Exactly, that girl doesn't know it yet but she is SO, SO lucky! She can start her new life and education in Germany without anybody holding her back. Amazing luck for her!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you are feeling better!

Honestly FDS is gonna disagree but I have nothing against blue-collar careers. I would date a carpenter, plumber or electrician any time. Probably because I used to work in the trades myself. Of course a good percentage of them are undereducated alcoholics JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PROFESSION so as usual, apply standards :-)

You. Are. Adorable. And spelling everything correctly while drunk? GOALS.

Happy to talk about it! What would you like to know? It does have downsides, mainly my skin is drier and thinner than before, and I'm pretty sure my brain works just a bit slower. But the upsides are huge. My periods used to go on for WEEKS and were totally debilitating. It is SUCH a relief not to have to lose all that blood anymore. I save so much on tampons and pads and ruined underwear, ha ha. And I was always rabidly against having children so that was never a conflict or a regret for me. Wh…

Same, one year is when the "trial period" ends IMO. Now WHY I stayed with so many terrible quality guys AFTER that, who the hell knows!

That HAD to be written by a man. Trying to get us to lower our standards. Edit: read all the other comments to see that we all realized the same thing. BOOYA!

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's good that you're here because the dating world is a SHITSHOW. If you're not used to it you may be very shocked and disappointed, OR think a lot of this behavior is normal or acceptable since it's literally EVERYWHERE. Bonus: please be very careful letting any men you are dating near your child. There ARE creeps out there who specifically target single moms in order to get close to the kids.

Either that or your ex is super-controlling and anxious to rub it in your face how he has a new 22-year old (YUCK!) who will do ANYTHING for him.

If you cut and paste the first paragraph of the text in the post into a search engine you will find it, but be warned, that other site is nearly unreadable with all the extra stuff following you all over the page as you scroll :-/

You packed a metric fucktonne of "learning experience" into two short weeks and I thank you for posting! I appreciate every red flag you mentioned ESPECIALLY about a guy living with his parents. What a lazy lump you nearly got stuck with! Thank fuck you wised up in only two weeks! Good for you!

That's great! I just wanted to mention, don't be discouraged if your help doesn't "take" right away, as you may know it often takes a woman an average of 7 tries to finally get out of a bad relationship. Don't be surprised if she goes back to him a few times.

I'm over 50 and it's glorious. No more having my time wasted by overtestosteroned showoffs! Only respectful give and take and exchange of ideas with BOTH genders (yes, some men ARE capable of being friends/working together with women). Also, menopause? RULES. Not even kidding! Don't believe the hype!

What, sex clubs? Yeah they do exist and actually you will never find a place where women's boundaries are MORE clearly understood and respected. That doesn't stop some creeps from trying to weasel their way in anyway though:-) Edited to add: I went to one just to see what all the fuss was about and it was super-boring and not my scene at all, one of those things you can do once but never need to do again ha ha

REPOSTING BECAUSE I ACCIDENTALLY TYPED SOME SLURS I was unfortunately brought up to think that I should give every guy a "chance" if he was "nice" enough to show interest in me. That's how I ended up with a LONG string of ATROCIOUS men. The worst one was openly alcoholic AND a drug user who could not hold a job because of his attitude toward "authority". He ended up SHOOTING AT ME and yet, somehow, I did NOT CALL THE COPS, instead I packed up my shit and moved out of the apartment that I paid fo…

Your comment resonated with me so much that I posted my own story about my abusive ex who is now dead. YAY us for being survivors and to hell with those dudes! Wish we hadn't wasted so much of our time on them though.

From my experience there are at least 10x as many really good quality women as there are good quality men and I honestly don't believe each of us is going to find a good man. It really makes me sad. But you can't always get everything you want, and I'd rather be alone forever than waste my time and resources on a useless lump of underemployed gamer who doesn't share my goals or help me reach them.

I'm with you on the height thing; I'm 5' 6" and have dated guys from 6' 4" to 5' 3". If it's not a problem for THEM it's not a problem for me! :-) And I couldn't agree more on hygiene. Good grooming is so important! Nice hands, YES! Not to forget nice forearms and ankles, ha ha, show me a good set of forearms in a rolled up dress shirt sleeve and I am TOAST!

So what type of list are you thinking of? Like "things to watch out for when you're messaging a guy"? I have a very firm list of dealbreakers and won't even meet a man who doesn't meet these standards: He must be childfree and a nonsmoker. He cannot be addicted to weed, alcohol, porn or video games He must have a job or at least a good work ethic (if he's unemployed due to corona he should at least be studying or volunteering). I need to find him physically attractive, for me that means at least…

That's amazing and we're all super proud of you. You say your father is abusive, you may want to be on the lookout for him trying to sabotage your new, better life. Basically lay low and quietly collect all your important papers/certificates in a place you can easily get to them and he can't. Do you already have your own bank account that he has NO access to? Make double sure about that. It's not unheard of for narc parents to clean out their kids' account and/or take out credit cards in their n…

OP isn't worried about dating, she's concerned about her info being used by employees or nearby dudes. I do go out to eat where I live, the tables are outside and everyone's wearing a mask.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/08/20 05:09 AM

We are doing that where I live for some weeks now. I do think contact tracing is important so I just scribble a random address and then my throwaway EMAIL instead of a phone number. If anybody finds my email I don't care.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/08/20 05:07 AM

Yeah it is shocking to me how totally unashamed they are to be basically a useless lump on the couch. I'd be MORTIFIED to be taking advantage of my partner like that.

Technology has now gotten to the point where someone can "photoshop" your face onto the body of someone else in a VIDEO, in a sex video for example, then go around claiming it's you.

Agreed, I have ALWAYS had male roomies and this kind of shit has never, ever, happened to me. Poor OP got very unlucky with her housing situation. OP if you're reading this, you can STOP even trying to explain anything to the dude, he does not care about your reasons for not letting him 'hit it'. Unfortunately if he doesn't move out, you may have to. What an uncomfortable spot to be in!

It doesn't matter so much what we all think, if YOU are feeling weird about the guy then yes you should block him, nobody would judge you for that at all.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/08/20 06:57 AM

I'm way older than you and I'm here to tell you it will shock you how much people DO NOT CARE about your breakup or any of the reasons behind it. Don't worry at all about what people are thinking of you. Just go ahead in life with your eye on the prize (your degree) and don't let yourself be distracted by petty people. You're already well on the way!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/08/20 06:54 AM

You sound amazing. I hope the next step in your leveling up process will be to block this guy who does not add anything positive to your life. Remember, the more time we waste on people who hold us back, the less time we have to better ourselves and meet better people!

Same, the men I have been meeting are such a tidal wave of disappointment and entitlement that I had to just stop before I became permanently embittered. I definitely can't meet a good man when I'm feeling that way, so I just take breaks from even trying. It's exhausting out there! EDIT: also, LOL at your poll! :-)

This is just so weird to me, I cannot imagine a universe in which I would WANT to be choked. "Breath play"? THAT'S what they're calling it these days? Ugh. Sorry OP, that observation has nothing to do with the reason for your post, I just had to chime in.

That is exactly why I usually do coffee dates as a first meeting, even though it goes against FDS principles. If I like the guy we can go on a "real" date.

I'm in your age group too and jeez, the men our age are so unappealing! They're either successful in life and super-smug about it and love to boast all night long about how wonderful they are, or they're unsuccessful in life and horribly bitter and angry and should DEFINITELY not be dating until they get some therapy. I always end up dating guys 20 years younger because at least they are up for adventures... but of course they have their downsides too :-)

I'm here for you! I'm over twice your age and my list of dealbreakers is as long as your arm, haha. But seriously, There are some very basic things I will not compromise on. He must be childfree and a nonsmoker. He cannot be addicted to weed, alcohol, porn or video games He must have a job or a good work ethic. " you can be told to leave at anytime" Unfortunately that is not true in most states in the US. Once someone has been in your place for 30 days they acquire rights as a tenant.

Unfortunately OP said he was sly enough to put the cable bill in his name :-(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/08/20 09:56 AM

That was very clever and conniving of him, that way you can't shut off the internet to get him out AND you'd have to serve him a 30-day notice to quit. I feel bad for you though that you have to lose your apartment over this. I wonder if you could move BACK in in a few months after he is out of the way? By the way don't feel like a dumbass, you only behaved like a normal, honest person and expected him to do the same. I've been bamboozled just like you in the past.

Same, I always have male roomies and it works out fine, because I own the house, ha ha. Only had to evict one loser over the years for going feral and playing WoW all day and night on his filthy, bare mattress.

Agreed, I am over 50 myself and have a really hard time with the "let the man pay for everything" idea since it was SO drilled into my head "Be independent, don't rely on anyone for anything". Intellectually I understand what the handbook is saying but I can't seem to make it true in my inner self :-) Of course that's not an issue currently since I haven't dated in over a year, ha ha.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/07/20 12:31 PM

You don't say how old you are but I am probably twice your age, and I've been single for a few years now. Don't get me wrong, I'd be delighted to find a good man but my standards are now astronomical and it is actually better that way. It's definitely way MORE lonely being in a bad relationship with someone who doesn't meet your needs. Being lonely while IN a relationship is the absolute worst kind of loneliness. So I'm pretty resigned to being single forever and not too torn up about it anymore…
