shitty advice because I'm "brilliant, truly" and "deserve better" is... actually hilarious, amon…

Yeah, he refused. He didn't think he had any infection to clear up since he didn't have any symptoms. Which is so stupid since a quick google search will tell you that men especially can be asymptomatic when it comes to things like yeast infections.

Sorry but I think I puked in my mouth a little... the visual of the gingivitis paired with literal shit breath... so nasty! I had no idea gingivitis can be contagious?! Even more reason to be careful who you date. I just don't understand how people can look in the mirror, see the plaque and the build up and taste their nasty breath and not feel the need to do anything about it.

Same! And what's more fucked up is that the doctor simply wanted him to apply a topical cream whereas I was forced to use cream, suppositories, AND take antibiotics (multiple times) because my infections were so bad. Antibiotics aren't something to play with! The nerve of that guy... can't believe I stuck around for as long as I did. But I forgive you, 20-year-old me!

Oh wow... fucking disgusting! First guy I ever dated gave me yeast infection after yeast infection because of his dirty dick. Took me a while to put two and two together and realise that he was the problem. Gyno told me to get him to apply a medicinal cream on his dick or else I'd keep getting an infection. He refused. UGH

Great news! If I hadn't brushed my teeth for my entire childhood I'd have no teeth left by the time I turned 18... my teeth are sensitive and fragile though. Anyway, keep up the good work! I know how it feels when the dentist tells you what a good job you're doing at keeping your teeth clean :)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/05/20 08:03 PM

The audacity! But I personally don't think dentistry is a scam... it's so important to take care of your teeth as it's the only part of your body that can't heal itself. Lose a tooth and it's gone for life. Of course there are implants and all that but those procedures are so expensive and can lead to different issues (problems with chewing, teeth grinding, etc etc)... I'm a bit of a tooth nerd! And tooth pain is the WORST pain. Well I've never given birth but it's the worst pain I've experience…

I’m always telling him about his bad breath, and he just responds with a dumb comment like “I didn’t eat garlic.” Then someone responded with: "You’re lucky he has a low sex drive? Why are you even married?" That's what I want to know too! How can one settle for this! OP says she doesn't think he's depressed and he's hygienic in other areas of life... I'm at a…

It's truly shocking how many people don't clean their teeth properly. Especially men and especially here in the UK. It was so hard to leave my last LVM in the dust because despite his flaws and lack of consideration in many regards, he had beautiful clean teeth. SO hard to find. A guy I dated a couple of years ago only brushed his teeth in the morning. I only realised after a couple of months and when I tell you that my desire for sex (with him) went from 100 to 0 in a matter of seconds...

I've been thinking of getting rid of my bdsm stuff too. The only thing holding me back is that some of it is quite expensive and I'm wondering I should try and sell them (e.g. collars from Coco de Mer that go for 100 bucks).

No. So many guys are crawling out of the woodworks right now due to all the self-isolation taking place. People are bored. He just wants you for entertainment right now. Or else he wouldn't have ghosted you for a month. And unless you did something deserving of being ghosted, the act of ghosting is something that LVM do - not HVM.

A fuckboy from my past has resurfaced this week. He asked me if I'm free to meet for a drink because he needs someone to talk to. First of all, we're not supposed to be gathering in public spaces right now. Secondly, do I look like a free therapist?! I almost felt bad for a moment... he said he reached out because I'm the closest person to him (physically, he means... we live 5 minutes away from eachother) and he's dealing with poor mental health. I started thinking "oh god, what if he's suicida…

I have a friend who for the longest time claimed to love anal sex. She would do it with all of her one night stands. Recently the topic came up and she was like "actually, I didn't like it that much but guys go crazy for it so it turned me on to know I'm turning them on that much"... yeah, that sounds a lot like mental gymnastics to me.

"...possibly because they want to fuck again, but there's also the possibility that they're into you." If all they want to do is fuck again, it's a no from me. And if there's a possibility that they're into me, it's still a no from me. He waited 2 days after sex to text? And you've been on 7-8 dates? Pass! If I were in your situation, I would sense that he's just not that interested in me. I no longer entertain the "possibility" of someone being into me after that many dates... it really doesn't…

You're doing great!! And I relate to this so much! The majority of the men I've been romantically/physically involved with have sexualised me and objectified me straight off the bat so it's always felt normal. Even as a child I remember hearing comments from grown men saying how beautiful I was and "if only you were older...". As I got older, it would feel flattering (and at times arousing) when I'd notice men leering at me. I used to get a real kick out of married men flirting with me but now w…

No problem! What stood out to me the most, aside from the perfect analogy comparing men to dogs who treat women like buried bones, was the part at the end where she tells us not to spend more than 20% of our waking hours interacting with a man. Because before you know it, you have become attached and connect this man’s attention with comfort and once he withdraws the attention you have become dependent on, you’re fucked!

Are you in the UK by any chance? So many guys on OLD here tell me they just want to "cuddle" too. In my experience, they want to cuddle because it will likely lead to sex. But yeah, it's a really weird thing to say so casually when you haven't even met someone yet. It's like one level up (or down?!) from "let's hang out". Because they are suggesting physical contact... but of the "innocent" variety. Dunno. It weirds me out too now.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/03/20 03:37 PM

All very good reasons! The only time I asked a guy out (not including on OLD) was because I knew he was on the autism spectrum and therefore is really bad at picking up on social queues... but that relationship went nowhere fast so wasn't even worth it on that occasion. This just reminded me that I was the one who asked out the last guy I was seeing (met on OLD) and it went to shit real quick. Never again.

Yesss a fellow woman who doesn’t remove body hair! No guy has ever commented on mine either. I actually used to apologise in advance (like, just before having sex for the first time) for having hair in order to not “scare” the guy away lol... but they’ve never cared. I did this with my most recent fuckboy (blocked him too) and 2 days later ran into him at the gym. Today I walked past him on the street. The perils of dating people who live in your area! Any tips for how to deal with bumping into a LVM you've removed from your life? Chances are I'll run into him again and I don't want to feel anxious about going to the gym as working out is what I normally do to get rid of my anxiety!

When I first matched with this guy on an OLD app, he described himself as "spontaneous, tactile, and introspective". 2 months in and I now know what these things REALLY mean... Spontaneous = Doesn't plan dates in advance, just texts me on the night to see if I'm "down to hang out". Tactile = Wants sex. Wants sex ASAP. Introspective = Terrible communicator. These men ain't shit.

This sub made me realise that this LVM/pickme dynamic can play out in friendships as well. It just became very clear to me that one of my girlfriends is the LVM (or LVW) and I’m the pickmeisha in our relationship. She always talks about seeing me but is never willing to set a date in case something better presents itself, I guess. She will play me hot and cold. Thank you, I posted an update on the main post if you'd like to see what's going on and what I decided to do. Appreciate the feedback so much!

Came here to say this. Men don't communicate because they do not care to communicate. They want to keep you in the land of confusion, uncertainty, and overthinking because it gives them all the power without them having to do a damn thing!

With every post and comment I read, I feel my tolerance for bullshit from men and the patriarchal society as a whole becoming lower and lower. It's like I'm working out the muscles of self-love and self-respect that I didn't even know I had. It's also like... taking a self-defence class but it's not a physical thing, it's a mental thing. I am so much more aware of the TRUE nature of what's going on around me and also so much better prepared to fight against it/be unbothered by it. I love y'all 😭…

In the part of the world where I live, it's very normal to have sex early on. Most of the people I know will usually have sex with someone within 3 dates. If the first meet involves alcohol then it's very likely the sex will happen on date 1. It's seen as normal liberal behaviour and I fully bought into it even though it's never made me feel good, neither mentally/emotionally nor physically. I'm not saying that having sex early guarantees the guy is a LVM (as I have a friend who is engaged to a …

I've known better for a long time but only now is the knowledge starting to reaaally sink in thanks to this sub. I have already blocked him but it's still on my mind... #recoveringpickmeisha 😂

THIS! I'm on day 2 of ignoring a text from this guy yet I've still let him take up way too much space in my brain. So maybe he thinks I don't care (if he's even thinking about me at all) but here I am... writing about it, thinking about it, being annoyed by it, and caring too much about a situation with someone who is probably out having a hoot and a half on a Saturday night without a care in the world. All I can say is I'll do better next time!

Ugh this makes me sad because the last guy I was seeing suggested we go bowling for our first date which was sweet and showed a degree of effort but like an idiot I actually suggested we meet for a [non-alcoholic] drink instead - this was pre-FDS. For the second date he wanted to make me a home-cooked meal which definitely showed effort because the recipe was elaborate but I decided at the last minute that I didn't want to go to his house that soon. So we went to the movies. Unfortunately, after…

The craziest thing is how every single one of the guys I've dated has been like this. I learned to recognise the behaviours that hurt me in past relationships and would see them crop up again with the next guy and I'd STILL fall for it. One can really get addicted to being breadcrumbed. You are literally trained like a dog to tolerate the lows because you know a "high" is coming again eventually. And it's never worth the pain because dudes who breadcrumb ain't shit and have nothing of genuine va…

I really needed to read exactly this. I told the guy I'd been seeing that "oh, guess I just misunderstood you. My bad!" after I [correctly] interpreted his mixed signals as a lack of interest and he "assured" me that he is into me. Of course he then proceeded to ignore my text for 2 days... and it became abundantly clear that's he's full of shit. Fell right into his trap.

This is such a good idea!! A few years ago I got a specific tattoo on my upper thigh to remind myself of the bad bitch that I am... yet clearly it did not work because I continued to entertain and fall for the fuckiest of fuckboys. A ring on my hand will probably work better as I can see it at any time of day, clothed or unclothed.

Why do guys who I've met once 5 years ago (maybe through Tinder or at a bar) follow me on social media still? I don't follow any of these men anymore yet they all religiously watch my instagram stories. They rarely engage with me by liking a post or commenting something... they just lurk. What are they trying to achieve?! I'm about to remove them all from my follower list and make my account private... tired of randoms witnessing my life.

Yeah... I have a bad habit of always seeing the best in people and trusting them and believing what they say. When it comes to men, this has only ever burned me in the end.

Yeah, I'm well aware I'm not his priority. The longer I ignore his text the less I care about all this. He's already fading from my conscience.

I'm right there with you... I was a big supporter of "honesty is the best policy" to the point of letting people know what's on my mind at all times. I know better now though... people will use it against you.

Thanks! I love my therapist! She's amazing and does all the things you listed. Sadly for me, she's going on maternity leave for a year starting in 2 weeks. But I've learned so much during our time together and yesterday she reassured me that high value men (she used a different term) do exist - she's married to one.

Not a lie was told! I have asked myself all those questions and even unpacked some of them in therapy yesterday. Stems from some childhood trauma (surprise surprise) among other things. I'm probably just going to give him the same energy he's been giving me: hardly any energy at all. I'll probably not reply to his text or just do what another woman suggested which is to tell him I don't see this going anywhere and that he can keep the crackers. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! App…

The visual of a gaggle of pickmeishas orbiting some fuckboy is hilarious to me... but your message is very important! Thank you for the reminder. I ended up in a situation like yours before and it's easy to forget how hurtful it was after some years have passed. I wouldn't be surprised if he's doing this to multiple women.

<3 Yes, I'll read it again. Our relationship played out mostly pre-FDS so I'm going to forgive myself for the cringe-inducing way I handled this whole situation and make better choices next time.

LOL your opening line killed me! You really broke this down in a very understandable way and you read me so well! I appreciate the practical advice. And you're so right about his feelings not being my responsibility. Chances are he won't even be bothered by me shutting him down because if he valued my presence is his life he would have made an effort to express that. Thank you!

Today I went to my weekly therapy session, as I've been doing for the past 6 months, and I was ANGRY. This sub helped me confront all the anger I've been harbouring inside - anger towards the countless men who have walked all over me. I've already forgiven myself for not knowing any better and allowing them to use and abuse me so today was all about letting the rage out. It was so cathartic and a necessary step in my journey to true self-love and maybe one day finding a real HVM of my own. Been …

I need to be reminded of this on a regular basis so thank you! Recently I started seeing a guy who was so sweet and attentive at first and after the first few dates he started taking AGES to reply. I'm talking 24-48 hours. He works freelance and I know it's a quiet time of the year for him so there's literally no excuse. Of course, being the recovering pickmeisha that I am, I made excuses for him like "oh, his dad is sick, he's probably preoccupied" or "he did say he struggles with depression, I…

Yes there are revenge porn laws where I live. The last thing I want to do is engage with him any further though so I think I'm just gonna leave it. Especially now that I've blocked him and he's probably noticed and is angry about it. He's an AWFUL person and any exchange that would follow is something I want to avoid. Luckily he has a high profile career so I don't think he'd be stupid enough to ruin that just to get back at me. Or maybe he would be... men are constantly proving themselves to be…

I really needed to read this! Up until last week I was letting a man who used to be my "Dom" *pukes due to embarrassment* (more on my horrible experience with BDSM later) continue to have access to me over texts. I've wanted to block him and move on for over a year but I was scared to because he has so many pictures (and videos!) of me (with my face in them!). He proved to be a complete narcissist sociopath who clearly enjoyed manipulating and abusing women under the guise of BDSM so I don't tru…
