Thanks for asking blutarg. I'm doing well. As u/tallwheel said in another comment, I took some responsibility for my own happiness after this incident. Strangely enough, that made things worse for a time (I left an increasingly abusive relationship and ended up in jail on a false accusation charge,) so then I had to fight goddamn tooth and nail for my happiness. I've got Catholic guilt, so I like to say I was fortunate, but others have told me I'm a survivor. Either way, I didn't give up. It's b…

I had to ultimately be responsible for my own happiness in the end, and not put that responsibility on whatever woman I happen to be pursuing. You're right tallwheel. You know that, and she knew that, and used it against me. If I knew that at the time, she wouldn't have been able to. I want to take this moment to reach out to any men or boys reading. I wish I knew someone like u/tallwheel when all this was going down. Hell, I wish I knew what reddit was. The thing is deep down inside I knew this…

Thank you for your kind thoughts. The gf after this one was actually worse (another long story) but due to sheer luck I am in a better place now. I just wish I could share my good fortune with all the men and boys suffering in abusive relationships.

I got into a dating situation with a girl I had a crush on. I just got out of a 6 year relationship where I ended up breaking it off after she cheated on me. I also had a death close to me a few months prior. I should have known better than to start dating so soon after 2 traumatic events, but I went for it anyway. Our first date was amazing, as was our second. Then she started ghosting me. One week, then two, then three. I objected to this treatment and broke it off. However when I refused to p…

I'm amazed the investigation went as deeply as it did. A lot of places testimony alone is enough to pursue charges.

You'd think then they'd cycle out weak cases for the more clear cut ones. I'm fairly confident in the defense I have against my accuser's false accusation, but I'm being told the DA here would rather try a weak case and lose rather than drop a charge.

Except in WA. I have a video recording of my ex flipping out on me after having attacked me, exposing her mindset for what would later turn into a false domestic violence accusation: that she sincerely believed I never loved her and I was just using her until something better came along. Not addmisable under our wiretapping laws. I needed her consent.

Im not so lucky either. I tried to leave my abusive ex and she instead injured herself, called the cops and said I did it. I've now lost my job, and if convicted, won't be able to find gainful employment ever again. I'm also nearly out of savings and about to be homeless. This is on top of my already bad depression, and a shit ton of other things that were manageable until this. Taking my own life us looking like a viable option at this point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
