This is a fake quote. Ashleigh Ingle never said this, and while feminists promote plenty of ludicrous concepts, we open ourselves up to ridicule when we rail against strawmen and allow ourselves to be taken in by parody or satire.

This meme is just a joke, and I don’t have a problem with it (aside from the religious imagery). I do have a problem with all of the comments here, including yours. The worst thing about feminism is that it makes everything a competition. You played that game here when you should have refrained. Menstruation is obviously very painful for women - it’s not a “small thing.” At the same time, puberty is very hard for boys, and it’s not a “small thing” either. There is more to it than “my pp hard,” j…

"Botanical sexism"? Good grief. It says why they mainly plant male trees right there in the text: They shed no messy seeds, fruits or pods So there you go: if you want to have trees around, you either get a lot of pollen or you get a lot of rotting fruit on the ground of major cities letting off bad smells and attracting insects. Pick your poison. If we mainly planted female trees, they'd say "see how men colonize women's bodies?" If we planted male and female trees together, they'd start spread…

I checked out the account this originates from (@JohnDavisJDLLM), and all it posts is satirical/anti-feminist content. It even links to a website which bashes Jordan Peterson for not being anti-feminist enough. So yeah - fortunately this is a troll, and it would be best not to take it too seriously. If you look up "coronavirus should not be more important than MY needs as a non-binary feminist" on Google, you won't find any matches outside of Reddit, so even the caption doesn't originate from a …

SARS-CoV-2 just reached my city. I work remotely; my sisters work in service or retail, so they’re at greater risk of getting infected than I am. In other situations, men will be at greater risk than the women in their life. It doesn’t matter - we’re in the middle of a freaking pandemic, and it’s a crying shame that we live in a world where we have to compare how endangered we are by that.

That's not true. Babbage made the machine; Lovelace developed her own, unique algorithms for it and invented looping, which is a pretty big deal. Her contributions would have made the Babbage machine a genuine computer instead of a really elaborate calculator if it had ever been finished. It is - or ought to be - a nice example of the way men and women can cooperate without competing.

In terms of being careful, I think you had a better point about getting drunk. Alcohol has way more to do with sexual assault than clothing does, and feminists aren't typically willing to admit that: A. women should be careful about getting drunk with people they don't know, or B. women are just as responsible as men are for the decisions they make while they are drunk.

This is an argument I can't really get behind. It rests on four bad assumptions: Women who wear revealing clothing want to be raped: this obviously isn't true. Women who wear revealing clothing might be inviting sexual attention, but there is a huge difference between sexual attention and rape. This is a distinction that feminists have tried to erase, but we shouldn't let them. That there is a correlation between the clothes women wear and their likelihood of getting raped. This is the main poin…

My first SO made little drawings for me. I was in a tough spot; she made a card depicting us getting through it together. That meant an awful lot to me, and I held onto those drawings long after the relationship ended.

Nah, this comment is just unbridled cynicism masquerading as realism. It's not true that nobody cares about your problems. Friends do, and the right woman will - to an extent, and in a certain way. Yes, you can overshare, you can wear people out, and you can make yourself less attractive to women. It's also probably true that a random stranger on a park bench couldn't care less. But it's not true that "no one actually fucking cares dude"; that's literally just not true at all. If that's true for…

You are wrong. It's true that celibate men will often think of sex and feel frustration at its lack of satisfaction. But - provided they do not think like you - they will nevertheless lead productive lives, and perhaps the strength of sexual desire will help them to that end. As others have already pointed out, Isaac Newton, Nicolas Tesla, John Locke and many other prodigious males were single all their lives. To say that their existence was "unfulfilling" in spite of their obvious drive to live…

That unironically is how mgtow became a thing if you think about it. The difference between me and MGTOW is that - even though I recognize life can be fulfilling without sex/an SO - I'm not pushing them away either. I'd really like an SO, and I recognize that as a truth about myself. I will find one if I can. And if I can't, I'm still going to have a happy life. What I'm not going to do is either of these things: Decide life isn't worth living because I can't find my gal Decide all girls suck an…

I could understand that too. But there's a world beyond subjective, individual experience. One can make observations, absorb data, and use reasoning to arrive at sounder conclusions. And I'm not just saying that to grandstand - I'm saying that because it helps you to overcome those bad experiences, and have a better life. I've been in a dark hole like this before, and I climbed out of it. So if he's sincere, that's why I'm saying what I'm saying.

What does having lots of kids have to do with sex being relevant to women? What, do you not know how pregnancy works...? The point I was making is less about sex itself, and more about the fact that happy relationships between healthy men and women do exist (which involve sex even if they don't exclusively center around it). If for no other reason at all, women wouldn't want their husbands to get penile cancer, simply because they love their husbands. And I'm just going off a hunch, but I think …

Obviously you have had some bad experiences where "'love' was just a financially abusive friendship". I'm sorry - I have too. Most of us have. It is a common way that women exploit well-meaning but naive men. That being said: you should have the mental fortitude to recognize that this is not universally applicable to women, just as the statement "men just use women for sex" is not universally true of men. To say this kind of thing is a bit obnoxious, especially when you're in a place where you c…

It's fair to say that women value various niceties of love over sex; you are not wrong about that. It's also fair to say that men value sex over various niceties of love; you are not wrong about that either. You are wrong in saying they don't want sex. You strike me as the kind of guy who'd fume if a woman said that a man only wanted sex. So screw on your head straight and recognize that - while sex is a different emphasis for women - it isn't irrelevant to them either.

I said in my first comment "I went through a period of feeling depressed about my failed relationships". Ergo, I have been in a relationship. More than one. Without divulging the short but cumbersome tale of my life and its various disappointments, I'm satisfied that I know what I'm doing. And should there be more disappointments yet to come, I will take them. I wanted to marry young, even though I knew that was unrealistic. That's partly why I've made peace with the chance that I will always be celibate. If what you say is true, then c'est la vie: there is very much to live for all the same. But while I have not found a partner, I do know and am related to many women. You might be surprised how many of them are neither sexually experienced nor seeking a sexually experienced partner at that age. As such, I won't give up just yet. Thank-you for your we…

Idealistic People only get exploited, a lesson every person needs to learn. I've learned that already, and that is why I am buckling down on my standards. I will find a woman who thinks like I do. If I can't find one or if they don't exist, I will remain celibate. And yes, that's a good idea. I intend to get involved in charity work soon.

Why would you feel bad about this? Like honestly. Don't let the feminists and weird religious people get you down. "Your reasoning is that people find celibacy tough" Not my reasoning. Then nothing whatsoever is proved by pointing out that people have found celibacy tough, disappointing or impossible. That's trivially obvious. There has to be some connection showing how specific pains and misfortunes might drive people to discover purpose and deeper meaning. That will differ from person to person. For those who choose celibacy and stick with it, it seems clear that the difficulty is worth something to them. …

Do you not understand many, many religious devotes in fact break the pledge of celibacy? These are found in nearly every realm of religious fundamentalism, It is always more fun to talk about those who broke their commitments than to talk about those who kept them. What that proves, I do not know, for I never doubted that many find celibacy challenging or unrewarding. I myself find it trying, as I have frankly admitted. Bait The sexual abuse crisis in Rome is lower than the sexual abuse crisis in public schools. Obviously sexual activity is no obstacle to sexual perversion or abuse. The point is that some monks, nuns and other celibate people across time had fulfilling lives. This is absolutely true, as history testifies. I also notice a weird assumption that if you are unsatisfied in some way, your life must be unhappy. This is untrue: disatisfaction often lies at the core of one's treasures and accomplishment…

If I am 60 and married, I'll be proud of that. If I'm 60 and still a virgin, I'll be proud of that too. I won't be proud if I'm 60, unmarried, but I paid a woman to have sex decades ago and never met her again.

I hope so too. But if I can't, I've resolved to invest myself in other kinds of relationships. I have noticed that libido can drive me to do useful things, and I will let it serve that function.

I believe this because: I have recognized that it is true of myself It helps to explain why incels and "nice guys" over-invest It makes sense given the teleology of sexual relationships and their broader social function I recognize men have a strong libido. That is the reason porn exists. But that doesn't necessarily explain their existential issues which are (sometimes inextricably) tied to sexual frustration. Virgin at 23. Still looking for someone. It's frustrating, but life can be genuinely fulfilling without sex. I personally think - because sex has been decontextualized from interpersonal entanglements - men overestimate how much they really want sex and underestimate how much they just want to take care of others. I went through a period of feeling depressed about my failed relationships, and bleak future prospects. Then I realized I could just take a homeless guy out for coffee and feel 100% be…

If you have a relationship with a member of the opposite sex that's special enough to talk about with your SO, this is obviously one of the exceptions I acknowledged. I realize there are genuine instances of very close, completely platonic opposite-sex friendships. But - AFAIK - that's generally not what people have in mind when they ask this question.

The physical attractiveness system is weird. Objectively speaking, I'd say my GF is either a 7 or an 8. But I can't imagine feeling more attracted to anyone else. Like, I can recognize that a girl is a 10 and feel no attraction to her whatsoever, but can't look away from a picture of my GF. Even the things that are usually considered flaws somehow captivate me.

Me and my girlfriend have the opposite problem. We're incredibly good texters. Our chat-logs could fill a book, and it's interesting stuff too. I think it's less weird when girls do it (not assuming you're a girl; just in case) because A. Girls text more than guys do anyways, and B. Girls typically have more male friends than males have female friends. I know that's a generalization, but it's true in my experience. And no, it's not weird to randomly text friends. I don't count texting as hanging out with them at all. And as far as that goes, it depends on the kind of texts. I can understand polite, infrequent communication - checking up on things, wishing them happy birthday, etc. But texting them just to chat about random shit and shoot the breeze? To me that's weird.

I'll never understand people who apparently have so many friends of the opposite sex that staying away from them in a marriage is difficult. Plus, no SO cares if you're around a member of the opposite sex in a group context: they just don't want you spending time with them one-on-one. How many men have truly platonic female friends that they hang out with all the time? I'm not saying there aren't exceptions, but I doubt it's that normal. in what ways do you struggle and what do you believe the reasons are for your struggle? I think the biggest problem is a total lack of reliable protocol for courtship, dating or romance. When you bump into a girl these days, you have absolutely no clue what might be normal for them. What counts as one girls' respectful might be another girl's creepy. What counts as one girls' romantic might be another girls' boring. I come from a pretty traditional upbringing, so I was never on the casual dating…

Again, you don't need marriage to have a house, a partner and kids. I'll grant you that, but I'm not saying you can't: I'm saying you cannot have the precise kind of warmth and realness that comes with a traditional marriage and family without a marriage and family. That's trivially obvious. If that social structure were interchangeable with whatever "modern" scheme you have bobbing around in your brain, then one could not be superior or inferior. Why would not having kids be something to feel guilty over? What a strange assumption. It wasn't an assumption, it was a question. And no, it's not strange at all. People feel guilty about all kinds of things, and that's usually the reason they offer unsolicited justification of life choices to strangers. I notice you ignored one of my main points as well. CAESAR once, seeing some wealthy strangers at Rome, carrying up and down with them in their arms and bosoms young puppy-dogs and monkeys, embracing and making much of them, took occasion not unnaturally to ask whether the women in their country were not used to bear children; by that prince-like reprimand gravely reflecting upon persons who spend and lavish upon brute beasts that affection and kindness which nature has implanted in us to be bestowed on those of our own kind.
