Firstly, it's important to understand that language changes evolves over time. Often times a specific phrase is used to paraphrase a sentiment that exists and can be expressed using multiple different phrases, but which reflect a deeper underlying culture. "He's just a boy", "You can't ruin their life for 3 minutes of action", "It's just a youthful indiscretion", https://clevelandrapecrisis.org/comparing-kavanaugh-to-steubenville/ "How can you blame him when you're dressed the way you are (direc…

I understand what you're saying, and I agree that is definitely the original meaning of the phrase. Abusers distort language, and anyone regardless of gender/race/class can be an abuser. I have absolutely heard it used to diminish abuse, and you could come up with countless examples across all demographics that fit a similar bill. Feminists didn't weaponize that phrase, abusers and abuser apologists did. Feminists are likely just responding to the weaponization from the abusers. That doesn't mea…

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/walgreens-employee-refused-sell-condoms-couple-faith-rcna39165 Walgreens employee refuses to sell couple condoms. This is going to become more and more prevalent. Also, you can always, get raped and not have a courteous raper who uses a condom. Why do you hate women? Did your mommy not pay enough attention to you. Fuck off troll.

This comes off as a low effort 'all lives matter' post in response to BLM.

Were there new conscription laws enacted today? Because News is generally relevant to the happenings of the day. I don't disagree that male only drafting and conscription is bullshit, I'm just not aware of any reason it would be more relevant today than on other days. Whereas there is a hugely relevant and newsworthy event that happened today that affects the lives of ~300 million people and the BBC seems to be covering it appropriately. Just like saying black lives matter doesn't diminish the i…

First of all, I said nothing like what you're accusing me of. Second of all, they are not the SOLE arbiter of sex. Stop pretending that they are. I agree they have a larger role in the choice, which makes sense because sex is a higher risk for women. Your anger clouds your judgement. Don't let it take you.

Not to mention the obvious implication based on OPs perspective that women are sex objects.

The trick is to learn to love yourself all the time, especially when no one is around. Try to really find out who you are and what you want. Spend your time doing the hobbies that you enjoy and working towards the goals you have for your life. Trying to pin your self success on whether someone else accepts you is a path you don't want to take. Spend your time disciplining yourself in the things that make you feel alive, and the things you have to do to make yourself thrive. Edit: You can invite …

You have the right to choose to respect whomever you wish. Just remember while you have the right to choose not to respect an individual, they have the right to choose not to respect you. I find extending a little extra respect to people I may not agree with makes my life a lot better overall.

Pretty sure this is satire meant to illustrate that something someone else said was, "the natural law", was in fact bullshit. I don't know the context, but based on the author, I'm pretty sure this is not a serious comment. Happy to be proven wrong if someone can find the context.

And I think there is some merit to that argument. These laws do come from a different time, but in legal reality, it's still less cut and dry than the direct bodily autonomy challenge to the host parent.

I agree, but the reason they do is because women have to carry embryos and fetuses. A person cannot compel another to sacrifice their body for another. It's the basic tenant of bodily autonomy, and it's for this reason that women can terminate their pregnancy if they so choose. As a human who has fairness as a core value, it's very frustrating that men and women don't have equal rights here, but I understand that there really is no easy/perfect solution.

Before we ever slept together, we had long discussions about pregnancy and parenthood. She knew that I never wanted kids, and we had discussed abortion as our choice together, if anything ever happened by accident. I was young, and I didn't understand that some people aren't trustworthy. I pay my child support. I accept responsibility for my actions. The fact of the matter is that she tricked me. Everyone has messy things happen in their life. By definition, when someone takes advantage of you, …

She was on birth control and stopped taking it without telling me for the expressed purpose of getting herself pregnant. If that isn't tricking someone, I don't know how you would describe it.

This is the correct answer.

I mean. Women are told that they shouldn't have "opened their legs" all the time as well. I don't think it's an issue of hypocrisy here. As someone who has been in this situation, I understand that it's not nearly as simple as OP is trying to make it. It comes off especially tone deaf in the wake of multiple states attacking bodily autonomy by enacting new bans on abortions.

US Citizen and resident. I was tricked into getting a girl pregnant 12 years ago. I have given up parental rights. I still have to pay child support.

Taking a half quote and using it in an argument out of context doesn't jump off the page as accurate. The quote is meant as a call to the men who do see injustice to stand up and do something about it. Speak out when you see someone being marginalized because they are weaker. Protect your fellow people. The constituents of both parties have more in common than they don't. Ultimately, it's the criminally rich (there is nothing wrong with being rich, but the world has a culture of people using the…

This is an insanely warped world view. If this is real, you may need to talk to someone, and spend less time in toxic areas of the internet. I wish you the best my friend. <3
