Keep calling around even if it feels frustrating. A lot of good family lawyers stay busy, but cancellations happen and smaller firms can be just as solid. I would also ask your local bar association for referrals instead of relying only on Google. Finding someone who actually communicates well made a huge difference for me, and once I did, everything felt a lot more manageable.

Keep calling around even if it feels ridiculous. I found that smaller firms and solo attorneys were way more willing to actually talk instead of brushing me off. If your local bar association has a referral service, that can help too. The right lawyer is out there, and once you find one who actually listens, the whole process gets a lot less overwhelming.
