But clearly you think men doing the same thing are wrong, 'cause…reasons? Even you have to admit there's a huge difference between what I did- which was genuinely assess the relationship and find it wanting, which unfortunately lead to my SO's insecurity, and what he did, which was recognize that he wanted to keep me around and consciously employ strategies to keep me insecure so he could keep me around. You get how that's different, don't you? Only if you think that what he did qualifies as "Re…

The difference was that the dread I employed was real- I was really questioning the relationship and trying to figure out if I should leave. Ah, so it's okay when you do it, but when guys do it… Well what would you recommend, staying in a relationship indefinitely even if it's not in your best interest? I wasn't trying to worry him, I was taking the time to figure out if a break up was the best thing. Which was a shitty implementation of dread game (clearly). It should go without saying that con…

I've got pretty limited time so can't reply now or probably within the next few days (I'll be off-grid. I'm a feeeemale who loves adventure! How odd!). You make some good points, but still show absolutely no evidence for why women are immoral. I've given a great deal of thought to morality, having left behind the morality given to me in my childhood and developed my own moral framework. Women are absolutely capable of deep thought about morality. I don't know why you think they aren't. Also, goo…

His was a very low level of dread. He didn't flirt with other women or anything. He limited our time together and tried to be stoic and used amused mastery. He tried to limit his expressions of affection, making sure to show less affection than I showed. I thought he just didn't like me as much as I liked him, and I was ok with that at first, I was willing to show him my worth. I was pretty confident he'd come around. But as time wore on it just got tiresome. And then various events showed that …

In your defense, though, it's very difficult to argue against me because I'm taking the stance that one really can't know. It's hard to argue against that. At the heart of my argument is this: Ya'll are wasting a lot of time and energy believing the worst about the people you're most attracted to.

Yes, men are more moral than women, and women are amoral. Virtuous falls under morals, empathy is really another subject. But men also exist more on both extremes, there are more very moral men than women, and more very immoral men that women. Isn’t this a contradiction? What kind of a curve are you imagining here? Also, this is problematic--- “Yes, men are more moral than women, and women are amoral.” What a funny statement- what proof do you have of this? Can you name some moral women figures?…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/16 08:30 PM

Do you really believe that men are more moral, virtuous, and empathetic than women are? You see, I sometimes have similarly uncharitable thoughts about men. It usually happens after I’ve been hurt or when I’m remembering a time I’ve been hurt by a man. It often also happens after reading red pill stuff. There seems to be ample evidence, both on red pill and in the wider world, that men are inferior to women. When I have these thoughts I check myself. Why? For many reasons, both pragmatic and ide…

How about this- bring up one specific premise of red pill that you feel is true, and we can discuss that. As to the rest- I'm not getting a lot out of this conversation. It's not challenging or informing or even really entertaining me anymore. I've got to allocate my resources (time being the most important of them) to things that challenge, inform or entertain me. So I'm not likely to continue unless it gets more interesting in those ways.

Nice, ignore most of my post. It's just a bunch of blathering opinions that every red piller spouts off with zero evidence except for their own fee fees. take your fee fees elsewhere, because I don't see them as evidence of anything. Though I do want to know, what is your career? My career is awesome, and it gives me vast amounts of freedom in my life that you will probably never know in yours. Why are you trying to defend yourself again? because im an evil terper? Son, I was answering your question in the briefest way I knew how. You represent no threat to me. I don't have to defend myself. Would this "im the one who is making the calls" attitude be still a problem if his ideas were actually good? Somebody's got to make the calls, and hopefully they're good. I just don't like deciding who makes the calls by looking at what lay between their legs--- it should be based on talent and int…

nah, we won't. I also think that maybe what you see as a man taming her, taking the reigns and such actually doesn't mean he has more power or control than her. Maybe you see it that way, because you're invested in seeing the man as more powerful- that's how the world feels good and right to you. but whatevs, I'm glad you and the missus are happy, and I'm glad you're not keeping it a secret. Good luck to ya!

What you lack is the humility to understand that reality doesn't conform to your thoughts and wishes. Everything you said is the same old tired stuff, that you spout off as fact without having subjected it to anything nearing scientific rigor. The world is changing, has changed, and you can't see it. I wish you and your wife/girlfriend the best of luck, because the world is a better place when people are happy. She probably has a lot more power in the relationship than you give her credit for.

Nearly all traditional marriages have been rp marriages. Most people's parents or grandparents. That’s true, and things have been pretty fucking shitty for women throughout history. Women couldn’t inherit wealth. Women couldn’t work to reach independence. We were systematically oppressed. Well, as with most relationships, we had a honeymoon phase and then we started to see some ways that we didn't mesh as well. He drew out the honeymoon phase- I think he was following some ideology that said you shouldn't see each other too often if you want the girl to stick around- and then, yeah, I started to see that the way he handled problems and disagreements was weird, then started to see that he was very dismissive of my solutions and views and seemed to think he was always right and the…

Because someone’s ideologies and philosophies really influence their behavior and the decisions they make. And your significant other has a profound influence on your life. Well...as any person with limited experience, I think they create the sort of relationship I was in when I was with a red pill type guy. And, seeing other descriptions from women like myself and some women on here who've found out their guys were into it, I'd say most confirmed red pill relationships come out pretty shitty. Branchswi..... Just kiddig. You're not kidding, and that's fine. It was branchswinging, if branchswinging means I left an unsatisfying relationship for the chance to have more satisfying relationships. But if by branchswing you mean that I left a beta guy for a more alpha guy (isn’t that what it usually means?) then no, I spent some time being single first. It had been coming a long time. As I said, it followed this trajectory- first, I was grasping for his love- the red pill tactics kept me on my toes and infatuated with him. Second, I made excuses for him and tried to "teach" him how to communicate and to love in a warm, mutually satisfying way. Third, I started to wonder if he was a bit dumb and accepted that he would probably never change. That's when I decided I wanted out. This was over several years. When people lie it's because they're ashamed of who they are and what they want. Considering the stigma over male wants and ''toxic masculinity'' I can understand it. I respect people who are honest about who they are. Let's be real him telling you he was trp at the start would not have led to you respecting him. of course not. so he's a fucking liar who's ashamed of who he is. Everything I said stands.

He did want an LTR. He proposed to me. Here's what I didn't like about our relationship: When I would try to communicate with him about things that mattered, he would snowball me. He would agree and amplify, use amused mastery, all that shit. It DID have its intended affect in the beginning- sometimes it would make me laugh, I would feel like he was a big strong oak and I was a wavery little wind. Didn't know he was into it before we broke up. Because he lied. If he'd been honest about the kind of relationship he wanted, I would have ended it sooner, because I don't want that kind of relationship. Instead, he let it drag out forever by lying about it. When people lie it's because they're ashamed of who they are and what they want. I respect people who are honest about who they are.

We're still in the midst of a big change, as women become more prominent in the workplace and men (to a lesser degree) take a more active role in child-rearing. This is a beautiful thing, as couples can decide for themselves who should do what, based on individual talent and desire, rather than just based on genitals. The best is yet to come, my friend. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by outsourcing our feminists, though by any measure I can think of, this is already happening. Most countrie…

How can women claim to be independent when they need the productive male population to finance them through taxes? How can men claim to be independent when they needed a productive female population to care for them as babies? How have men improved? You need to open your eyes, misandrist. It's an honest question. Women's roles have changed a great deal- men's as far as I can tell, haven't. How have men improved? Please tell me. I'm not saying men aren't good enough. I love men. But many couples I know are struggling because the woman is doing a LOT. She's out-earning him, she's bearing the children, she's doing most of the housework--- and the guy is struggling just to find a job that can support them.

Pretty much anyone who's young and has a glut of options is going to be "hypergamous" (although I don't think red pill actually uses that word correctly). People (men and women) will try to be with the best person they can get. If you had a bunch of options, fat and skinny women, would you go for the fat women? No, you'd go for the "best" one. So why does this phenomenon need a special name when women do it? Silly person.

I think it does actually help people do a little of both- take responsibility for improving their lives (fitness, making goals, understanding that you can't guilt someone into desire and such- those are wonderful parts of red pill) but...come on if you're being honest, you've got to admit there is a TON of whinging and blaming fucking everything on women- in fact I'm pretty sure that's 80% of red pill. I didn't read the whole post (I limit my time on the internet so I can do other things- former reddit addict here) but I think I got the main point and in a way, I agree with him. It is a bit creepy when anyone tries overly hard to attract someone. It does feel manipulative. I think that's a factor, along with confirmation bias. When a person starts to subscribe to a new belief, they search their environment for examples that confirm the belief. Because a lot of red pill beliefs are extremely abstract and difficult to measure, and because relationships between men and women are extremely complicated (and it's difficult to see what's really going on as an outsider- couples often hide problems from the outside world, or you simply get the perspective of one partner), …

I think it tends to work best on younger people, people who are having a rough time or people who have a glut of options (because if you have a lot of options, the person who holds back is often more enticing). but I am telling you, it works very well on men. I hate TRP because it encourages men to lie about their true beliefs to the person they are most intimate with- their spouse/significant other. I think that's fucking wrong. If the guy is honest about his beliefs and a woman chooses to be with him in a "red pill relationship" with full knowledge and of her own free will, more power to them both. It's the fucking lying that gets to me. Wouldn't it be easier to construct a red pill relationship if BOTH people were on board?

I don't know about telling someone to fuck off, exactly, but showing that you won't tolerate rudeness is great. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that single women should lower their standards, I'd be a lot richer than I am now. That advice is everywhere. In my limited experience, it also keeps you paranoid, constantly monitoring and strategizing, and keeps your partner from being the most self-actualized, interesting, vibrant version of themselves. You know, the same tactics work on men. I used to keep guys interested by feigning disinterest, and keep them groveling by threatening break up. I think any physical intimacy has special meaning. Most of us, I'd hope, were raised in such a way that when someone touched our bodies, it was someone we loved, trusted, and felt safe with. Mixing physical intimacy with violence and a complete lack of control or power - yes, that's going to fuck someone up. Suddenly, instead of associating physical touch with love, trust, and safety, they associate it with powerlessness, fear, and hate. This will have major implications for later relationships.…

See, that's how I feel about the men I date too. But I'm not so much curious about a guy's past sex life (as long as they were respectful and had some degree of concern for the well-being of their sex partners) as much as I'm curious about what kind of beliefs a guy has about men, women and relationships. Easy- before dating/sleeping with someone, I talk to him about red pill and watch his micro-expressions very carefully. Then we open it up and go over some of the posts together. If you take a little time, you usually know what someone's about. Besides, if you're aware of red pill, there are a lot of tell-tale markers of a red pill guy. His actions (at first) may not be problematic, but the beliefs behind those actions are, and they will manifest eventually.

Well...unfortunately I'm not quite there yet. I still can't seem to have just friendships with men without them wanting more, despite being all washed up and post wall. But...maybe someday? I'm mostly talking about being hit on in public- that still happens but not nearly as much. I think every girl who lived in a major city laments the day that "day game" became a thing. Even after "The Game" came out, 10ish years ago, I couldn't go any damn place without some guy trying to talk to me. but once…

Actually, as a woman nearing my 40's, I have to say, I LOVE IT! I used to hate being hit on in public- it was super awkward and embarrassing. hated it hated it hated it. Now I'm at an age where men don't take a smile as an "I'd love to fuck you." I can now be kind to men without being worried that they'll pursue me until I give them a hard rejection. It's so nice and such a relief! They just treat me like a normal human being. I don't feel like I'm being hunted, and I love it. EmpressofMars will…

It's exactly the same when a guy is pursuing a girl and she finally turns around and says, ok, cool, let's do this. He loses interest because he's in love with chasing, not in love with her. These girls are the same- they fall in love with the "challenge" of a red pill guy, and when he turns around and says, ok, I'm yours, she loses interest. Because she was into the chase, not him.

What I'm saying is that water usually finds its level. People usually pair up with people who are similarly attractive. So maybe you think these guys are really good looking but they are just average. I'm saying maybe it's your perception that these men are far more attractive than the women they are with, not reality. It's all pretty biased, actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/15 02:10 AM
3

Maybe it's hard for you to gage male attractiveness?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/15 01:47 AM
3

Seriously? have a look at celebrity couples where there is an attractiveness disparity. It's usually the man who's worse looking than the woman. And often she's just as rich as he is, so it's not about money. I see the same thing in real life too--- usually, in my opinion, the woman in the couple is better looking than the man. ...I'm open to the fact that I may just be biased, but...doesn't anyone else see this?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/15 01:06 AM

Moreover, it's not just that you get older its also a novelty aspect. When you see a new hot girl she is going to be more attractive to you even if the old hot girl is objectively better looking. It's just how our brains are wired based on evolution. That makes me sad :/ why even bother with monogamy if your man is going to get sick of you and prefer a newer girl no matter what? This is the point exactly. All men feel like this to some degree (just as all women find men in the 20-30 range attrac…

As far as the disparity in inventing/building, give us 30 years. For the vast majority of human history women haven't been able to pursue their interests because child-bearing/raising took so much time and the brunt fell on women. Things are changing, though women still bear the brunt of childbearing and raising. If men pulled their weight here, my guess is that women would pull their weight in other endeavors. Of course we can't know until we know. And for that, men need to step the fuck up.

Modern society is attempting to change these biological roles and it only makes both men and women unhappy. OP is currently arguing that men are responsible for how women behave, and refuses to explain why. No woman has ever been able to do that beyond "man up that's why." I think I missed that. Where did she say that? Women get multiple outs. Men get none. This is seen as acceptable because women should have choices, but obviously men have responsibilities and should man up. Feminists love gender roles provided they benefit women. Restating your opinion doesn't count as "proof." How do women have "mu…

On the other hand, sometimes it seems as if some women intentionally neglect their makeup and outfit when they are in a relationship with a BB. Sort of like a statement. Neither stance can be proven, it's based on feelz No it isn't really. Legally for example, it's way easier if you're a woman. I don't doubt that that is true in some respects, and someone else (or was it you?) directed my attention to a study (done by a woman lawyer, by the way- a woman who is shedding light on men's issues) about how men are given harsher sentences under the law. And just like for women, there's a very, very fine line between 1) getting bogged down by the unfairness of that sexism and whining about it all the time, while flinging shit at the other sex/gender (thereby creating sexism toward them) and 2) acknowledging that it exists, doing your best to combat it, an…

My point is that you started by expressing disappointment in women because they cheat when married. You end worrying about your assets. So your argument is that men will nurture and still be attracted to a depressed, low confidence woman and that women will instantly lose attraction to a man who lets his guard down, even a little bit. Sometimes it's tempting to believe a theory just because it puts us in the place of the victim. It's a way of externalizing blame and comforting ourselves. We all do it to some degree. It's certainly better than a bunch of people sitting around citing their personal experiences and tapping away at their keyboards, isn't it? I think the problem with social sciences as descriptors of human behavior is that people, on the whole, are emotional about human behavior. They want to defend their own and vilify that of others, especially if the conflict is personal (as gender issues are for most people). That opens the door to all kinds of bullshit.

I like the way you laid it out. I do have a few thoughts about the definition of hypergamy though. In academics, hypergamy is used to describe the tendency for women to marry up in social status. It would be interesting to see a timeline for this sort of thing. By this definition, is hypergamy more or less common now than in the past? And even in the past, poor men were sometimes known to marry a woman who was in line to inherit resources. Perhaps not as common, but still not unknown. In TRP, it…

Yours is a thoughtful post that deserves a thoughtful response and unfortunately I'm a bit swamped with work at the moment. I hope to come back to this within the next few days.

I've read so much red pill stuff and this feels like you are just parroting the same old talking points. Which is fine if that's what you really believe. I thought of several counter-arguments while I read, but neither of us are going to change each other's minds, are we? Furthermore, I have no qualms with the way you're living your life- these are your beliefs, and a mghow lifestyle fits with your beliefs. I do find it interesting that, if a woman chooses wghow (as I said I was doing temporaril…

But, emphatically, a woman in the 40th percentile will have an easier time with dating than a man in the 40th percentile. She might have an easier time having sex. But I'm not sure that she has an easier time "dating." And who's the judge of which percentile people are in? Shouldn't the judge be the other sex? So, if a woman is getting 40th percentile kind of dates, she's in the 40th percentile. If a man's not getting any dates, he's probably not in the 40th percentile. You see what I'm saying? …

society with the basic reality is that once a man marries a woman he will end up living life more or less on her terms. He's going to be accountable to her 24/7. She's going to make decisions - big and small. She's going to shower him with an endless stream of shit tests until he breaks. It's rather toxic and truly I become depressed witnessing the pathetic childlike state most western husbands live in these days. I'd say maybe 10% of the wives I see are actually tolerable to live with. The rest…

I don't doubt that. Which aspect do you feel I don't understand, and could you explain it to me?

I ummmm...well, so my question is, how is it that more men going their own way (celibate, I presume) is going to keep our society from going extinct? Well, I guess we do have sperm banks... How old are you? Seriously, how old is anyone who believes this shit. Anyways thanks for telling me you are a mghow. I will sleep better tonight.

Blah blah blah "Lookit me! I red pill!" dude...do every woman you come in contact with a profound favor and join the mgtow already. I'm serious. Or, just tell every woman you get involved with that you feel this way: You can call me a sexist but I can only speak from my own observations. Women are miserable creatures. They suck the joy right out from you. They never create the joy themselves. It's a one way street in that regard. Their happiness is entirely based on men. Luckily for them they po…

Such a woman doesn't need to do anything other than brush her teeth and get out of bed in the morning. Her challenge will be finding a guy who doesn't fuck her around. WAh wah wah, life is so HARD because I'm a man. Here, fixed this for you: The GIRL should do everything possible to maximise HER physical attractiveness, social status and economic status, although social status is already less important than looks and economic status by 25. With a lot of perseverance SHE will then be able to HAVE…

What if both of you show initiative? Take turns? Have you ever experienced that? Because it's FUCKING AWESOME. And not quite possible if you subscribe to the "women expect you to take the lead in the bedroom" trope.

See, this is why sex was so bad when I was dating that red pill guy. He was convinced I was submissive because "women are generally submissive" but if you let things develop naturally, without this belief lodged firmly in your thinking thing, she might surprise you. And you may be pleased...

Uh, yeah. Women are attracted to healthy, attractive, good looking, successful men. I don't know where red pill got the idea that that was some kind of secret that only they are privy to. It's sort of similar to how men are attracted to attractive, young, good looking women. I mean, I've heard, several times in my life, "Well men aren't only attracted to looks, they also like nice, kind, interesting girls." and somehow, shockingly, I didn't take that as the world having some huge conspiracy to p…

glad I'm not the only one. This really became an issue with my pua/red pill ex--- I was grossed out by his n-count. For me, I like a guy who is in my range, who's slept with about the same amount of women as I have men. somebody who, you know, has exercised a little self control and brings some dignity to his sex life? But then I feel guilty about that- it's shitty to shame people about their pasts. I'm at odds with myself on that one.

"Relationships are about power." Do you think believing this might be a self-fulfilling, self-intensifying cycle? AS in, you believe relationships are about power, so you create (and attract) relationships that are about power, so your belief that relationships are about power strengthens? When I meet a couple who has a relationship that I admire, I often notice that they don't seem to be in a power struggle. They just seem to support each other in their goals. Of course I'm observing from the o…

many threads about men having a negative visceral reaction to women who have had a lot of sexual partners. I wrote about this in another thread, but I'm actually a woman who has a negative visceral reaction to men who've had many partners. Any other women feel this way? I want to tell myself not to feel this way because slut-shaming is fucked up, but when I find out a guy sleeps around a lot, or has in the past, I immediately lose interest in him. WE can still be friends but I don't want to slee…

Alright, established right now- I am DEFINITELY not your ideal woman. Shenanigans: 1.) When we had "issues," as every relationship does, I would attempt to have a discussion about it, so we could find a solution that worked for us both. He reacted like a good red piller does to any "shit test." I found this to be suboptimal. Unfortunately for him, I see my concerns as authentic concerns, with existing solutions that could be (if applied) mutually beneficial. So, all his evasive bullshit got old.…

Actually, I'm not a "bro." I'm a woman who (unwittingly at the time) had a relationship with a "red pill man." It was awful. And I feel for him because he tried very hard to make it work. But his red pill shenanigans had the opposite of the effect he intended. Some of what you say above could be true- a guy could develop confidence, outcome independence, and interests while doing red pill. I actually really appreciate that red pill encourages that sort of thing. However, I disagree with the belo…

A lot of red pill techniques give guys confidence - in the past, they put women on a pedestal and now they look down on women. Confidence is sexy. Being outcome independent is attractive to both sexes. that's why everyone complains that it's easy to attract the people they aren't attracted to. Red pill helps guys at least fake outcome independence. It also helps them be more interesting, or at least fake being interesting and mysterious. So it will "work" for a while, but then shit goes wrong. I…

I dated a guy who was into red pill and it was confusing as hell. I had no idea where he was getting his ideas about dating and why he was doing the things he was doing. It took me a long time to recognize his patterns and stop explaining away his shitty behavior and finally walk away. Dating him was the worst dating experience I've had in my life and I still struggle to trust men. I check in on red pill, blue pill and purple pill because it helps me understand what happened in our relationship.…
