Sucks that she was raped, it really does. I set out to study economics, but online I always saw people saying it was a meme degree, so now I'm doing something in the medical field. But more recently people have been saying econ is a super respectable degree again, with lots of job opportunities. Ultimately, I talked to a couple of older guys who had their econ degree, and their advice to me was to get my master's in econ, because a bachelor's isn't worth very much today. I think the number is grossly inflated because of the number of kids raised on welfare, the beaurocracy eats through so much capital. So for example for every $100,000 taxed probably only around $15,000 in benefits reach the recipients. Just to add, for my entire childhood my parents did not make $800,000 total, and I lived a decently comfortable life with one other sibling.
