Can massively confirm this. Sadly I had kids with an LVM before I knew about FDS and he does the BARE MINIMUM for his kids and genuinely thinks he is doing the most he can do. My kids are wonderful humans and they deserve SO much better. I only hope that I'm enough to teach them to grow into HVM's. 😔

I hate to break it to you but I'm 33 and have never been spoiled by a man either. 🤦🏼‍♀️ In all honesty, there's nothing wrong with you, it's them! Go spoil yourself, that's what I do and it's fabulous. <3

This is so heartwarming to read as a single Mum! I left a 12 year relationship (with 2 kids in tow) because I found this sub a year previously and knew my gut instinct that I wasn't in the right relationship was something I needed to follow; it was THIS sub that gave me the confidence to realise I could be so much happier and that I should put myself first for once. My ex wasn't abusive (well, not physically), but he lacked communication skills and respect for me and he put work first. I took 90…

Yes! A guy has just ghosted me and I kept analysing what I said and what I did wrong when I realised it doesn't matter what I did, he was just an LVM douche and now the way he's acted makes me cringe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This was me!! I was in a relationship for 12 years and I just knew in my gut it wasn’t right for years but nothing was definitively wrong so I thought, oh hey it’s just a bad patch or I can’t break up when nothing major has happened, but then I found FDS, we ended 2 years ago and I’ve been living my best life ever since (quite literally my business has grown phenomenally, I’m financially self-sustainable and I’m cutting out men I would’ve dated for much longer the second I feel it’s not right). …

This has literally just happened to me with a guy after a month and you are so right! Thank god for FDS I didn’t tolerate any further because like you, I would previously have thought it was something to do with me when I absolutely know now he was an LVM posing as HVM. Bye babe! 👋🏻

😱😱 I have only ever left my kids with my parents or their Dad. I am extra extra anxious anyway but I just don't understand this at all. I'd never leave them alone with a guy even if I'd been with him for years.

Totally! I'm not looking for a Dad for my kids. There is no way in hell I'd be introducing a man to my children until at least a year, maybe more, of a relstionship. I haven't met a SINGLE man in the past 2 years who has even remotely been good enough for me or my children.

So glad I've read this. I have always disclosed I have kids early on for the reasons you've mentioned and will never do so again. I'm not using online dating at the moment anyway and not sure I ever will again but if I do, I will certainly be hiding the fact I have children. Ugh, literally disgusting the lengths we have to go to to protect ourselves and our children from depraved men.

This is beautiful! I only hope I'm teaching my two boys to be HVM's as they grow. ❤️

Sameeee girl! I did pick up a new car paid for entirely by ME after working my ass off to achieve a career I love after dumping an LVM 1.5 years ago, woop!

I've been thinking about doing this. I've been single for 1.5 years now and my friends treat me better than any man ever has. I regularly receive flowers, chocs and the odd bottle of wine dropped off when I'm having a rough time (single mum of two kids 😅). I've stopped dating as never even got closing to finding a man who treats me as well as my friends do! 🤦🏼‍♀️

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
