Are you likening women in politics to having infants in public service? I don't think that's a fair comparison since we have laws about minors working, consenting, driving, etc. They're still developing... Of course they aren't ready for public service. But adult women? I don't see what is wrong with that. This sounds very archaic and "women are too soft hearted for politics." And how is this discussion censored? We're having it now. The only discouraging thing is all the downvotes.

I agree, and I do. I used to frequent those subs trying to understand. But they are often at the point where they don't want to talk, help others understand, or hope for change. I think that's fair, as long as both parties took legitimate steps to prevent pregnancy in the first place and both were equally responsible. But a lot of the problem could be solved by people honestly discussing this scenario before having sex at all. And scouting crazies of both genders.

Men also can control who they have sex with and the risks they are willing to accept with that person. Men have condoms, vasectomies (which are reversible) and potentially birth control pills or gels. If a man isn't willing to risk being a father, he also needs to be responsible for mitigating or eliminating that today completely. It isn't solely the woman's responsibility.

I agree that it gets sticky after conception (although yes I also agree that women should have autonomy over their bodies) so my point was that both parties should take EVERY precaution to avoid becoming pregnant in the first place. Guys do have control over that, but are often reckless with it. If you don't want to be a father, or even take that chance, make sure your taking responsibility for your own sperm. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

However, I make damn sure to be encouraging and supportive when he opens up about even the littlest thing. I'm glad to hear that. I like some of the issues pointed out in this sub, and I consider myself an ally for men's rights, but some of what I've seen said on this sub paints the movement in a negative light, more akin to the image in question, which is disgusting to me. Also fun piece of anecdotal trivia: a prison worker and her husband a deputy sheriff came in to my office today, they both work in prisons, and they said the women's prisons have at least twice as many fights as the men's prisons do. They have at least one a day in the women's prison where as that's not the case at the men's facility. Don't know if that is an over all trend or just in the prisons they work for. I just found that interesting.
