I think what's best is a good husband that's a match for you, and I'd imagine there are a plethora of other metrics that are better indicators of a "good husband" for you than just this one. Also, nuance is important - people don't have some floating tally score above their heads that's some absolute composite of various measures. As many other commenters mentioned, it depends on when/how/why the body count was accumulated, and what the consequences of those actions were on the potential mate - …

I work in a high paying field, and my husband runs a small business that's in its very early stages. Most of what his business earns is funneled right back into the business to keep the growth going, and I'm the primary earner for our family. We're having a little girl imminently, and we talked about how to split things up once she gets here. We both agreed that it makes way more sense, given his time flexibility and earning potential at the moment, for him to take all home duties and many baby …

You were discussing marriage two days ago and now he says a profile photo you chose is a dealbreaker? Hmmmm.

Lots of great comments already. One thing that I’ve seen help men is having a brotherhood and doing something fun so it didn’t feel like working out and there was accountability. My husband and I do Martial arts (Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian jiu jitsu) and it’s amazing. It’s rough housing and play, and the guys form ridiculously strong bonds. It’s scalable for any age and fitness level, and getting fit is kinda inevitable, provided you show up and maybe clean up the diet a little. Best is,…

Bold of you to assume you have choices that are so far removed from your physiology. You don't - you only have the illusion that you do. Neurological imaging studies have shown that your brain makes a decision prior to your awareness of it; it backfills a neat little story for you to feel like you're in the driver's seat. Your personality and your actions are governed by your biology, and that is an inescapable reality. You, too, are programmed to behave the way you do. How could you possibly no…

"Men being providers/women the care takers are gender roles. They are social constructs (made up.) " Neurological, psychological and sociological research says otherwise. There are inherent gender differences in behaviors, motivators, thoughts, and desires that cannot be explained by societal conditioning. Also, bold of you to claim that your psychology could ever be unlinked from your physiology, given that your mind/personality is the product of an observable series of physical phenomena gener…

tl;dr: Physical sexual dimorphism exists and is not a cultural construct. Many cultural trends develop in order to accentuate sexual dimorphism. Many beauty trends come to being because they accentuate/exaggerate some physical feature that is naturally feminine or desirable (like youthfulness). Testosterone (the male hormone) causes more hair, and coarser hair, to grow on the body. Hairiness (amount and coarseness) is absolutely more naturally associated with men than women. Even though women al…

The local bdsm community and okcupid (this was years ago when I wasn’t looking for a serious relationship, but just play partners and experiences; I was in a very different place in life. This was also pre-Covid, not sure how things have changed)

I don't think your points are wrong, but I also don't think they're the strongest arguments. STDs - it's actually really easy not to get an STD, even if you like casual sex. If you look at what the communities that enjoy more open play and sex do, many are very particular about rules. Often times, you need to get a blood test, and not have had sex with anyone new in X period of time, and there's a vouching system of trust so you know people aren't just lying to you. Or if you sleep with a few se…

I don't have advice, but I do have commiseration. I'm an assertive, driven, successful woman and I actually really enjoy aggressive activities (martial arts). I'm also feminine and submissive, but *only* to guys that are more dominant than me. In my preference, I would not shrink away myself in order to make a man seem more dominant by comparison - I've instead sought out a man that is more dominant than I am and who make me look submissive by comparison. It's amazing! When I've tried to shrink …

I’m 36 and pregnant with my first. Healthy, low risk pregnancy with a healthy, perfect little girl (so far!). Before getting pregnant, I took being healthy and very active very seriously, so my pregnancy has fewer risks than many younger but less healthy and active women. Age is a single factor in pregnancy risk.

I second this. I used dating apps for most of my 20s, and although I found some LTR dudes, they weren't really marriage material for one reason or another (I even married one, but that was a biiiiig mistake). I met way more men that shared my values and fell in line with traditional masculinity through martial arts (BJJ / muay thai kickboxing). I know that sounds like a super non-feminine space and traditional dudes would be turned off, but they actually love other women who train, and if anythi…

Everyone already hit on what I was going to say - just wanted to echo the sentiment to get out. He's not a HVM at all, is manipulative and using you, and you can do so much better. You may be worried about the fact that you're 30, but I wouldn't be. I'd be worried about sinking any more time into him and getting older, never reaching your dreams. If he has sooooo many other options, then have at it. He can mooch off of them, and you can go on the hunt for a real catch. Good luck to him finding a…

100% agree. I think you'd like "Can't Hurt Me" by David Goggins :) Also "Coddling of the American Mind" by Jonathan Haidt

Hey there! I know red pill talks about how women's value is highest early and begins to drop, but I find it helpful to keep in mind that this is "in general" and "on average". There are many situations that fall outside of that, and if you are one of them, that's okay - it just means your trajectory will be different, and you will need to adjust. I'm 36 and spent the better part of my adult life as a left leaning, career focused, sexually liberated, polyamorous woman. It took a series of very in…
